soho fax suggestions?
Need to replace our older soho fax machine with something more current.
Would like to run the fax line through *, but haven't been able to
make spandsp work correctly with digium TDM04b card. Our fax volume
is very low (maybe a few per week), but we have multiple offices in
three geographic locations and would like to be able to email the
images to the correct location.
For planning purposes,

KINGSTON SOHO Hub
I just ran into a completely unexpected problem.
It appears that the Kingston SOHO Hubs don't do TCP. They do NETBEUI very
well. After 4 hours of troubleshooting I went home and got my cheap Bay
Networks 8 port hub and everything worked.
This is to hopefully prevent others from running into the same problem.
Nothing on Kingstons site mentions no TCP support but swapping only the hub
worked

SOHO PBX using asterisk
Hi,
I'd like to build a personal PBX connecting 4 or 5 analogic phones with a
ADSL line and I'd like to know what is the right card I need
I visited digium site and I think TDM400 could be the right choice but I
cannot understand how it works...I think it has 4 slots where 4 modules
(FXS or FXO) can be inserted. How many cards do I need to connect my ADSL
line to 5 phones? I think I

SOHO Survey / Creative Asterisk Solutions
I hope the subject isn't too buzzword compliant :)
I'm just curious: What have people done with Asterisk? I'm particularly
interested in DIY projects and things that can be done on a small/home
office (or even hobbiest's) budget. If you have clever hacks or creative
functionality you've implemented, I'd love to hear what a few people have
come up with.
Thanks! -Brian

SOHO Serial Solution needed
Hi,
I'm looking to backup a small network (Hughes DW7000 satellite
modem, small consumer grade Internet Broadband router+wireless, Soekris
NET4801 single board computer + 4 port lan card, Cisco 2900 switch)
and want a small form factor (This is sitting on a small shelf) and
light.
The main thing I'm running into is that it *HAS* to be serial.
(The Soekris only has 1 USB port and I

Cyberpower Value1200E might not need 0.667 battery scaling
I just got a Cyberpower SOHO Value 1200 ELCD UPS and even with nut
2.7.2, it appears to report battery voltage too low due to the battery
scaling function (In drivers/cps-hid.c). Even though the ups has usb
id: 0764:0501, UPS.PowerSummary.Voltage reports 26.6 for the 24V
batteries so when the 0.667 battery scale is applied that goes down to
17.7V.
upsc output:

Hello!
How long a DC (samba 4) can be offline without losing the consistency of

In the case, how long it is safe I rewire it the network?

Power-outage
I have a CentOS-5.6 remote server in a house in Italy,
where there are occasional thunder-storms.
There was one yesterday, when the electricity
went off 3 times, for a second or so on each occasion.
My server, an HP MicroServer,
came back (re-booted) on 2 of the 3 occasions,
but not on the third.
I assume that the problem arises because the machine
does not close down properly.

Printing to a Jet Direct card
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi Everyone,
Will samba handle printing to a printer connected to the network with
a jet direct card. I currently print to a locally connected laser
jet 4 plus and need to add a color printer as well. Will samba
handle printing to an IP address or is the only solution to try and
add another parrallel port. I am running RH 6.1 and Samba 2.06. I

Supporting a DIY UPS with minimal effort butmaximum gain
Ha! I got several on and off list requests for details, so I'll give a
bunch of details here and then maybe I can move this to a wiki page others
can help edit.
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Be careful! My implementation required opening up high power components,
and dealing with 120VAC mains power and high currents on 12VDC. If you
decide to tackle any of this yourself, you need to understand

UPS SALICRU SOHO+1600 driver & update web
Hello,
I wanted to send an email to the administrator of the web to update an information, I do not know if this mailing list is appropriate.
I just wanted to say that I have a UPS SALICRU SOHO + 1600VA and after several days trying to configure it I found out the problem.
This UPS has usb 1.0 HID, so it does not work with the driver usb blazer if you have to use the driver usbhid-ups.

JOB: Rails contractor needed in SoHo (NYC) 2-3 days per week onsite
I work with a SoHo based design firm and we are looking to hire
another rails programmer for 2-3 days per week. We work with large
non-profits and most of the work involves content management systems,
event registrations systems, contact management etc... (nothing out of
this world).
If you are in the New York Metro area, can make it to a SoHo office a

NewbieQ: SOHO setup with x100p
After scouring the list archive and not finding the answer I decided to
post to the list. I'm sure the answer is glaringly obvious but please
bear with me.
Using Asterisk, I'm tasked with setting up a SOHO with 5 analogue (FXS?)
lines and a number of soft-phones for internal extensions. I'm confused
by the telephony hardware needed for this exercise -

Supporting a DIY UPS with minimal effort butmaximum gain
Looks very great, thanks for writing this! I gather you'd port this to the
Wiki page you've started, too?
A couple of comments:
