Hi,
I have lookedaround and don't see this anywhere. Is there a way to

I have finally set correctly the Message Wait Indicator feature on my

referred to the {mailbox=210@Context} extension context not the
voicemail context).

MWI on Zap analog phone not lighting
We are using Bellsouth 8867 phones on our TDM400B FXS lines
(asterisk-1.0.3). It has a "Voicemail" light, which appears to be MWI
(according to the manual it works with voicemail from the telco that
sends a FSK signal). The dialtone stutters when a line has voicemail, so
I know that I have the mailbox setting right in zapata.conf, but the
light doesn't go on. I am also getting

my biggest concern about defaulting the context to anything at all
besides [default] is that you then have to remember to configure the
voicemail.conf with the corresponding contexts. as it stands, you have
the ability to do just that, but you don't have to. if you have several
hundred extensions broken out by dozens of contexts, it might not make
sense to force the voicemail.conf to follow

MWI light on Cisco Phones
Hi all, I'm having sudden MWI problems. Everything else on the phone
works fine though.
I have three Cisco 7940s.
Asterisk server is behind a firewall running NAT. (192.168.1.202/24)
Phone #1 - On the same subnet 192.168.1.250. Everything works great.
Phone #2 - On a different subnet, 192.168.2.0/24. Everything works fine
except the MWI. It never comes on. This is over an IPSEC VPN, but

External MWI question for Asterisk
Hey there. I've been working on a project to integrate Asterisk with
Exchange Unified Messaging via sipX using large parts borrowed from:
http://blog.lithiumblue.com/2007/04/accessing-exchange-2007-unified_29.html
... and everything works surprisingly well. The one problem I have is MWI,
or a lack thereof. Exchange 2007 doesn't support MWI of any kind (!), so
I've been looking into

Realtime peers, mailbox and MWI problem
Hello,
I am facing a problem I can't understand. I have several realtime SIP peers
and from time to time, the mailbox field is not loaded in asterisk memory.
The mailbox field is correctly populated in the database, but often, after
an asterisk restart, the mailbox is not associated to the peer (just to
understand, if I run "sip show peer 104-TEST", I see the Mailbox empty. If

Email MWI crashes Asterisk
Hi,
Strange problem that I can't seem to see any past postings on. New
installation on OS X server. Voicemail ok from the handset. When an
email address is added for MWI notification, asterisk crashes after the
email is sent. Sendmail/postfix logs show no errors and the email is
sent ok regardless. If I run asterisk with -vvvvvvvvcg it runs quite
happily, emails and voicemails

MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All -
I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and
IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I
remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I
can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured
for MWI as specified in the WIKI:

MWI Light On SoundPoint IP 300
I've taken a look at:
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Getting+MWI+on+Polycom+Phon
es+to+work+with+Asterisk
I've followed those directions but when I press my message key it
doesn't dial the number specified... It actually dials 614p which is the
user I register with.
My MWI light works, and worked before following those directions, but...
I can't make it auto

One mailbox for multiple extensions with individual greetings
Hi,
Is there a way in Asterisk 11 to use a single voicemailbox for multiple
extensions while still hearing each extension's individual greeting?
Use case: someone has 2 numbers and wants all voicemail messages for
both numbers to end up in one mailbox. So when dialing 1234 and NOANSWER
you would hear "the person at extension 1234 is unavailable" and the
message would be stored

MWI, Realtime SIP, Voicemail and Extensions, UAs registered with SER
I have the following setup:

- SIP peers (non cached), extensions, voicemail setup (not message storage)
defined in Asterisk 1.2 using Realtime
When a message is left in the user's mailbox, no Notify message is sent to
SER.
1. If the SIP peer is defined in sip.conf with a host=ser.domain.com then
the notfy is sent to SER.
2. If realtimecache=yes is set in

Aastra MWI
I need to setup MWI on a few Aastra 9112's. I've tried doing so in the
web interface by setting "Explicit MWI Subscription" to true, but no
lights, no stutter tone.

Thanks!

Command to light MWI on 7940 /7960
We have several agents on queues, and want to indicate to them that they
are logged in or logged out. We have tried several different ways, from
changing the screen to presenting different service menus, but cannot
get anything to be "in their face" (their words, not mine).
One of our team has suggested, as the agents do not have voicemail, is
to use the MWI on the 7940 phones to

Placing a MWI on-off call...
My grateful thanks to whoever can guide me in implementing this...
I have a need to place calls via Asterisk Manager Protocol to a legacy PBX
and twiddle its MWI lights.
By some means I get notified that an MWI light has to be changed.
Via AMP:
1. Send an ORIGINATE command honking up an incoming port on the PBX via a
TA804.
a. I presume that the TA804 should be a SIP channel. yes/no?

Polycom IP501 MWI goes off periodically
I remember seeing something like this on the list a while ago, but I'm
darned if I can find it.
We have a number of Polycom IP501 phones, some of which have more than
one registration on them. When a voicemail is left for a phone with
only one registration, the MWI lights up and stays lit until the
voicemail is listened to.
However, on our phones with more than one registration, the MWI

MWI to 7960's sometimes delayed or lost. Please advise.
I have a large group of 7960G's running Asterisk 1.2.4 using SIP 7.5. Most
of the time the message waiting indicator works fine. Once or twice a day
either an MWI is not sent to the phone or the phone misses it. I have not
noticed duplicates being sent and I can't figure out the time, if any, a
resend is made. Anyone know why I'm missing, loosing or not sending an MWI

Questions about chan_dahdi, PRI, MWI (and Q.SIG)
Hello everyone,
My setup:
Debian squeeze
Asterisk 1.8, DAHDI, libpri, compiled from source
TE110P, attached to a Deutsche Telekom Octopus E Modell 300/800
I'm trying to get MWI for Voicemail working. In the same server I have
also got an Eicon DIVA PRI card for testing purposes (it is integrated
via CAPI and the chan-capi channel driver into my Asterisk). MWI works
just fine there.
