When I make a call out on the Faktortel number I am then able to transfer to call to my asterisk meetme room of 801 by hitting 'transfer' then '801' then 'send' on my grandstream phone. This connects my faktortel trunk (and who ever is on the other end) to my conference room I can then make another call using my local pstn service and set up a 3 way (or whatever number

The following is my dialplan for outgoing international call. What I want are: - when people dial 9011604xxxxxxx , 9011605xxxxxxx, 90114411xxxxxxx, 90114421xxxxxxx, use voipstunt to dial out - otherwise, use my pstn to dial out. CID, international style?
I'm thinking of doing an app to work with the CID that's gotten from the Zap channel. All the CID's I see from within the US are 10 digit numbers. I'm out in the rural areas of the US, and no-one ever calls me from overseas. If they did, what would the CID look like? What does the CallerID look like overseas? How many countries provide it? murf

Problem with parking
Hi, I'm having problem with call parking. When I park call, either via transfer to xten or park digit sequence from features.conf, I hear the parking lot number read to me and the user gets transferred. However, MOH stops for the caller the moment user is transferred. The user can be retrieved by dialing the parked extension and voice resumes. If the parked user hangs up, the channel state

OT: Question on Caller ID (Spoofing calls with Asterisk)
I got a call from an overseas call center telling me about the problems with the Windows machine I was using. They wanted to remote in and fix things for me ... (Ignore the fact I use a MacBook Pro or an ASUS laptop with Debian). What I found curious was the caller's name was Asterisk, and the caller's number was Asterisk at 10 or or Astrk at 10 similar. (I don't recall the exact

Asterisk's MultiProcessor Ability
We have asterisk running on a quad processor dell. The kernel has been compiled with SMP. However, asterisk seems to only use 1 processor. 3 of the 4 always stay at 100% idle. Is it pointless to have a multi-proc machine? I was going to buy a new dual 3.6Ghz Xeon server but if nothing will take advantage of the other proc... Perhaps my conception of multi-proc/threaded is warped. If asterisk is

Problem with busydetect and cell phones
I have a very strange problem I'm hoping someone has encountered already. I've scoured the internet for an answer to this one. My phone company provides no disconnect supervision. Hence I'm forced to use the busydetect feature. I have a TDM400 with two FXO ports. If I call from an internal extension to a landline and then hangup the landline Asterisk detects the busy signal

Why is yum not liked by some?
I have seen messages posted on the Fedora oriented forums that imply that "yum" is antiquated. Not being a Linux guru, I do not have the experience to make a thorough evaluation, but so far it has been just great. Todd -- Ariste Software 200 D Street Ext Petaluma, CA 94952 (707) 773-4523

Noises and echo effects
Hi! I need your advice. My problem is that I have very bad sound quality calling to cellular phone via asterisk router. There are some kind of noises and echo effects when you try to speak louder. I have the following components in my call routing schema: - PBX with E1 port. - asterisk router with TE405P card(32bit/4 E1 ports). - Teles server with PRI interface card(3 E1 ports) and VTM

Where to purchase ISDN (BRI) cards in Australia (preferably)
Hello all, I was wondering if anybody knows where one might obtain a PCI ISDN card supporting a single BRI for use with Asterisk in Australia (and using something like chan_capi). Because of the Isdn4Linux DTMF issue, I don't want one of those cards. I've already spent too much time messing about with my current card. I'm after something like the AVM Fritz! cards. I found one place

Skype for Asterisk, Skype For SIP
Hi, I'm trying to integrate Skype and Asterisk but I'm only interested in these 2 things: 1) allow any Asterisk SIP extension to call any Skype "user". I do not need to call landlines via Skype. 2) allow Internet Skype "users" to call my Asterisk PBX Skype "user" and route the call to a specific Asterisk SIP extension. At first, I thought it would be

Number portability in other parts of the world.
Are phone numbers portable in other countries? Are the same rules and conditions that exist here in the States mirrored elsewhere? How does a person in Europe go fully VoIP and still keep the main number? Do they use call forwarding? Is their another way to use an origination carrier without loosing your number? Trigger and Email in Dial Plan
I have a friend traveling overseas. I want to allow him to call a number which will give him a busy signal (so no charge), but will then send me an email that he has called. I know how to use a call file to trigger a call (I created a callback system for myself when I traveled overseas a few months ago), but I don't know how to trigger an email. All I want is a simple message like

Numbers hackers call
I see a lot of attempts by hackers to call 00972595301123? or 011972595115207? or variations but that same 972595 is often present. Can someone break down that dial string with an explanation? The 011 look like an overseas call (from Americas), while the 972595XXXXXX is unclear... -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
