Cisco 7960
Anyone know if it is possible to load your own XML scripts on to the phone, bypassing the Cisco CallManager? I am still waiting for my phone to arrive, but I have been playing with Cisco's phone services emulator, and that doesn't seem to like anything I pass to it. If it is possible, anyone want to share any sample scripts they have. --Mike

WxRuby-SWIG and WxWidgets 2.5.x
A while back there was a discussion about what version of WxWidgets to target with WxRuby-SWIG. I don''t remember seeing any resolution, but I gather that thus far WxRuby-SWIG has continued to target 2.4.2, with the thinking that WxRuby-SWIG would quickly mature to the point that it could replace WxRuby, and once that was done the focus would shift to working with 2.5.x.

Question on Inheriting Permissions
I asked this question yesterday and got some really good answers that I will be able to use later. My problem was that I did not ask the question in an exact enough way. Here is what I am trying to do: I have a share on my Samba server called art. The directory is owned by the user root and the group tech doc. I have set the permissions like this on the directroy: drwxrwxr_x That is I want

Upgrade
I recentlry tried to upgrade to 2.8.0. I ended up uninstalling 2.7.2 and installing 2.8.0 becuase the line in the FAQ states: That's a matter of taste. For most people the best thing to do is to uninstall R (see the previous Q), install the new version, copy any installed packages to the library folder in the new installation, run update.packages(checkBuilt=TRUE, ask=FALSE) in the new R and

uploading printer drivers
Hi, I'm having a little problem with my samba print server. I'm running samba 2.2.1a on a redhat 7.1 distro. I want to use the print$ share, so I can upload print drivers from a windows 2000 machine. I configured the print$ part in the smb.conf, made the directory and the subdir W32X86. They all have the appropriate permissions. When I try to upload drivers for an existing printer,

IVR Questions?
I'm fairly new to Asterisk, but I've been searching the archives extensively and haven't seen much information on using IVR for more than menus. I'd like to prompt a caller to enter his ID (employee, customer, account, etc). The business use I have in mind requires a five-digit ID. Then I need to be able to capture the ID entered, validate it (probably by playing it back with

Suggestion!
Hey guys, Keep up the goodwork! I have a suggestion...why not make Ogg Vorbis streamable through QTSS or Darwin Streaming server. The people at Apple are willing to incorporate it I'm sure. Would be nice to be able to stream Ogg Vorbis from with QTSS or Darwin Server!! Lemme know what you think! Regards, Mark -- Mark de Bokx - Application Engineer Cistron Internet Services P.O. Box 297,

Regarding net groupmap
Well, my Samba 3.0.4 is joined to a w2k AD and works fairly well so far, as it's not in a production environment yet. I am now testing it for such a release and have encountered a permission problem. Unless I chmod -R 777 the Samba share directroy, users can only read files on the share, including the ADS users in Domain Admins. Reading the Samba online manual, I figured the groupmap

Sound glitch when using libvorbisfile and libao
Hi Gunter, I think this problem started happening when I upgraded from Debian Wheezy to Debian Jessie. If nothing looks amiss in my code, it probably is a sound driver problem. But since it works 100% of the time in ogg123, I feel I must have missed some corner case. My audio driver is almost always active. I usually have my music player going in the background when I do my testing. The problem

Sound glitch when using libvorbisfile and libao
Hi there, I've been grappling with this for some time, so I'm finally breaking down and trying this list. I'm trying to integrate libvorbisfile and libao to create a simple sound file player, a la ogg123. To do this, I borrowed heavily from ao_example.c and vorbisfile_example.c. I feed the buffer from ov_read into ao_play in a simple loop. It usually works, but occasionally all it

4 port BRI options ?
Hi there I am in the UK.. and am running latest asterisk on FC1 (2.4 kernel). I would like to know what the best option is for a 4 port BRI card. I notice Digium don't provide one.. I have heard the Junghanns do one...but are there others ?? Is the Junghanns card reliable/stable with good sound quality ?? I notice it is very expensive in a per port comparison with the Digium cards.... hence

Sound glitch when using libvorbisfile and libao
Hi Gunter, Thank you for your quick response. As I mentioned in the email, I cannot dependably reproduce it. It comes and goes, and I just have to wait for it to come up before I can try to debug it. I've found it tends to happen when I've been taxing my sound driver, but this isn't consistent either. My inability to consistently reproduce this has made it a nasty bug for me to

anxiety
While looking further into our load problems with Samba, and specifically with logins, I bumped up our debug level to 10. This has me really worried: in log.smb, I now see that *every other* chdir logged is to *my* home directory. Why? It's not in the source, that I can see. It's not in smb.conf or in our logon script. It looks like each and every user that logs on "passes
