Matching Caller ID against a database of knowncallers
Hi, I use a simple script to query a 2 table's in a MySQL database. This is called using AGI. The first one has got about 200 rows in it each one is a caller ID number and a name. If I get a match then I set CLI to "name <number>" The second table has over 10,000 rows in it. It has all the telephone exchanges in the UK in it with the prefixes for the exchange. If I

Cisco 79XX and VLANS
Hey gang, We have about 30 Cisco 79XX phones all running latest 7.5 SIP. We are also using all Cisco Switches and Routers. Everything works great except that when you reboot a phone it takes like 3-5 minutes for it to come up. The phones spend tons of time 'Configuring VLAN..' We don't run any VLANs. Is there some way to skip this? In the 'Network Settings' I have

chan_capi-cm 0.6.4 random outgoing MSN problem
I've having a big problem after having upgraded to 1.2.4 and chan_capi-cm 0.6.4 When making outgoing calls I don't seem to have any control over the CLI that is presented to the called party -- it can be any one of the MSNs allocated to the line, allocated on what seems to be a random basis. This is on a BT Business Highway line (which is essentially an ISDN2e line with two built-in

UK (British Telecom) Caller ID again
I've followed the recent thread on caller id with UK British Telecom networks (where the caller id data is delivered before the first ring). My understanding is that if I use a recent CVS head (e.g. CVS-HEAD-09/18/04-17:45:52) and a TDM400 with FXO modules, all I need to do is include the line: usecallerid=uk In my zapata.conf (in the [channels] section) I've done this, but I get: Sep

Asterisk to Cisco Unity
Hi all, first post. My company's office in the UK is soon going to get a Cisco VoIP solution system. What I am interested in, and couldn't find googling, is if it is possible to connect an Asterisk solution to the Cisco system and have all the nice advantages of it (mainly calling the extensions and directly reach the other office). Thanks, have a nice day Simone

vlans+bonding+bridging
hi, I have to configure Xen server and DomU''s which should be able to talk to different vlans - depending on services put on DomU''s. I would like to enslave 2 NICs via bond interface. Both NICs are on trunk ports which are configured in the same way, the same native vlan. I don''t know, if I have to add vlans tagging to eth* interfaces then enslave tagged eth*

sipura over heat
I'm experiencing a very unusual problem with a few of my sipuras. They keep over heating after minimal usage. I unplug them and let them sit for 15 minutes and it starts working fine. The other way around is that I put a fan on it or something to keep it cooling. Has anyone else experienced this or are they just defective units? Regards, Mohammed Salim EZZI Telecom, Inc.

etherchannel/port group/bonding plus vlan works well
I figured I should post this because before I went to do it I searched the web for caveats etc and didn''t really find much. So anyway, I set up bonding + vlan for a project. Computer is dell powerdge 350 with 2 intel 82559 10/100 nic running stock 2.4.20. I tried both the eepro100 and the e100 drivers for the nics, both work 802.1q and bonding are modules. Switch is cisco 2924xl-en

Retry: Mapping AD domain users to UNIX users
I posted this last week but haven't heard anything. I'm not sure if this is because nobody knows the answer (can't believe that!) or I'm missing something obvious in the documentation and people are thinking "Read The Fine Manual". Whatever the reason, if anyone has any insights into this problem I'd be very grateful for their comments. We're using Samba 3.0.23b

[LLVMdev] Wrong Dwarf info with -O2? [PowerPC]
Hi all, today I was debugging some code (compiled by a 2 weeks old clang) on a PowerPC embedded system using the newest gdb (v7.4). I got a backtrace like this: (gdb) bt #0 0x0fe96314 in poll () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6 #1 0x1002c8ac in mli_poll ( fds=<error reading variable: Unhandled dwarf expression opcode 0x1>, nfds=<optimized out>, timeout=<optimized out>) at

Broadcom NIC Binding under Centos 4.2
Hello all, I'm having unusual difficulty configuring teaming with Centos 4.2. The 2 NIC's are Broadcom. The HW is HP DL360 and there is no teaming driver for RHEL4 since it comes with package (says HP). Since there is no teaming driver from centos (as far as I know), I tried the Broadcom Driver, configured the team file, but the team just wont come up. A Virtual Interface should be up

Centos box and Cisco 3750 VLAN's
Hello all, I have a CentOS box that has a NIC (eth0) on which I defined 4 VLAN's (counting the NIC itself): eth0, eth0.1, eth0.2 and eht0.3. Initially the Cisco switch was not partitioned into VLAN's which means that the only VLAN running on it was the default one (VLAN 1). I have then played with VLAN's a bit on the switch and at this point have two: VLAN 1 (which is default and can

Linker Option support for ELF
We use .note descriptors with ELF on OpenVMS.  We have self-describing entries with tags and lengths.  The compiler encodes stuff for the linker such as compiler version, compilation date-time, module name, final severity of the compilation, etc.  The linker itself then adds/modifies the .note entries to insert linker version, link date/time, etc.  We also use .notes to record floating point

OT - Cisco IP Phone and PC in diferent VLANs (with 802.1x)
Hello to all I would like to know If some of you have already configured an Cisco IP Phone (7940 or 7960) to work in a different VLAN than the PC that is connected through the phone switch? I know that this can be done with the Skinny firmware, but I dont if it works with the SIP firmware. The Cisco technical staff told me that these phones dont support 802.1x but can work as pass-through.

Cisco 7960 become UNREACHABLE behind pix firewall
Hi, I have about 10 Cisco 7960s behind a PIX 506E (IOS v6.3) firewall. After some period of time, asterisk says that some of them are unreachable, and the phones lose their registration. The only way to make the phones recover is to clear the NAT translation tables for the phones on the PIX (clear xlate...) Does anyone know how to fix this? As you can imagine, it is quite annoying. And it does not

ZyXEL 2000W
Hi, I know we've talked about this phone to death. I have pretty good voice quality, with and without WEP enabled, using the G729a codec and DLink & Netgear access points. I am facing one obstacle that is driving me insane. Does anyone have the call hold feature working? If you do... how did you make it work? The instructions say to press the left button to place the call on hold,

Why isn't Samba honouring UNIX permissions? [NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED]
Classification: NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED Solaris 9 Samba 3.4.5 I know this isn't the sort of query that gets much response but I'd be really grateful of any advice people can offer. I'm getting really fed up with Samba as I've never been able to make it work properly. Either I'm missing something basic (probably) or it just doesn't behave in the way I think it should!

VLAN issue
Do you need the whole configuration? On the switch end, we have the relevant VLAN (VLAN 48) with the assigned IP address of 192.168.48.101 and the range of ports (Gi1/0/1 - Gi1/0/8) assigned to that VLAN. Seems - and acts - like a legitimate setup and works fine, except for this particular instance. Thanks. Boris. On Fri, Jan 23, 2015 at 8:54 PM, Dennis Jacobfeuerborn < dennisml at
