Caching DTMF tones for get_data AGI?
I'm using get_data in an AGI script and am having a problem when, after
a long time in my IVR, when I ask for a 10-digit phone number, the first
few tries are always invalid -- the number it reads back is very
strange, almost like the DTMF tones from other answers were being cached
and then dumped on the call to get_data.
Anyone ever experienced this before? I have to do some major

Detecting DTMF Tones from Muted app_meetme Participants
Hi, folks.
I have a problem using Asterisk 1.2. I create conferences using
app_meetme and Zap channels, and for every participant I run the script
defined by AGI_BACKGROUND_SCRIPT to be able to listen and react to DTMF
tones. As the docs tell me, when using the AGI background script one
loses the ability to control the meetme conference via the command line
so for muting conference participants I

DTMF not completely muted
Hi all,
When the Dahdi driver detects DTMF, it seems it's not muting the first 5-15 ms
and sometimes the last 2-10 ms of the DTMF tone. This shows up in recorded
voicemail greetings -- you hear a very short DTMF '#', or sometimes two blips,
at the end of the recording.
I have a Mitel SX-200 connected to Asterisk 1.6.0.1 by a couple of Digium cards:

DTMF tones not long enough
Hi,
My system is like this currently:
ATA-186 <-> *1 <-> IAX2 to Europe <-> *2 <-> i4l <-> voicemail at cell
provider
When I dial up to my voicemail at my European cell phone provider I
can't press '#' to get into their menu. It seems like it just ignores
any DTMF tones or doesn't get them.
When I call a human on the other side of the i4l they

aastra 9133i DTMF tones
Hey - I know there's some other people out there that have the 9133i ...
has anyone gotten the DTMF tones to work after the far side picks up? I
didn't have any problems out of the box with my SPA-841 phones... the
aastra has been nicer so far, but I can't seem to get it to dial the
touch tones after an auto-answer device picks up on the far side... I
googled, to no avail.

Asterisk missing DTMF tones from some cell phones
While most cell phones are fine, some cell phones don't seem to produce
DTMF digits that Asterisk/Zapata will detect. One of our salespeople
has an AT&T model that never gets any digits through.
Is there a known solution?
I understand, of course, that with cell phones the DTMF tones are
actually created at the base, and that pressing the key longer usually
does not result in longer

DTMF, Asterisk, External PSTN gateway, and PAP2 (was: RE: Issue with DTMF Tones - CodecIssues)
I run a bunch of the Linksys ATA's.. I always use rfc2833 for DTMF.
works very well and have never had a problem with it.

Issue with DTMF Tones - Codec Issues
Topology:
PSTN<-T1 PRI->NEAX2400<-T1 PRI->Cisco 3825<-Ethernet-> Asterisk VoIP server
When I make a call to a VoIP user from the PSTN, the call gets routed
through the PBX, and Cisco. Because of that the DTMF tones are passed
inband, which I can hear on the VoIP end of the call. However, I have
one extension on asterisk set up so that I can check voice mail when

I cannot seem to find a way to stop atserisk inercepting DTMF tones and
regenerating them even on a zap to zap bridged call
is this possible?
Thanks

Nortel ATA not passing dtmf tones to fxo
I am trying to integrate a Nortel Norstar system with an Asterisk service
using a TDM04B card (4 fxo). So far everyting works from Asterisk to Nortel.
The problem is when someone dials from the Nortel PBX to the Asterisk server.
Asterisk answers the call and provides a dialtone (with DISA) but appartently
the DTMF tones are not passed to asterisk and the call cannot proceed.
This only

Short DTMF Tones and Asterisk
I'm having a very annoying problem with access my asterisk system from
work. Our phone system here only produces very very short DTMF tones.
The phones work fine for other IVR systems (Dell Support, HP Support,
etc, etc). However, tones to Asterisk just never make it.
The way I'm calling into my Asterisk server is such:
OFFICE PHONE => CALLUK.COM 0870 => IAX Inbound

DTMF issues/redial tones with rfc2833
Hi,
We have few systems with asterisk 1.4.22.1 and we use sip trunking for them
not PRI's, one of our system is giving a problem of dtmf (rfc2833), like
when we dial the number that have IVR and enter the extension or access
code, it some time takes it and some times does'nt recognize the digits
dialled. We also tried auto and info for dtmf but could not get the dtmf to
work reliably, can

DTMF Tones
I have tried beta2, beta3 and now back to 1.2.12.1 and I have correct
DTMF tones 25% of the time. I have to call several times to enter an
extension. I have a router and a packet shaper and some other stuff.
Anyone have any other ideas why this might happen. I do not have any
Zap channels but I am running CentOS4. I also do not have any cards
installed. Thanks

new DTMF tones
I just loaded from CVS this afternoon and in the debug output I see...
DEBUG[76820]: File chan_zap.c, Line 3254 (zt_read): DTMF digit: m on Zap/16-1
DEBUG[76820]: File chan_zap.c, Line 3254 (zt_read): DTMF digit: u on Zap/16-1
I knew about DTMF 0-9, A-D, *, and #, but I didn't know about m and u :-).

DTMF tones in MixMonitor recording
Hello list,
Hope you are all doing fine!
I have stumbled over some piece of dialplan code in which apparently they
were trying to avoid recording the DTMF tones in the wav file. It is really
messy and I am not sure if this really works. So after a bit of research I
found this comment (

DTMF Tones in RTP Payload as Well as in Events = Duplicate Tones
Dear friends,
As I commented some while ago in the list, occasionally when DTMF Tones are
sent, they appear in RTP Payload and in Events too, producing duplicate
tones being recognized. This behavior happens in Asterisk as well as in
Gateways such as Cisco, for which we had the opportunity to observe the
error and extensively debug it.
We ended up recognizing good digits by adjusting audio gain

Missing 31 DTMF tones over ZAP
Hello,
I'm posting this to the list in case others run into the same issue.
I've recently been connecting * to a legacy Avaya InDEX switch over
E1 ISDN PRI here in the UK. Everything was working OK, except that DTMF
digits were not being recognised by * when sent by the Avaya switch to
the * system. Instead, the background noise of the call centre would be
silenced while

DTMF tones not long enough on out going call s
Maybe its just me but I find this question a little confusing, the tone duration should have no impact on tone recognition and typically in my experience the duration of the tone is defined by how long the user holds down the button !?

European and/or US DTMF Tones?
My business is somewhat trans-atlantic. Does anyone know if Asterisk's
DTMF processing is:
a) European OR US
b) European AND US
c) It's hardware dependent you fool.
d) here's a better answer
thanks :-)
