X100P question about odd behavior
Hi All...
I have installed a single X100P card in my PC and am playing with Asterisk.
The wire I plugged into the X100P has two POTS lines on it, wired on the
RJ45 in the normal way.
I am getting odd behavior. It seems when I dial out that the X100P dials
both lines at the same time.
I have two questions.
First, I see that the X100P is only a single channel. Does this mean that

How to make an X100P answer only one distinctive ring cadence?
Hi All...
Is it possible to cause asterisk to answer some distinctive ring patterns
but not others? I have a POTS line plugged into an X100P and I would like *
to ignore one ring cadence that is answered by a fax machine. How would I
do that?
Thanks...

Dual X100P cards
I know the X100P cards are not supported by Digium any more, but for home office use, are they still acceptable? I have two POTS lines, one residential and one business line comming into the house. I'd like to get both into my * server and $15 total compared to > $100 for the newer TDMxxx card sure is desirable. Having said that, will the sound quality, functionality, stability, etc. be as

repost gain problem with asterisk and zaptel 1.4
Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with gain settings using a Wildcard
X100P and Zaptel 1.4 Beta 2 on Asterisk 1.4 beta 3. My transmit volume
between an IAX client (idefisk) and a POTS device through my 1.4 box is
great, but my receive volume is terrible. I can hardly hear a word they
say. I've cranked my gains up to 100, inserted the wcfxo module with
boost=1, but haven't had

asterisk install in a home with regular phones and a x100p
Hello all,
I have a question. I have an asterisk box setup with an x100p card
installed. I have about 3 VoIP phones connected to it. The x100p is connected
to my pots line. I also have regular phones connected the the pots line as
well like most normal people would. When I get an incomming call all the
regular phones ring and my VoIP phones ring. This is good. My question is
this. Say

X100P "rings" randomly when "phone" line makes call
Not sure if anyone experienced the same - or if anyone ever connected a POTS
phone to the "Phone" jack on an X100P card.
The POTS phone rings normally when the FXO receives a call. The POTS phone
can also make outgoing calls when FXO is not holding the line. This is
desired. But if a call connected to the POTS phone lasts longer than a
couple of minutes, Asterisk would receive

Multiple X100Ps -- order?
After over a month (well, ok, no more than an hour a day :) of planning,
getting hardware, tinkering and testing, I'm about to my Ultimate Home
Phone System (tm) online.
Connectivity to the outside world is provided by:
A. 1 POTS phone line connected through an X100P ($11/month, needed to
carry DSL)
B. 1 Vonage ATA186 connected through an X100P (needed for the rate
center :( )
C. 3 Broadvoice

Asterisk<>X100P<>Packet8
Noob here, my apologies in advance.
Recently my employer decide to stop paying for my home POTS line, so
I ordered packet8 for a home line instead of another POTS line, since
I really dislike my local phone company, and the POTS line without
any long distance would cost more than the $20 to packet8 with
unlimited US calling.
Anyway, this whole thing got me started thinking about VOIP a lot

X100P Manually Answer
I have an X100P used, at present, largely for outgoing calls. It shares the
single incoming POTS line with a number of analog phones. Is it possible to
talk the X100P (Zap/1) to answer a ringing call only if I ask it to? I'd
like to use only the SIP phone in my office, but let the analog phones
continue to work in the rest of the house (until I can afford FXS cards
anyway..)
I can force

Pots Extensions
Hi all,
I am either going daft or not reading things right.
I have just installed, (well 10 hours ago) a TDM40B and 3 X100P cards. I
have followed the examples for the conf files to the letter.
I can call the pots extensions OK from IAX clients, SIP clients and from the
incoming X100P cards.
But, if I pick up the handset to make a call all I get is the engaged tone
and the following message.

X100P Inbound Issue
Hello,
After much searching of voip-info.org and google, I'm finally giving in and asking the list.

Skutch AS-66 and an X100P
I finally got my X100P working and now I have a question.
I have several Skutch phone line simulators. My X100P works as expected with
both a POTS line and an analog PBX port, but when I use a phone line
simulator it doesn't answer the line. The phone line simulator doesn't power
the line until the phone set goes offhook. Asterisk shows the RED alarm and
then the alarm clearing but never

Choosing an FXO card
Folks,
I'm looking at buying an FXO card for my home Asterisk setup. The question I
have is, should I got for a the Digium Wildcard FXO or settle for the
winmodem that Digium sell? I have spoken to the UK distributor and they only
sell the Wildcard. They said that the quality of the modem was questionable.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Is the modem noticeably different

How to diagnose "pops" and "clicks"?
My setup is as follows:
Handset -> Sipura SPA 2000 -> Asterisk -> VoicePulse
and
Handset -> Sipura SPA 2000 -> Asterisk -> Digium X100P -> POTS
I notice when making VoicePulse calls (but *not* POTS calls through the
X100P) that there is significant "popping" and "clicking" on the line.
This isn't enough to interfere seriously with the call, and

Best FXO hardware for home use
Hi. I have been searching through old threads and various forums, but can't seem to find out what the consensus view is here on the best type of FXO hardware to use for a home asterisk implementation.
Specifically, should I buy a FXO ATA like the Sipura 3000, or a PCI form factor port like the Digium TDM400 series. I have read horrible things about problems with the X100P, so I have ruled

Is the X100P a WinModem?
So I've been on the Asterisk list for a long time. Mostly looking to set
it up as a cheap alternative to a commercial MeetMe bridge, as a for-fun
project.
I keep noticing the Wildcard FXO X100P sorta seems like a Winmodem.
Winmodems are basically a sound card chip tied to a pots port, where the
Winders driver takes on the MO/DEM functions in software. I've always
despised them as a data

BIG problem with multiple rings before pickup
Hi All...
I have a maddening problem...
I have Asterisk configured to pick up a line after 4 rings. I do this to
allow my fax machine to pick up a particular distinctive ring pattern, so I
don't have to pay for a dedicated fax line.
If someone calls the line, lets it ring 3 times and then hangs up, Asterisk
answers the line, and holds it off hook forever, constantly playing the

Newbie just starting out with *
Hey all...I'm brand new to * and I want to convert my home into a pbx
type setup. I've figured out that I want a Wildcard X100P to bring my
single POTS CO into my Linux box. My problem is that I'm sure sure what
I need to do to get my analog phones connected up into a structured
phone system. It *looks* like I can go the route of the Cisco Analog ->
VOIP for about $100 on ebay.
