AAH 0.06 - IAX Connection Over NAT Firewall
Hello all, I am having trouble getting my IAX based Voip provider setup. Any pointers are welcome. So here is the deal. I am registered up and I can make outgoing calls but incoming calls fail. Configs all look good I thought. My PBX is behind our firewall with a direct NAT of one to one for an external IP. IAX port is forwarded UDP and TCP to the internal IP. * shows good registration and

> -----Original Message----- > From: Mark Charlton [mailto:asterisk@mcwebtree.com] > Plus if you send your users to VoicemailMain(${CALLERIDNUM}) > they don't hear > it at all. > They just get "enter password". Yup. If you do that, the only time they hear it is during the initial setup call (if you have "forcename=yes" or

Upgrade *@home to CVS-HEAD
Hi I installed *@home 0.6 to play with the system, and learn. I tried AMP but didn't like it and so set forth into the conf files manually. I have it all set up how I want, all my extensions work etc. Reading this list and playing in the wiki and google, I get the impression *@home is great for learning, but has a few limitiations. I would like to upgrade my box to the latest stable cvs

Dutch VOIP-PSTN provider
Hi, I read a lot about US providers that can terminate a PSTN number for you and offer IAX or SIP connectivity. Does anyone know such a company in The Netherlands ? I read about Unet. Anyone with experience with them ? Any information is welcome. -- Michiel van Baak http://lunteren.vanbaak.info michiel@vanbaak.info GnuPG key: http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x7E0B9A2D

networking issues
Hello all, I'm quite new to the list, but experienced in linux. For the last several months, I've been trying to get some basic things working in WINE (eg. Internet Explorer). I'm running Ubuntu (Hoary and Breezy), and debian (Sarge). It appears that no matter what version (20040615, 20041019, 20050310, 20050930, 20050725, 0.90) I try to install (or build and install), I don't

VoIP dialtone?
Hi all, While pondering my choices for local dial tone service via a bunch of POTS lines or a T1, I began to wonder if perhaps there is another way. Are there VoIP dialtone providers? That is, could I use only my internet connection for voice calls and not have a separate T1/POTS bank for that? I guess I am imagining a company that gateways between the PTSN and the internet backbone.

Hello all - I'm just starting to play around w/ asterisk, and I've run into a seemingly simple problem that has really manged to frustrate me... I'm running the latest cvs version of *, and am trying to dial in to the default extention 1000 demo using x-lite. I can dial and hear the greeting no problem, but when I try and send any DTMF tones, I don't get any response. Is there

VoIP bad voice quality
Hi, We have Asterisk, running on a P4 box running Suse 9.1, making calls using IAX through SimpleTelecom and Nufone. What we are looking for is toll quality voice. The problem is that voice over calls routed through SimpleTelecom and nNufone occassionally breaks. We also have a digium card and the calls over the digium card using the Zaptel Interface have a very good quality. We

"No Authority Found"
In over three years of using Asterisk in the lab and also in real-world deployments and supporting other Asterisk users, the single most common problem I have encountered and seen others encounter is the message "No Authority Found" and the inability to call between machines when using IAX. This is always a configuration problem which is solved after some tinkering with the iax.conf,

integrated voip originator, to digitize audio once and only once?
Calling 7777 from a local extension on my local network, I get good voice quality from asterisk, and asterisk reliably recognizes my dtmf input. I set up a sipphone trunk (free) and called in to it via a separate sipphone account on another computer, and got slightly lower, but still good, audio quality. I set up a FWD trunk (free) and called in from the other computer, and got somewhat lower

Best VoIP provider
It does not look like Nufone is still in business, judging from the content on their site, which is very little. There is not even a configuration document to download, to connect to their network. The rates file is only for US/Canada calling. No international rates on this rates.csv file. I have signed up with a $5.00 account with them way back in November 2004. After signup, I havent received

Dial in modem speeds over VoIP?
Hi all, I like to have a dial in modem on my toll free number so that when I or my employees travel, they can always get in for net access to read email if no better method is available. Right now, my Panasonic KX-TD1232D PBX receives the call on a POTS line and routes it to an analog modem. The speeds achieved are around 24 kbps due to the digitization of the KX-TD1232D introducing
