Zapping around
Dear list, I am trying to learn how to use Zap-things in Asterisk. While loading Asterisk verbosely I get this error: [chan_zap.so]Warning, flexibel rate not heavily tested! => (Zapata Telephony w/PRI) == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/zapata.conf': Found Mar 12 17:19:01 WARNING[5563]: chan_zap.c:763 zt_open: Unable to open '/ dev/zap/channel': No such file or directory Mar 12

SUSE 9.2 and Zaptel channels
Of course I am not a kernel expert, so .. please be patient. I am investigating on my zaptel/zapata problem. As the main error message asterisk quits on mentions <'/dev/zap/channel': No such file or directory> I went peeking over there. [Asterisk Verbose Error Mar 13 20:43:35 WARNING[5779]: chan_zap.c:763 zt_open: Unable to open '/ dev/zap/channel': No such file or

zaptel make problems (long)
I know that this subject has been treated in the past! As a matter of fact reading some old messages about compiling zaptel I made a couple of tests after the first compiling failure to understand why I can't compile on a specific machine, but I do not know how to handle the results. The machine has SUSE 9.3, and an updated kernel (2.6.11.4-21.7-default; as shown below). YAST (the graphical

TDM - Analog Trunk - CallerID question
Hello list. I have a question about how to read the incoming calls' callerid on an FXO interface of a TDM 400 analog card; (it's one of those RED modules). Now -may this is the complexity adding step..- I have a GSM gateway attached to this FXO thing; incoming calls are processed as they should. But both when peeking on the CLI, as well as in the phone display I do not see the caller id.

Dear list, I am back with my problem compiling zaptel 1.0.9 . I am running SUSE 9.3, with kernel linux-2.6.11.4-21.7 I have the kernel sources on disk. YAST tells me they match the compiled kernel. > # ls -l /usr/src >total 1 >drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 280 2005-07-16 13:24 . >drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 344 2005-07-16 11:27 .. >drwxr-xr-x 25 root root 736 2005-07-16 12:12

what does "not found" mean in a DHCPRELEASE context?
I have a CentOS 4.6 server running dhcpd. One of my client devices (a Panasonic KX-HCM280A camera) is trying to get a lease from that server. I can see the device accept a lease (it is a reservation), however it always releases the reservation after about 25 seconds: Jul 10 10:30:49 stargate dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:80:f0:56:46:30 via eth0 Jul 10 10:30:49 stargate dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on

Asterisk & Timezones
Hi all, I have noticed something I can't solve regarding Asterisk (latest 1.6.0.x). My server is set at the GMT+2 timezone. The clock is ok (I can get the correct time at the terminal). But today I got a call at a time where Asterisk should have gone 'off business hours'. All log times are wrong by exactly 2 hours. As if Asterisk would just sit on GMT, ignoring the GMT+2

IMAPD fix for RH
You probably know this already, but the following notice appeared to bugtraq. As a side note the protocol on bugtraq seems to be designed to make a fix available before the announcement by providing one yourself or giving the maintainer a week's advance warning (M$ gets a lot longer warning and *still* fails to fix the bugs before bugtraq knows). Having said that M$ insists on allowing me

Two ADSL Lines either ECMP or BGP?
Hi - I am trying to find a Linux based solution for one of my clients, I want to bond two adsl lines into one, with redundancy (if one fails the other does all the work). I''ve been looking into ECMP (Equal Cost Multipath), I know BGP would work, but something like ECMP would be much simpler. I have full control of both ends of the connections and I can have both ADSL lines terminate in

bristuff-0.2.0-RC8n problems and kernel panic
Hi list! On a newly installed RHEL 4 box I'm trying to install bristuff-0.2.0-RC8n. Everything did compile but I am running into some problems with the zaphfc driver. First of all when I load zaphfc *before* zaptel (yes I know I shouldn't do that) I get a kernel panic and the box hangs. Not so nice, especially when you are trying to fix stuff from remote locations. But ok. Now for

Compiling Asterisk On SUSE 9.2

The problem comes during some preliminary checks: checking for ar... /usr/bin/ar checking for tgetent in -ltermcap... no checking for tgetent in -ltinfo... no checking for tgetent in -lcurses... no checking for tgetent in

TDM400P strangeness
Hi List, I have a test asterisk box with a TDM400P with 4 FXO modules plugged in. Yesterday I could use the box without any issues - no problems. This morning, the sound on the box was absolutely horrible. After some fiddling about, I have rebooted the box, and now asterisk refuses to start! Here's the message I get: Jun 9 10:45:53 WARNING[3297]: chan_zap.c:769 zt_open: Unable to

chan_zap.so ?
Hi, I've a little problem with my asterisk server. I have managed an asterisk server for a few months one. Today, I wanted to restart it and when I did it, my asterisk server didn't want to start again. I looked at the various messages in /var/log and the same thing appears. Some of the behaviours you observe may be due to the same bug I encountered: https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2019-July/116475.html Especially, regarding the ?successful' field for auth, which does not exists and is really named ?success', and which is never set anyway. > Le 15 ao?t 2019 ? 23:57, Matt Bryant via dovecot <dovecot at dovecot.org> a ?crit : > > Is

wildcard/FXO config
Trying to config the latest Asterisk/zaptel with an Digium Wildcard and a single X100m FXO interface connected to a POTS analog line. Build and install of both work ok - I'm using Suse 8 on a dual Pentium box. I load the driver with "modprobe wctdm" and the LED on the wildcard lights up. Then I start Asterisk with "asterisk -vvvgc" and asterisk fails to start. The
