Skype for Asterisk, Skype For SIP
Hi, I'm trying to integrate Skype and Asterisk but I'm only interested in these 2 things: 1) allow any Asterisk SIP extension to call any Skype "user". I do not need to call landlines via Skype. 2) allow Internet Skype "users" to call my Asterisk PBX Skype "user" and route the call to a specific Asterisk SIP extension. At first, I thought it would be

sorta OT: Bounty for Click to Call plugin for IE
I'm in process of transitioning a number of offices to a hosted virtual pbx from Junction Networks. It's a combination of OpenSER and Asterisk. They have a nice click-to-call extension for Firefox, but I need the equivalent for IE so that it can work with our CRM system. Junction told me that they have a bounty on offer for this if someone's interested in doing the work. Would the

Skype-to-Asterisk(SIP): progress
I'm sitting in the Emerging Telephony Conference, so this seems a particularly apt place to pre-announce this... I've wanted to be able to gateway calls between Skype and Asterisk for a while, which of course would require some type of protocol converter (IAX or SIP to Skype, probably.) This of course is directly not in Skype's interest, since they would like to keep the network

SKYPE - Authenticate incoming call automatically
Hi All, After getting licences for Skype for asterisk a while ago I finally got around to setting up a server with two channels and setting up a bcp on the skype end. The idea behind this is the following: Users can dial into the PBX, get authenticated and only after authentication get access to internal PBX extensions. I CAN do this with a PIN, no sweat, but from a user perspective it

Hi All, At the usual time, 12 Noon ET on Friday April 3rd, we expect Michael Robertson to join the discussion to filed questions about OpenSky and Gizmo5. I have been testing all of these Skype to X methods except SIP for Skype since I have no word from them. I can tell you that we've had good results with bith Skype for Asterisk and OpenSky. In fact, I am currently accepting calls to my

Skype for SIP
By the way, I am currently testing this product from Skype. I would like to be able to receive calls ona Skype name on our pbx. 1) It works beautifully and you don't have to do anything in particular. 2) It's disproportionally expensive which is why I want Skype for Asterisk to work. SfS costs $5 per month per channel just to test the beta! I find that insane, but I wanted to test it.

Hi All, I face some problems when I try to introduce Asterisk to my customers / friends. They are not convince as they are currently using Skype and asking me what is/are the different between this two. Does anyone in the community can provide such a comparison chart? What's your opinion ? Thanks and Regards, Stephen

Asterisk bounty PRI 2B channel transfer for NI2 PRI line
Maintainer: Express Line Date opened: January 17, 2006 Status: Open Value of bounty: $5000.00 Licensing for code: We retain intellectual rights to the underlying source code. We need Asterisk (stable version) to be able to perform a 2B channel transfer for a NI2 B8ZS PRI line. We can't use a channelized T1 at the time for our work. Call to Skype network
Hi everyone, Is it possible to call from your Asterisk server to the Skype network? i.e., let's say I would like to call from an extension from my Asterisk PBX machine to a Skype account, is this possible? I did a little bit of searching and they were talking about that's only possible with windows machines, is this true? greetz, Tim

Skype for Asterisk???
Not sure if anybody noticed, but it seems like Skype For Asterisk is out. $66 per channels, pretty pricey http://store.digium.com/productview.php?product_code=1SFA0001 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Asterisk as answering machine
I have connected a PSTN line to a Digium FXO card. There is also an ordinary analogue phone attached to the same line. The Asterisk answers the line on the first ring. I would like it to wait for a few seconds so that someone can answer the PSTN line with an analogue phone. This would allow a person to directly pick up the line if they wanted to or if not, let it go to the Asterisk where it

Asterisk's DANGEROUS Transfer CDR's
Hi All, PLEASE READ if you depend on Asterisk CDR's and support transfers. Apologies for the shout but I'm desperate to get others to agree Asterisk has a big problem with the CDR's that are generated for transfers. I can understand why not too many people are interested as transfers are complicated and messy. However for those of us having to support transfers and depending on

Asterisk VS. Skype
This might have been talked about before, but I'm posting anyhow. I've got down to testing Asterisk yesterday, and I couldn't help but compare it with Skype (a Windoze only product, yet, but extremely efficient for some reason). Skype has almost unperceptible delay (LAN), while there is almost half a second of delay regardless of the codec on Asterisk. An even if we were to

Skype for Asterisk - RIP
Have not been able to confirm this, anyone heard this from another source? http://bit.ly/jCj5uj "We expect that users of Skype for Asterisk will be able to continue using their Asterisk systems on the Skype network until at least July 26, 2013. Skype may extend this at their discretion." -Matt

Is SKYPE a threat or should we do something (together)
Skype is very succesfsfull and get more and more users, ... we can ignore them, accept them or do something,... My suggestion is that we try to do something, ... If we would peer to each other, than we get soon also a great amount of users together, and than our service becomes more valuable, ... Let's discuss advantages and disadvantages! bye Ronald -- Ronald Wiplinger (CEO of

Snom 360 record button?
Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I haven't seen an obvious answer on the wiki that I remember. Has anyone managed to make the record button on the snom 360 fire off the Monitor() application? I don't see a bounty, and googling for "snom 360 record button asterisk" returns tons of product specification pages. (Joy!) I don't see a bounty for it, and the only
