Is anyone using asterisk in a small call center
Hello - I have just joined the lists and am considering installing quite a
few * systems.
I am looking for an IP-PBX with both solid standard features and
call-center/ACD features.
I have read the documentation and the list archives and did not see any
references to real call-center type reporting and queuing.
Is anyone out there using * in this kind of environment? The features I

strange permission denied problem
I built an embedded box which uses mount.cifs to mount network
shares. I've shipped several of these and all are working fine except
for one, which gives me permission denied on certain files:

I suspect that the gold layer on edge connectors 30-odd years ago was
a lot thicker than on modern cards. We are talking contacts on 0.1"
spacing not some modern 1/10 of a knat's whisker. (Off topic) I also
remember seeing engineers determine which memory chip was at fault and
replacing the chip using a soldering iron. Try that on a DIMM!

SIP.Conf - bindaddr per peer?
hI,
Trying to understand how to setup two PRIs in sip.conf. Using Asterisk
1.4.23.
I have a provider giving me two PRI (different rate centers) through SIP.
Both PRI comes in from the same IP on the provider side, but go to two
different IPs (both on the same box) on my side.
How can I setup two different SIP peer, one for each of the PRIs I get, if
all I can use to differenciate them

You could also try playing with partimage here - similar to Ghost, curses
interface, Free software. I''ve not used this for Xenning systems but have
previously used it for backing up configurations of physical machines over
the network

Sorry but what does the ACL mean and its relation to the bindaddr?

Not new: I can remember seeing DEC engineers cleaning up the contacts
on memory boards for a VAX 11/782 with a pencil eraser c.1985. It's
still a pretty standard first fix to reseat a card or connector.

Reverse-ATA : Using PSTN lines to connect to Asterisk
Hi,
I'm looking for a few pointers on using ATA to connect Asterisk to the PSTN.
Basically, I'm running a Hosted PBX service, and in urban centers I can
usually get SIP or PRIs. Since I sell my customers SIP hardphones, the data
flow is like this:
Customer's SIP Hardphone ---- My own Asterisk ----- Outside lines
But when it comes to smaller villages (I deal with people in tiny

lightdm + xorg.conf + nvidia driver
Hello CentOS-Community,
I have to maintain a server that should be useable with VNC and some
software requires to run VirtualGL.
Also a nvidia graphic card is installed.
After downloading and installing the nvidia driver from nvidias homepage
and modifying
the xorg.conf as mentioned on the virtualgL-homepage,
I am not able to restart lightdm anymore.
Lightdm should be running, otherwise

56K Dialup and VOIP over same PRIs
Anybody have suggestions on having a 56K dialpool and VOIP
connections with an Asterisk box over the same set of PRIs? We've
done the PM3 with PRIs for just dialup, but are looking for a way to
integrate our Asterisk box and move our voice calls onto the same PRIs.

PRI failover to SIP trunk
Hello,
I've found a little documentation on voip-info and on the asterisk-
users list, although I was hoping for an example of a tried-and-true
failover setup between PRI and SIP.
We are an outgoing call center that uses asterisk 1.4 connected to 2
PRIs from the local telephone company in one group (g1) and a SIP
trunk from bandwidth.com. The PRIs are the primary outgoing service,

idmap LDAP branch never populates with Samba 3.4.1 - how do I debug ?
I've followed the instructions at
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix
which concerns how to setup idmap correctly with Samba > 3.0.25. I have
a trusted domain which has been successfully established. However, no
SID entries populate beneath ou=idmap and any logon to the trusted
domain will result in:

Samba 3.4.2 Trusted Domain Logon gives: "Conflicting domain portions are not supported for NETLOGON calls"
Hi,
I'm specifically have a problem with idmap entries not being created in
my LDAP backend for trusted domain logons - Local accounts appear to be
fine.
I have installed the Sernet enterprise packages from:
http://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/experimental/rhel/5/i386/
I'm preparing the server as follows:
1. smbpasswd -w '<password>'
2. net rpc trustdom establish SANDBOX

Protection switching on PRIs.
Has anyone figured out a way to instantaneously swing over PRIs bearing
calls in progress to another media gateway without dropping them?
Obviously, this would require a DACS of some sort. But I am thinking
that it is possible to swing T1s over in a DACS without actually
causing the endpoint to reframe as long as the other endpoint is kept
in sync.
So, it'd be nice, for example, to bring

PRI maintenance commands
With multiple inbound PRIs (and hunting across them) coming to multiple
[asterisk] servers it is important to be able to do administration, i.e.
control which PRIs in the same hunt group take (and which don't take)
calls from telco at any given period of time.
Our pre-asterisk platform uses SERVICE commands for this purpose to put
B-channels
into 'out-of-service'/'maintenance'

Asterisk dimensioning (IVR, mass calling)
Hi,
I presently have 6 PRIs of IVR traffic that I am planning to migrate from
Dialogic on SCO-Unix to Digium-Asterisk on Debian. Here is the general
description of the traffic in question :
- IVR system, 138 PRI channels (6 PRIs, multiple D-channel)
- Some traffic from TV ads, so all traffic typically arrives within a few
seconds
- Up to 12-15 simul. outbound (external) conferencing calls for

Crackly Prompts but Voice OK
Server A has 4 PRIs coming into it, and provides a SIP connection to
Server B. When we call into server B via a DID from one of Server A's
PRIs, we get crackly sound on recorded playback only (prompts, IVR,
voicemail instructions, etc.), but not on actual live voices once you're
talking.
Server A provides this same service to other servers and problem does
not appear in those cases.
