Trying to get 2 SIP phones to work
Im new to Astererisk. I compiled the latest CVS and setup the server. It looks like things are working. I'm running kphone, x-lite and sjphone to test things out. The kphone (local to the asterisk server) can call and receive calls from any of the 2 windows machines. The first windows phone I start I can send/receve calls the second one I cannot. I. Sipura SIP vs. IAX
I'm just curious why Sipura isn't using free IAX protocol with their devices instead of SIP? With IAX NAT traversal would have been easier, so why are they using SIP. Is there any politics in it? -- #Joseph

Pri Gateway Hardware
Does anyone have any experience using a PRI gateway, I am looking for a way to have multiple asterisk boxes use one PRI, and send that over the network. I herd there are copper gateway devices (like a X100P card, only it registers with asterisk using sip, and it doesn't have to be physically connected to the box) Does anyone have any experience with a PRI gateway? And could tell me the cost

Static problems with Asterisk + Polycom phones
Hey all, I'm having problems where there is significant static when making SIP -> PSTN calls. SIP -> SIP and SIP -> VM calls are totally clear and fine. Here's the setup: Polycom 601,501, and ten 301s. Digum 2400 TDM card w/echo cancelling, 12 FXO ports. The TDM card is on IRQ 5 with nothing else on it. Searchable Asterisk-users archive available
For those newbies who seem to not know google exists, I've setup a searchable forum located at http://asterisk.keystreams.com/ . Yes some of the threads are doubled up, but that sort of conversion is not perfect so just use the search feature. It currently has 2002,2003, 2004, and Jan/Feb of 2005. It will *not* be updated in real time (at least not for now) Please direct

"find" switch to find files of a certain size?
Is there a switch in "find" (or some other command besides find) that'll let you find files larger than a specified size? My file system is 88% full and I'd like to see where the biggest space hoggers are. PG

Screen blacked out
I have a CentOS 4.3 workstation I use for experimentation on my desk at work. It was plugged into an old LG 14" monitor, and I switched the video cable to a Samsung 17" LCD without rebooting. The screen resolution was set to 800x600 on the 14" monitor, and the display worked fine at 800x600 after switching to the Samsung 17". When I changed the resolution to 1024x764, the

CentOS on Dell Inspiron 640m laptop
I ordered and just received today a new Dell Inspiron 640m laptop (it also goes by the name E1405). Anyone tried installing CentOS on this laptop? It's the wireless drivers I'm most concerned about; it's got the Dell 1390 internal wireless card (not the Intel wireless). Anyone have some feedback, on the wireless or any other issues, on running CentOS on this laptop? Thanks Paul

Restoring data from disk w/ messed up partition tables
I had the electricity go out the other day. When my Centos 4.3 workstation came up, I said yes when it got to the prompt "Unclean shutdown, force filesystem check?" prompt. It ground away for awhile and then said something about a bad superblock. Yikes! I thought, that's a bad sign. After a reboot, I got nothing but a grub> prompt. I tried booting into rescue mode using the

Does anyone have a working proxyARP setup?
If you have a working proxyARP setup, will you please post it? I''ve tried to insert a Linux box between the DSL connection and the switch, but I''m getting nowhere. Everything works correctly when all the servers in this network use the switch to get to the DSL. Any box directly connected to the DSL also works correctly. http://www.sjdjweis.com/linux/proxyarp/ makes it sound

[OT] Linux/CentOS Volunteer or PT Work
Hi All, I'm pretty new to this list and to CentOS, so forgive me if this kind of thing is shunned. I have really enjoyed following some threads on this list and learning what everyone out there is doing with the OS. I actually got started on CentOS when researching how to study for the RHCE without forking out big cash for Red Hat licenses, a donation is coming soon. Anyway, I'm
