IAX hardphone
Are there any IAX speaking "hardphones" out there?
If so, can anyone offer comment on their quality?
Thanks!

How do i "talk" to the IAXy...? (Newbie Alert)
Hi,
hoping that experienced hands will quickly show me the right way: after a
fruitless web search i am turning to this list with my rather elementary
question: is there any other way to communicate with the IAXy besides using
special utility software that needs to be compiled under UNIX?
Here is the story: about two months ago, after some not very satisfactory
attempts at using SIP (my phone

FARFON lives!
Some of you have been following our progress on
http://farfon.convergence.com.pk as we blundered our way through the
development of a low-cost ethernet IP phone that does IAX and augments the
client options currently available for the kick-assterisk server.
With help from the denizens of #asterisk and kind words of advice from Mr.
Spencer and the rest of the gang ... we're proud to have

IAX Devices Recommendation
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Does anyone have any recommendations on an IAX Desktop Telephone or ATA
Device. I currently have 2 of the SIPURA-841's on my local network and
now I am wanting to try an IAX Device at my remote office since I think
that it would be easier to configure through various routers than a SIP
Device. I just started to look at the Digium IAXy Single FXS

IAXy's apparantly failing in the field
I am not sure if this is the place for Digium user-to-user discussion,
but...
We have deployed many (20+) IAXy's in the field. At a couple of
locations, the IAXy's have just stopped working after 1 or 2 days use.
No lights go on, no DHCP lease is renewed as far as we can tell, and of
course no dialtone and no registration with the server.
Has anyone else experienced high failure rate

IAXy - anyone using them yet?
I haven't seen much activity on the list concerning Digium's IAXy standalone
FXS device. Are they worth $100 ? Do they integrate well with * as an
extension's FXS ?

VoIP software for MAC OS older than "X"?
Hello,
is there anybody reading this who has experience with VoIP (IAX or not) on
Macintosh computers? If so, have you ever seen or heard of (even an
experimental, i.e., never marketed) VoIP application for any of the older
Mac OSs, such as 9, 8, or 7?
I can't quite believe that VoIP is such a recent idea that it was invented
only *after* Mac OS X had become firmly established, but so far my

Cost of IP Phones, or Isn't It Just Software?
I took a little foray into pricing out IP Phones for my home pbx
yesterday. $75-$750 seems to be quite a range, so I took a closer look.
Cisco, for example, has different models such as the 7940 and 7960 which
seem to only differ in the software. And buying a Cisco 7920 should
cost you $500 w/o a license, and $200 more with a license? It seems to
me that these prices are substantially

Eezee phone?
I'm just wondering if anyone knows the story with these...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5721202362&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
He claims they support IAX2 and SIP... but almost no history on the account selling them. I didn't see anything in the wiki about this company either..
Does anyone have any history with these phones?
Thanks,
Jared

Asterisk at CeBit 2005
Hi there,
I just wanted to point out that Asterisk will be present at CeBit this year.
We gathered some money from sponsors and were able to afford a booth together
with a training-company. We'd be happy to find others joining us at the booth
somewhere between 10th and 16th of March in Hannover, Germany :-)
Kind regards ...

IAXy Provisioning Using Windows
For anyone playing around with IAXy(S100i) devices, I am making the
following available:
Windows IAXy Provision v1.00
This is a from-the-ground-up development of a means of provisioning IAXy
devices using a Windows environment. For some users, being bound to Linux
for IAXy provisioning is not viable or convenient in some cases. This
application provides a GUI data entry for the various IAXy

IAXY codec support and questions..
Hi..
I have to setup an extension in a remote location that will use a
cordless analog telephone.. I am looking at the IAXY to do this for
me..Basically the data path will be as follows...
[Asterisk] == (NAT) == {Internet} == (NAT) == ATA -- Handset
Since there are two NAT boxes in the path I know SIP won't work.. I also
don't want to move the Asterisk box to the internet side of the

Iaxy clicking
Hi,
I have three Iaxy devices (s101i) parts. Two of them seem to work fine.
The third plays a loud repeating click sound when an analog phone is plugged
in. I can provision all of them, and make calls to all of them. The
clicking one will blink when a call is incoming, but no audio from the call
can be heard on the handset, and the caller only hears silence. The same
handset works on the

iax.conf qualify=yes not working?
We have many IAXy devices in the field now.
In all cases, in iax.conf, we have "qualify=yes", so that using "iax2
show peers", we can see whether or not the device is currently online.
In some cases, the IAXy device and/or Asterisk are not communicating
their qualification, because "iax2 show peers" shows the device as
status UNKNOWN. However, when a user picks up

IAXy - no dailtone
I have a brand new IAXy I'm playing with. I do not get a dialtone on
the phone, or any response at ll on the phone. No sound, no dialing, no
ringing. The phone and wire are tested and known to be good. I think I
have it setup correctly. When I give the iaxprov command I get this:

IAXy and DHCP
Hi,
I've got an IAXy, and provided it with connection
data - unfortunately didn't provide a fixed ip address,
but left with dhcp.
Everthing went fine, and I could work a while with it.
After a restart of IAXy, it didn't negotiate a new
IP address, nor used the old one. I even restarted
the DHCP server and cleared its cache. No success.
I went to another office with a different

security to an IAXy? Is there a silent majority who loves

IAXy Configuration
I can't seem to get this device to grab an ip from dhcp. We have a
working dhcp server (unfortunately it is on Windows), but I don't show
any leases requested by the iaxy.
Anyone have any ideas?
The ethernet and phone lines are plugged in before the device is powered.
Thanks,
Erik
