context wide variable scope
Maybe i missed this somewhere, but is it possible to define a variable with a scope of the current context? I know i can define a system wide variable, and i can define one that is valid for the duration of the channel, but is it possible to define a variable that comes into scope for every channel that comes into a context? I don't think so, but i wanted to make sure. - jeremy --

asterisk, callerid name and cisco 2600
Doe anyone have Caller ID name working on incoming calls with the following setup: cisco 2611XM recieving calls on a PRI. cisco talks SIP to the asterisk box. Phones (cisco 7940s) talk SIP to asterisk. I currently have verified the cisco router is receiving caller ID name from the ILEC, and it appears to be sending it to the asterisk. But, it looks like it comes in after the call, and *

FW: Problems with two trunks
Update on this: I found that by changing insecure = very to insecure = invite, adding the second trunk no longer stopped calls working. I've read the documentation on this switch and still don't see how it applies/is meant to get used. Anyway, with this change in place, the following may help: asterisk*CLI> sip show registry Host Username

Hi, I am attempting to setup an asterisk server, current specs: CentOS release 5 (Final) Asterisk 1.4.11 Asterisk-gui checked out from SVN last week I started with a fairly basic setup involving one VOIP provider who provided one dial in number, and a couple of handsets. Config files are below. It was pretty much totally built by Asterisk-gui, except for the fact I had to add

menu.c32 empty label?
The attached config works, but gives 2 error messages that get covered up by the GUI screen so fast I cannot read them. I think they are probably about having 'LABEL' with nothing after it. I was trying to follow the example in menu.doc but somehow I'm doing it wrong. Please consider helping me figure out how to get the same resulting GUI menu without any error messages. I am using

Call waiting notification
Hi everyone, We are running Polycom 601's. I can't seem to find anything to say one way or another on this issue, so I figured I would ask. I have call waiting notification working on the phones when a user is on the phone. However, is it possible to see the notification on the screen or hear it on the line when it is in the "dial" status, IE I just pick the receiver off

extlinux issue
Trying again since the mailing list says I have a 'suspiscous header'. I have been told to get linux running on two HP DL360G4p machines (ancient rackmount xeon stuff). Unfortunately, while isolinux boots fine from CDROM, and extlinux can boot a USB stick, I cannot get extlinux to boot from the CCISS hard disks (two disks in hardware raid 1 configuration). I searched on google a lot,

problems booting isolinux
Hello List, I have used isolinux for years without problems. Recently I decided to upgrade from 3.09 to 3.11. Every CD I create can be read on my Vectra (Pentium 3) and all other Pentium 3 boxes, but all my Pentium 4 boxes will not boot (they ignore the CD and boot from hard disk). The bochs VM will boot the CDs fine just like the Pentium 3 machines. I have tried 3.09 (which worked
