ATA186 SIP Outbound Fax Calls
All, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Cisco ATA186 (SIP image) and outbound faxing with Asterisk. Inbound faxs from PSTN into * and on to the ATA work fine but outbound faxs receive congestion from *. I've got packet dumps from both sides and everything appears normal but after about 3 seconds the * servers sends the AS5300 a CANCEL and sends the ATA a '503 Service

SPA-2000
Hi, I have not implemented any of the spa-2000's yet. Do they work ok with asterisk? Is the 2000 capable of having 2 FXS extensions off each one or is it two fxs ports with the same extension?

* and Fax
Hi, I think this is one area that needs to be developed. I am curently implementing a system for my home so cannot really justify the cost of financially supporting the development of this when all I really need to do is buy a telephone extension lead for my existing fax modem!!! I am more than willing to devote some testing/documentation time (I am not really a programmer) if that helps.

Fax with SPA-2000's?
I've been trying to get fax reception to work using an SPA-2000 to ring the fax machine or modem that's taking fax calls. I was curious if anyone else had tried something similar, and if so, had any luck getting it to work reliably. I've been able to get it to work, but it isn't reliable. (Pages/lines of black dots result more frequently than not.) The incoming lines are FXO

Sip phones how to dial a # sign?
Hi list! I have some sip phones and Sipura ATA 2000's. However after dialling a number I need to dial a # to control a device. When I dial # Asterisk kicks in and puts the call on hold. How can I change this? Thx!! Remco

Clarification - FAX on local network
Ok, ok, I know there has been plenty of discussion on asterisk and fax - from this I understand: 1) First and foremost, use g.711 ulaw 2) Packet loss, etc...makes faxing over the internet unreliable My need is for a fax to come in on a X100P and be forwarded to a fax machine on the local lan. I don't currently have any fxs as I'm using all sip phones at this point. I see the

Sipura 2000 w/fax machine oddities
I'm really trying to understand this. I have a Sipura 2000, brother MFC, and SpanDSP set up on asterisk. because asterisk softfax was not working well, i set up faxes to goto line2 on the sipura. this is working fine, i have only tested a few short faxes, but already my completion rate was 100% vs 5-10% that spandsp and asterisk gave me. here's the odd part. using the fax machine, I

Sipura Adapter SPA-2002
Hello. Has anyone run into problems accessing voicemail with the Sipura SPA-2002's? Our SPA-2000's work fine (registers fine, able to make and receive calls properly & also able to access voicemail). We've configured the 2002's exactly the same way. However, with the SPA-2002 we're unable to access the voicemail system (though it does register fine and is able to

Fax with Asterisk and Sipura 2100
I know the subject of faxing has been covered in some detail, but I was wondering if anyone has a hardware configuration similar to ours that has faxes working successfully and would be willing to share any settings/insight. We are unable to fax reliably with a Sipura 2100 connected to Asterisk. We do not route calls over the Internet and our network has very low latency. The Asterisk

ATA with reliable FAX?
I am looking for an ATA that has had very reliable results when passing FAX over IP. I was thinking of testing the Cisco (not Linksys) ATA 186 I1, ATA 186 I2, ATA 188 I1. This is what I'm looking for: FAX -> PTSN -> through Asterisk -> ATA -> Fax Machine. I have QoS from PSTN entry to ATA on the network so I can assure precedence. What has everyone out there been using

Flash Zap trunk from a Sipura
Hello, In my quest to create several proof of concepts for what can be done with Asterisk, I've run into a bit of a problem. I have a pair of SPA-2000's acting as off premise extensions for an analog line. When a call waiting call comes in, the caller id information makes it though the ULAW codec and displays on the caller id box, however asterisk doesn't seem to want to pick

Fax and PRI
I'm setting up a small office PBX on asterisk, and I've got to the point where I have to decide on what to do about FAX. The current situation is: PRI (E1) connected to an E100 and sip hard phones on their own network. I'd like to add some very limited fax capability to the system. Basically we need to send a couple of faxes a month, and receive about the same number. My options

Problem installing printer drivers in Samba
Hi, After using the client driver for a long time, I want to give a try to the drivers installed on Samba server. I am using the how-to at http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/classicalprinting.html It goes fine up to "installing drivers into [print$] using APW". I can see a list of drivers files growing into W32X86. But when I try to access the properties of a

GSM gateway hardware
Hi All, I am looking for a GSM VoIP gateway for use with Asterisk. I have come across VoiceBlue by 2N but it's price is beyond my reach. Are there any other alternatives out there? I've scanned across the mail achieves for an answer to this without much success, if the question has already been answered kindly point me to the resource. Allan.

fax possibilities
I am trying to set up a linux based faxing solution for a client, and have found that the modem they have (ancient dataplex external unit) just isn't up to the job. It talks to some remote fax machines but not others. A new external modem ranges from AUD$75 to AUD$400, which got me thinking of other possibilities... #1 FXO PCI card (more expensive for 1 port, probably cheaper for 2+) #2

SPA-2000 Dropped calls
Been having a problem with my two Sipura 2000's dropping calls from the SPA-2000 side. Seems the calls are dropped right before the "Next Registration" time. Calls drop about ever 60 minutes or so. I have dialed from one port to the other and let it sit. After about 60 minutes or so the calls get dropped. System details are below Asterisk ver. CVS-HEAD-11/27/04-23:42:45 RHEL 3

Sipura endpoints
Anyone have experience with Sipura's? Anyone know if they offer a warranty? Would like opinions on these, good or flame. We bought *one* to test with and it died, can't even get a response from Sipura "support". Could anyone recommend another device to replace these? Prefer 1 or 2 port design. Ty :-)

fax receive using TDM400P
Guys. Ive been testing how to receive faxes using TDM400P cards and so far, after playing with gains, echocancell and echotraining on zapata.conf.. Ive ha dno luck, faxes come in as garbage or broken or with blank lines. Anybody has successfully done this? Any tips.. Also I have some ideas: 1. Is it really possible to get fxes on a fax machine using ATAs like the sipura 2002? Even using ulaw
