Fwd: Re: Asterisk as a Condo door opener/intercom
Asterisk as a phone system makes perfect sense in a condo. You can get all the DID's you want and eliminate costs for the owners. You can offer standard FXO for people who don't care and IP sets for people who want to "upgrade" to feature sets. Your door openner is a piece of cake. 1. Create an option in your dialplan only in the "from-access-door" context that reads

[PATCH]add usb-ver format check to avoid usb-list error and incorrect usb-ver saved into config file
Add usb-ver format check to "usb-hc-create". In original file, "usb-hc-create" allows usb-ver parameter as "2/2.0/2.0aaa". In low level hc create, it only uses the integer part (that is "2"), so there is no problem. But 2/2.0/2.0aaa will be saved into VM config. After that, while doing "usb-list", it cannot handle "2.0/2.0aaa" and will

APC SmartUPS switches off with no reason
Hello One our customer has two Linux HP-branded servers powered from "clasic" APC Smart-UPS 2200 RM 2U (p/n SUA2200RMI2U). It is connected to first server via RS232c port with APC-branded cable. We have installed NUT 2.6.4 with apcsmart driver. This setup works fine for months. Two weeks ago all the hardware powered from the UPS started to switch off occasionally while on line

using asterisk to do remote control
> If you just want to control a couple of digital points this hardware may > be overkill, but it is cool stuff. For smaller implementations you can just use the outbound control lines (DTR & RTS) on an RS232C port. That can give you control of two on/off devices. They only sink about 20ma so isolate them with a solid state relay or something. A C program to turn on/off is fairly

Not all files synched - hard link problems???
I am sorry if this has been covered before: I have done a couple of futile searches in the bug reporting system and is there any way to search the archive? I am having a strange symptom: I am synching directories (that have very long file names, by the time the full path is specified) and a lot of hard links. It seems that the directory is being copied piecemeal - that is, if I run rsync enough

[RFC][LLD][ARM] Initial ARM port for LLD
Hello everyone, The review http://reviews.llvm.org/D20951 implements initial support for the ARM architecture in LLD. To keep the patch size down, and to avoid the complexities of interworking between ARM and Thumb, there is just enough support for an ARM only Hello World to link and run on ARM Linux [*]. My main aim is to get this functionality committed as the basis of an ARM port and would

Questions on the state of the UPS market
As previously noted, I need to replace a UPS and want to do my product research in public so others can benefit. The information I elicit on this thread will be merged into the UPS-HOWTO. I went to my local computer-equiuipment big-box store, a place called MicroCenter in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. I looked at the range of "UPS" devices they sell and was *completely* confused. Bear in

cygwin 1.7.x rsync 3.0.6 hangs at arbitrary reproducible points in transfers
Since upgrading to cygwin 1.7.x, I'm unable to complete rsync jobs to a Debian machine (running stable). cygwin rsync is 3.0.6; Debian is 3.0.3. The transfer goes for a while and then just gets stuck halfway through an arbitrary file. If I cancel and restart, same thing (but gets a little further). If I manually copy the file in question, it will usually go a bit longer and then get stuck

Why Aastra uses 48V whereas other IP Phones use much less, i.e. 5-12V
Hi, Why Aastra phones use more electricity, i.e. 48VDC whereas other phones use much less, e.g. Grandstream and Linksys both use only 5VDC. I first thought it was because of PoE, but the ones with 5VDC also run fine on PoE. What is the difference in power consumption then? -- Zeeshan A Zakaria -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

rsync on cygwin is hanging
I am trying to backup a Windows machine to a Linux machine using rsync (over ssh). I have been able to successfully sync a few files at a time, but when I try to backup an entire tree the process hangs on both machines. I believe this is a different problem than one posted on here before, but I did try this patch with no success:

OT: Grandstream power supplies..
Hi, Quick question to all the electronics gurus out there.. I unpacked my second GS phone yesterday (had it for about a month!) and set it up.. This morning the power supply is dead.. I have looked for a new one online (In the UK using Maplin let me know if you know a better place.) becasue it would probbaly take too long to get one sent from China or the US and I need to get that station

libLTO C API stability policy
Hi all, libLTO is exposing a very “stable” (in the sense of immutable) C API to be used by linkers (and binutils tools) that manipulate bitcode (like when performing LTO). I’m looking into relaxing the stability concern and design a policy for this API that would allow to deprecate and remove some the APIs exposed here. The MacOS linker (ld64) is one the users of libLTO, but there are others

RS-485 over a half duplex serial in Centos 6.5
Hi, I am trying to make a program in C to communicate with a temperature sensor over my serial port that uses RS-485 and is a half duplex. I am however having trouble getting the device into RS-485 mode, is it possible to use RS-485 mode in Centos 6.5 or does it only support RS-232 mode?

sio vs uart vs ucomm problems / differences
We are in the process of migrating one of our embedded apps to use uart by default instead of sio in RELENG_7 in prep for the day when sio eventually disappears. Unfortunately, the application doesnt want to work with uart with puc backed devices, but still works with sio. Stranger still, the app works with the uart driver when uart attaches to the built in com port on the isa bus. However,

OpenStep (NeXT) and TTY modes
OpenStep, apparently, does not initialize new pty/tty modes to a sane default. I'm thinking this code snippet, added to tty_parse_modes() before the for(;;) loop should suffice: #ifdef HAVE_NEXT tio.c_oflag |= ONLCR; tio.c_lflag |= ECHO; #endif /* HAVE_NEXT */ Also, I've noticed that "ssh -t next_host stty" gives different output than an interactive session to the same

Need to test serial port connection
I recently bought a new UPS, and I''m attempting to use nut to monitor it. Following setup instructions everything seemed to go well until it came to testing the connection, which failed. There is just one serial connector on the computer, so I set it to monitor /dev/ttyS0. Either that is wrong, or communication is failing. I''ve been told to try minicom to monitor it,
