UK (British Telecom) Caller ID again
I've followed the recent thread on caller id with UK British Telecom networks (where the caller id data is delivered before the first ring). My understanding is that if I use a recent CVS head (e.g. CVS-HEAD-09/18/04-17:45:52) and a TDM400 with FXO modules, all I need to do is include the line: usecallerid=uk In my zapata.conf (in the [channels] section) I've done this, but I get: Sep

Seeking advice about ISDN BRI Cards
Hi, please whoever has some expertise in choice of BRI ISDN cards, please restore my faith in community support :) (on private email I can probably explain more than fits for a public forum) Most I'd like to ask is about what to choose, out of what is available... My locality is United Kingdom, lines from British Telecom (BT), but any advice / pointers (I googled around already) are

TDM400P digium card
Okay everyone - I'm moving away from using sipura 841 phones. I'm starting to test with Polycom IP 501 phones. We plan to upgrade our server to a dual t1 but, for now we have a digium tdm400P with 4 analog lines coming into it. So my question is will upgrading the IP phones with my existing digium tdm400 card be enough to satisfy my users ? or is it really a combo deal needing to

Seeking advice about ISDN BRI Cards
Checkout Beronet ISDN cards and Berofix Gateway (appliance or pci card) Personally for my last installation I chose Berofix card which is rock solid and reliable, yet easily configurable. With berofix you don't need telephony drivers on the host system, the isdn card is detected as a NIC and all configuration is done using a web interface. Then you configure FreePBX a new trunk to use the

Hangup detection with TDM400 in UK
When a caller hangs up (e.g. after leaving a voicemail), my British Telecom exchange sends a continuous tone for about 15s and then silence. I can't get asterisk to recognise this tone as a hangup indication. I have tried indications.conf with both country=uk and country=us. My zapata.conf has busydetect=yes, callprogress=yes and I've tried setting busycount from 1 through 7 I am using

Multiple TDM400P's in a single machine
Hi All, Can someone give me a definite answer as to wether or not you can reliably run multiple TDM400P's in the same machine? I need 4 x FXO and 4 x FXS to connect to both the PSTN and existing key system, but I have seen several threads suggesting that this is not a supported configuration Thanks, Marc. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...

sipura ata 3000 UK (BT) CAllerid
Hi I wonder whether anyone got the Sipura ata 3000 to decode British Telecoms callerid and pass it to asterisk? The userguide seems to suggest that this is not possible, is that right? Conrad

Do I need a ring capacitor to use TDM400P cards in UK
Hello I have played about with a TDM400 card and plugged in some standard analog phones. I am using the card in FXS mode - for analog extensions. I did notice that one of my phones did not ring and I wondered why. I later read in Paul Mahler's book VoIP Telephony with Asterisk that in his section on the TDM400 on page 127 he says "In the UK, you may need an adapter that provides a

Voicetronix vs Digium FXO
One of the suggestions I got for dealing with my analog FXO woes was to look into using a Voicetronix card instead of the Digium. They're more expensive but if it worked better it may be reasonable. They indicated they were compatable with the CVS HEAD version of *. Can someone share with me their experiences with Voicetronix OpenLine and/or OpenSwitch cards with *? I'm specifically

Digium TDM400P vs Sangoma A200 for 2 x FXO
Evening all. I'm looking at building an Asterisk system for one of the projects of the Charity where I'm the SysAdmin. The project has two analogue phone lines - BT Featureline Compact, we're in the UK - that I'd like Asterisk to handle. My current quandary is which FXO interface to use. I've been looking at the Digium TDM400P and Sangoma A200, which are similar prices for

UK zaptel and zapata.conf for TDM400P
Has anyone got a sensible zaptel.conf and zapata.conf for 2 TDM400P's working with UK set-up. They're set-up with 7 analogue phones and 1 PSTN port. Currently zaptel.conf has fxoks=1-7 fxsks=8 loadzone=uk defaultzone=uk It's really zapata.conf that would be useful. Currently using the zaptel/asterisk that comes with Ubuntu (latest) which needed a bit of tweaking (1.2.16), but could

UK call initiating party hangup control on analog home lines
I suppose this is rather an informative e-mail than a question. However if people had similar experiences or could comment what the differences are in other countries or with business analog lines, it would be interesting. It took me a week until a BT engineer was sent to my home home, since BT tech support was unable to provide information about the problem. Problem: Calling party controls how

Configuring Patton SmartNode with ISDN2e and Asterisk
Hello Does anyone have any experience with configuring BT (British Telecom) ISDN2e lines to work with Patton SmartNodes - and then Asterisk? I have a Patton SmartNode 4638, which is now connected to 3 x ISDN2e lines - and in turn connected to our internal LAN. I'm having huge issues configuring the SmartNode to successfully "see" the ISDN channels - and to be honest, I'm

TDM cards
Hi, It's been forever since I dealt with POTS lines. We have a client that needs FXS and FXO support. If memory serves correct we used the TDM400P with fxs_gs/fxo_gs. What's the equivalent of that card today? TIA. Dovid -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Problem: Digium TDM400 with XOptionsFlex - Line Busy
Perhaps someone with more experience can help me solve this puzzle: Asterisk 1.4.18 on a Dell PowerEdge SC440, CentOS 5, 2.6.18-53.1.14.el5, Digium TDM400 with 3FXO(1-3) and 1FXS(4) Phone service is provided by XO Communications via their XOptionsFlex service (5 analog lines, 3 of which are used by Asterisk). For simplicity I refer to them as xx43, xx44, and xx45 - based on their phone numbers.

Static noise and server locked when using two 4FXO tdm400p pci cards
Hello all We have tested for a mounth or two an asterisk PBX using one T1 channel bank with 24 fxs and one TDM400P digium card with 4 FXO modules. This worked with minor problems, the most notorious being some sporadic static noice or failure in the first FXO module on the wildcard. Now we have a client with 12 pstn lines and 48 extensions and we are trying to deploy an Asterisk PBX server

Digium stopped TDM400P production: alternatives??
Hi, Digium stopped to produce TDM400P and the new TDM410 is too new to find it in our shops. The only alternative available is a "fully-compatible" Openvox product...but is it really "fully-compatible"? Any experience about Openvox products (card and zaptel versions, etc...)? Thank you! Giorgio.
