similar to: Fwd: usb 2.0 hardware problem

after installing this card centos 3.4 detected and configured it ok. i'm unable to use any device on the card. tryed it with creative thumbdrive (mass storage device) an samsung usb2 dvd writer. suspecting the card to be defective i replaced it but didn't help centos detected the via chipset alright and loaded the modules. any ideas?

Hi Is there a way to attach Usb thumbdrive serial number to mounted drive? I see that there is something in the Winecfg. but it does not seem to either save the serial when I put it. Maybe it is unfuncional. The reason I am looking for a solution for this is that I have Windows app that checks the usb drives real serial number. thanks

I am having the darnedest of times trying to get my WinPE to work off the syslinux loader. I used to use isolinux, and my isolinux config would just invoke the etfsboot.com file which i had renamed to loader.bin, and everything would work just fine off a cd. Hi I just grabbed an 8gig thumb drive, took disk 1 centos 4 i386, copied the isolinux directory files to my thumbdrive, then ran syslinux -sf /dev/sdc1 on the device plugged it into my laptop and it does not boot. My thumbdrive w/Syslinux and memdisk doesn't work on my Thinkpad laptop. But the thumbdrive does work on desktop platforms. And .. if i use Grub4dos with Syslinux .. it works on the Thinkpad Laptop.
