Booting to USB Pen Drive
I am trying to use Syslinux as my boot loader for a stripped down version of Knoppix (DSL) on a USB Pen Drive. I followed the instructions verbatim on http://rz-obrian.rz.uni-karlsruhe.de/knoppix-usb/knoppix-usb.html, but no luck. The system will start to boot to the USB, but gives a Kernel Panic. I will give all information that shows on the screen. After I select Boot from USB (which on my

PCI passthrough working on Xen 3!
Thanks to the kind person(s) who worked on this. I am using PCI passthrough right now and it works. I hope support is added for VT domains too; That would be extremely useful. So far I have tried a NIC, USB, and PCI Video. The NIC works flawlessly. USB works as long as the devices are present at the time the domain is started. Hotplugging USB devices seems not to work. Dundi Examples
Can someone show me how to set up DUNDi, I will be using it to connect 14 asterisk servers internally. I don't want to use it on the external world. If anyone has any examples of connecting 2 or 3 (if their is a difference) machines in a DUNDi co-operation that would be helpful. Johnathan Falk Network Administrator Clinton Community Schools

Inquiry abount Asterisk "extensions.conf"
Dear All Can you please let us know how we can modify our Asterisk "extensions.conf" file so it interprets the subscriber dialed digits in one-by-one digit manner . At its current configuration , it interprets them in an whole packet . I mean , say the subscriber dials as "665 0000" so we need Asterisk to send it to the peer switch as 6,6,5,0,0,0,0 but not as one

Tripplite OmniPlus1000LCD Problem on VIA system
I have two computers running Ubuntu 8.04 with all updates. One with EHCI and OHCI host controllers recognizes my Tripplite OmniPlus1000LCD UPS, but the other (VIA chipset) with EHCI and UHCI does not. When I compiled the kernel with USB debugging enabled, I could see that the handoff from EHCI to the low speed UHCI controller was failing leading to endless looping as the EHCI was repeated

recently happend kernel panics regarding usb
Hi, I'm experiencing recently happend kernel panics while making bacula backups on my external USB harddisk. It first happened some days ago while I was running 6.4-PRERLEASE. I then updated to 6.4-STABLE and enabled all the kernel debugging stuff. I've uploaded "screenshots" (including backtrace) here: http://pics.pofo.de/gallery/v/misc/ I'm now not sure if the external

MeetMe Features
Hi all, I had a chance to use some call conferences that had some very neat functionalities: - When you call you are first asked for your name - When someone joins the conference a message "<name> is now joining the conference." is played. - When someone leaves the room a message "<name> has left to conference." is played. How can I set MeetMe/Asterisk to have

Asterisk timing
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, As I understand it, IAX2 trunking requires zaptel timing. Zaptel timing is provided by Zaptel cards, ztdummy or ztrtc. ztdummy requires usb-uhci and ztrtc can't run on smp systems. So if you only have smp systems with ohci and no zaptel cards (because it's a sip/iax2 gateway) then you're screwed? - -- Regards, Tais M. Hansen

AGI to announce temperature from weather.com XML file
I would like to have the ability to have Asterisk announce the temperature -- not using TTS -- within the dialplan. For a non-Asterisk project, I have a cron job that periodically pulls down an XML file from weather.com containing local weather data (TWC's user agreement requires that data be cached locally). Using sed, I also create a text file that contains only the numeric value of the

USB device descriptor read error with Eaton 5E UPS
Hi, I recently purchased a new Easton 5E UPS. I plugged the USB cable into my computer so I could use the NUT UPS tools. However every so often NUT fails to connect to the device after a boot. Looking at dmesg I see errors like this: [ 3.277075] usb 1-9: new low-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd [ 3.302091] usb 1-9: device descriptor read/8, error -32 [ 3.430241] usb 1-9: device
