When I'm in a call and i press Hold button, the other party starts listening Music on Hold but then when i press the button again to get the call back it doesn't work! I am using the native music on hold player in asterisk 1.2 and I too have a volume problem with music on hold. Is this controllable through the 'indications.conf'? Hi, what software do i need to convert an mp3 to a g729 format? I have a portal where a user can upload their own MP3, but when a user is using a g729 codec, the music on hold has a crackly sound. using g711 it's very clear. so what i'd like to do is when they upload an MP3 i will make a copy on g729 format, so that asterisk can choose which file to play depending on what codec is

I am using the m option on the dial command to play a message instead of ringing. The message is something like "please wait while I try to locate your party" so I need it to start at the beginning for each call. OK. So I did a test last night. All of asterisk's threads where using 0.0% CPU. I made 1 call to our call queue. CPU jumped to average of 9% and stayed around that for the 2 minutes I was in the queue just listening to music on hold. MOH is in MP3 format and I'm using format_mp3.
