SIP echo on LAN
Good Morning, I have a weird situation, I'm testing with Xlite as SIP phone (is it any good ) and dialing an extension (also Xlite on same LAN) and I'm getting a real bad echo on the dialer's side and a not so bad one on the receivers side. Has anyone had something like this ? Aparently one should only get echo when you break out onto a telco network ? -------------- next part

rpart 3.1.0 bug?
I just updated rpart to the latest version (3.1.0). There are a number of changes between this and previous versions, and some of the code I've been using with earlier versions (e.g. 3.0.2) no longer work. Here is a simple illustration of a problem I'm having with xpred.rpart. iris.test.rpart<-rpart(iris$Species~., data=iris[,1:4], parms=list(prior=c(0.5,0.25, 0.25))) + ) >

ztdummy on Gentoo 2.6.10 Box
Hi Everyone, I read through the list on the issues with the ztdummy driver which I need for MeetMe, but I seem to have come across a problem that I cannot seem to find an answer for. I am running Gentoo 2.6.10 on an Intel box. I have read the the wiki entries on the ztdummy and followed the instructions as they relate to the 2.6 kernel. Everything compiled great, but a modprobe ztdummy

Opinion on hardware (computer) for an Asterisk Server!
Hi list, I'm about to install Asterisk on an Old HP NetServer LC2000 Server (year 2001), it has 2 Pentium III 1GHz CPUs (Coppermine FSB 133MHz 256K L2 Cache), 768MB PC-133 ECC RAM, 3 UltraSCSI LVD2 18.2GB 10K RPM HDD in RAID5, 100Mb NIC for server. This Server will support 35 SIP phones (users) and 10 FXO ports (for telco lines) and 2 FXS ports (internal analog phones) with a Sangoma Remora

FWD and IAX2
Hi, I had a FWD account set up with asterisk (using SIP) and it was working fine both ways. I switched to IAX2 and now I can't get incoming calls from FWD. People who call my FWD number get a "480 - user is not online" message without any traffic reaching my box. I can call FWD numbers fine over IAX2. It seems fwd isn't trying to place the call over IAX2 because it thinks

long delay between "Ring Begin" and "SIP/XXX is ringing"
hi all, i have an asterisk install with a digium 4 port fxo card and cisco 7960 sip phones -- running on a compaq Pentium III (Coppermine) at 800Mhz 256KB cache and 1GB of ram. when a call comes in on zap/1-1 for example, the delay between when zap sees the line going to ring state, and when the desktop telephone rings can be as long as 7000 milliseconds (or about 3 or 4 rings on an ear piece).

Math symbols in email - not completely OT
What is the generally accepted way to put certain math symbols into plain text email? For example, how does one convey the "is exactly equal to", "is approximately equal to", and "delta" symbols in a standard text-based (e.g. Courier) font? Dr. Marc R. chan_iax2.c problem?
Hi, I was messing around with FireFly last night and got asterisk to crash hard. It looks like the bug is a division by zero in chan_iax2.c. I reproduced it and here are some infos I got from gdb: [Switching to Thread 245775 (LWP 23251)] 0x41154918 in calc_timestamp (p=0x816b710, ts=0, f=0x424eef24) at chan_iax2.c:2896 2896 int diff = ms % (f->samples / 8);

ESS 5.1.19 w/Xemacs 21.4.6
Probably wrong group for this, but a quick question. I've just switched from emacs to Xemacs. In reinstalling ESS 5.1.19 I keep getting the following error when loading Xemacs: "Error in init file: Symbol's function definition is void: w32-using-nt" I've debugged the ess-site.el file, which is where the error originates from. The line causing the difficulty is:

OT: ps -> eps -> MS Word
I've created a bunch of postscript trees (post.rpart), which I subsequently edit in Adobe Acrobat 4.05 (I need additional labelling that isn't easy to add with R). After editing the labels and annotations using Acrobat, I then export the file to Adobe's .eps format so I can insert the picture into a Microsoft Word 2000 document. The .pdf file distilled from the .ps file is

Xbox
> The Xbox is based on commodity PC hardware and runs a stripped-down version of the Windows 2000 kernel using APIs based largely on DirectX 8.1. however, it also incorporates changes optimized for gaming and multimedia uses... Is there any chance that wine can be made to run xbox games? There is alot of hardware optimisation so perhaps this is impossible, unless your running wine on an xbox,

Tortoise CVS download for Asterisk Docs
http://www.asteriskdocs.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=4 Can I make a suggestion that some documentation is provided for the Tortoise CVS download of the asterisk docs. I've tried every combination and I cant get it to work. I'm assuming it must work otherwise it wouldn't have been listed but for 60 seconds more work it would be a bigger benefit to the asterisk

Limit MOH processes
You could try to use the native mp3 support for MOH if you really want mp3 support. It is a lot better than using mpg123 IMHO. mpg123 kept doing nasty things to my system :) See http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20config%20musicon hold.conf there is a section about the native support.
