I'm confused a bit about the following and was hoping to get some answers on this group - What is exactly implied when we say asterisk can connect to a PSTN. Does it mean connecting to the PSTN via PRI/T1/E1? If yes, then I assume asterisk does not need to do any SS7 signaling and all it does (playing the role of a PBX) is to connect to a Class 5 Switch at the CO. Is this a correct statement?

Hi, Would just like to inquire if anyone here has a setup of asterisk to send traffic to AS5400 connected to an SS7-PRI.? this is more of a AS54 question, as i've been reading and i always stumble upon PGW2200 as a requirement to handle SS7 signaling on the AS54. Hello, Is SS7 and PRI in any way compatible in that if the interface is configured one it will work for the other (granted, it will not have any of the ISUP, etc. parameters available if the line is PRI) or are they two distince protocols that have incompatible signalling? Thanks, Elliot

How do you specify in a tablegen pattern that all destination registers are also source registers? I know I could just duplicate them, but I was wondering if there was a way it could be done without doing this. Basically an inplace operation. So for example, take a hypothetical swap w/ sqrt. if I had swap $ds0, $ds1 which swaps ds1 and ds0 and applies sqrt on the registers afterwards. Micah

Hi, I'm looking into support for SS7 and I found an article (http://www.openss7.com/news13022002.html) which says that OpenSS7 supports Linux Support Inc's T400P-SS7 Quad T1 and E400P-SS7 Quad E1 PCI interface cards. It also says that Linux Support Inc is the primary sponsor of Asterisk. However I cannot find these cards on the Asterisk hardware page

I'm making outbound calls by placing call files in the asterisk outgoing directory. At times, the call would be hung by SS7 without even attempting (due to error in the outgoing number).
