Sipura 3000 PSTN disconnect in the UK
Anyone else got a Sipura 3000 in the UK? Apart from CID not working it also
seems to not notice any of the line state changes on the PSTN when the
remote party terminates the call. It only recognises the offhook signal
which gets sent much later.

1.6.1 + TDM840 FSK MWI problem
Hi,
Using 1.4.26.1 & DAHDI 2.2.0.2, FSK VMWI devices off a TDM840 work fine.
With 1.6.1.[45] & same DAHDI, instead of the FSK spill I get a line
polarity reversal. Stutter dialtone is generated as expected.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there anything special I need to do for
1.6.1 to make FSK MWI work?
Thanks,

SPA-3000 generating one-ring calls
This is a wierd one. Can't figure it out. I have an SPA-3000 at the
house handling my incoming line. It's setup to direct the incoming call
to asterisk. Works great 99% of the time.
A few times a day, I'm getting calls that ring once internally and are
then hungup. I managed to get a detailed log [1] of what's happening
today and it looks to me that the SPA is acting wierd.

UPDATE - Analog Phones with FSK/Stutter MWI
After purchasing the Uniden TRU9480 and then the Panansonic 5672, both of
which do not have "phone company" compatible FSK/stutter MWI, I finally
got smart and found out just which Panasonic phones have this feature.
Only the following 5.8G models in their current line have FXO compatible
MWI. I purchased the 5771 unit and one remote. I have confimed it does in
fact work with Asterisk

Can asterisk give half-ring periodically for MWI?
Hi all,
Configuration: Analog phone connected to TDM400p.
I'd like the phone to give a half-ring (chirp) periodically when there
is a message waiting. Can this be done? How is it configured?
The visible "Message waiting" indicator and the stutter dial tone are
working fine, but are not sufficient for me.
Thanks!

passing through MWI info from SBC
Hi.. I am about to replace my aging Nortel Venture
system with an Asterisk system and 6 Polycom IP 501
phones, and a couple sipura 841's for less used areas.
We have 3 phone lines here. One is SBC, one Vonage,
and one Voipjet... One hangup is that I can't figure
out how to pass through a voicemail waiting indication
from SBC. This is important because my wife and her
family all

Annoying Sipura problem?
This may not be the right place to ask, but I have an annoying issue with
a Sipura/SPA1000-2.0.10(e) ATA device connected to an Asterisk box. (The
system is remote to me, so I've only been able to observe this by dialling
into a VoIP phone on-site, then run commands on the box remotely!)
First of all it's all working fine connected to an Asterisk box and the
user can make/take calls

MWI indicator HINT on Snom thru IAX?
I have many remote locations that dial into a central server to retrieve
voicemail via IAX. Outbound calls are handled as SIP calls from a Snom to a
local (to them) Asterisk server that dials the main server thru IAX. I have
trained them to check their voicemail via the emailed WAV file, however some
of them are, how shall I put it, idiots*, and insist that they *have* to
have the MWI indicator

SPA-941 stutter tone
I dont recall the SPA-941 playing a stutter tone in the previous firmware
but it is driving me nuts, anyone know where to turn it off?

SIP, Sipura SPA-2000, and Voicemail2
I figured out what was going on with the lack of/stuck on stuttered dial
tone. Apparently, there are two voicemail directories being referenced:
/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default, and
/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/local. The sip phones were using
/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/local to dump VM messages into, yet the MWI
looks at /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default.
Does anyone know why

Aastra MWI
I need to setup MWI on a few Aastra 9112's. I've tried doing so in the
web interface by setting "Explicit MWI Subscription" to true, but no
lights, no stutter tone.
Firmware: 1.4.0.1048
Thanks!

Stutter Tone
I think I have something misconfigured regarding voicemails. They work
great, I have this setup:
Sip.conf
[ext1]
Context=phones
Mailbox=201
Voicemail.conf
[home]
201,password,name,email@mail
Voicemail delivery and all works great but when I check sip extension ext1
(analog phone using a Granstream ATA 286), the stutter tone signaling
message waiting does not work.

Adtran TA750 MWI problem
I recently set up Asterisk with an Adtran TA750. All
is well except the phones do not show the MWI.
I have configured zapata.conf properly, as all phones
will receive a stutter dial tone if there is a message
waiting in it's assigned mailbox.
Does anybody know how I might fix this problem?
Thank you for your time

RTFriendsCache=yes help Voicemail MWI help
A while back I converted back to static conf files from a database setup.
However I decided to tackle it again.
The problem that I was experiencing, was, there was no stutter tone on my
sipura 2000 or 3000 when there was a voicemail left at either extension
when I was using mysql setup for peers and voicemail.
I have 2 contexts... home, office in my voicemail configuration

MWI on Cisco ATA-186 (SIP)
I am trying to set up the Message Waiting Indicator (stutter
tone/light) so that my cisco ata-186 will let my phones know there is a
message waiting. However this does not seem to be very well
documented.
I found this on wiki mailboxnumber@context ... where does that go? Do
I put it in my SIP.conf definition for my cisco ata, or where. In my
SIP cisco definition i already have a

Placing a MWI on-off call...
My grateful thanks to whoever can guide me in implementing this...
I have a need to place calls via Asterisk Manager Protocol to a legacy PBX
and twiddle its MWI lights.
By some means I get notified that an MWI light has to be changed.
Via AMP:
1. Send an ORIGINATE command honking up an incoming port on the PBX via a
TA804.
a. I presume that the TA804 should be a SIP channel. yes/no?

MWI question
Using a TE410P with Zhone 24FXS channel banks to power
standard analog phones I can't seem to find out if it's possible to
support FSK or voltage type message waiting lamps. I don't want to
use stutter dial tone because of the dramatic difference in per phone
cost.
TIA
