Satellite Providers
Hi All,
I am investigating the deployment of VoIP/* in Eastern European areas where
there is no PSTN infrastructure. As you can understand DSL/Cable connections
are a dream. The only option is satellite.
Does anyone know of any satellite providers that have low enough/acceptable
delays for VoIP?
Thanks,
Yiannis.

ASTCC: potential billing issue and "fix"
Before I start, I just want to say this is not necessarily a problem
with ASTCC, but may be a problem the way I have set up ASTCC (and
possibly the way others have set it up as well). The issue is that ASTCC
tries to match the pattern *anywhere* in the called number, not
necessarily only at the beginning.
I have set up ASTCC Routes like this:
1800 Tollfree Trunk1 0 0 100
1416 Canada Trunk2 0 0

Zultys 4x4 or 4x5
Hi All,
A friend has asked me to get a new Zultys 4x5 working with his *
server. I've been over the web gui but don't see where all the
registration info gets entered in the phone. Is there someone on-list
who has Zultys phones and can advise me as to their setup? The
manufacturers docs are useless.
Thanks,
Michael

Asterisk Realtime IAX - Adding fields
qualify= and mailbox= do not work with the realtime
configuration engine. It doesn't matter if you specify
them in the database, the thread that handles them
will never look at the peers you have defined in the
database, only the ones defined in iax.conf.

Thank you. Will this be a permanent situation, or be
resolved in future releases?

Zultys 4x4 or 4x5 ip phones?
Does anyone on-list use the Zultys 4x4 or 4x5 ip phones? I'd like to
hear some opinion before I buy a few. I'm especially interested in the
PSTN interface on the 4x5. Does it relay to * for VM when an incomming
call is not answered by the phone?
Thanks,
Michael

MySQL, CDR with MySQL
I'm preparing to roll out Asterisk for the voicemail portion of my VOIP
network. This week I downloaded a fresh version from CVS of Asterisk and
installed the following MySQL 4.1.7 RPMs directly from Mysql.org For some
reason after I enable MySQL for CDR and Voicemail in the cdr_mysql.conf and
voicemail.conf I don't get any MySQL functionality at all. It almost seems
as though MySQL

trying to get a few 7910 to work with *. I'm just not sure how to get them
to work. The 7910 just sits there "configuring IP" Here is a copy of my
skinny.conf. the extensions.conf is default. I just want to bring the
system up in default before a start making changes. Do I need to make

Experiences with Zultys 4x4 SIP phone?
Anyone had experience with this phone? The interesting features that
caught my eye were the RTP encryption, speaker "pager", and built in
4-port ethernet switch. Of course, RTP encryption doesn't exist in *
yet, but it might be interesting (I've had people ask about it, but I
don't know how serious they are about needing it.)

Zultys ZIP 4x5
Hi peoples
Can anyone tell me if the Zultys Zip 4x5 supports iax protocols or if they
have configured one before for iax.
If you have a sample config file that would be great. Any assistance would
be nice

Zultys Paging Solution / App for Multicast
Hi all,
I have found the solution for getting Zultys handsets to accept paging
messages.
We need an app to send RTP packets with a codec of G711U to send to port
3771 on multicast dest of 224.0.0.1. There isn't any need to use SDP or
SCCP packets to inform the phone to "listen" for those packets, they do
it by default. Finally we may be able to get a solution going for Zultys

Proper Syntax
I set up the pilot number to voicemail to be 777. When a user calls 777 the
voicemail answers and asks for mailbox, then password. Is there a way for
the Voicemail to read what extension they are calling from and just ask for
the password? I have a person complaining because they have to enter their
mailbox number every time they check their voicemail and the "old" pbx
didn't ask

Zultys phones with encryption
Hi All,
Does anyone on-list have experience with the Zultys 4x4 and 4x5 phones
with AES encryption? Does this work well with *? I imagine that it
would work as long as * doesn't have to decode the stream. What are the
implications for calls going to voicemail or MeetMe?
I'd pondering installing the 4x5, especially if Zultys can make the
on-board FXO port available to * as well as a

Linksys RT31P2
Has anyone tried out the Linksys RT31P2 with Asterisk? Seems like a really
great solution for remote users... even supports QoS. Too bad it doesn't
also have VPN functionality built in.
Here's a link to the product:

Zultys Zip 2 Registration / Disabling SIP Authorization
I'm trying to get a Zultys Zip 2 phone working with Asterisk. The phone
seems to be failing registration (see sip debug output below). However, I
can place calls TO the Zip2 from other SIP phones (Grandstream BT-101, Xten
X-Lite, and eStara Softphone) and from Nortel PBX extensions coming in to
Asterisk over a PRI T1. The problem is that I cannot dial any extensions
from the Zip 2. Any

Message light and paging on Zultys ZIP2, Uniden UIP200 time offset
I am trying to get a new Asterisk installation running using a Zultys
ZIP2 phone and a Uniden 200 phone. I have the system working reasonably
well (although probably not optimal) except for a couple of items.
First, I can't get the voice mail message light to work on the Zultys
phone but it works just fine on the Uniden phone.
Second, the time presented on the Uniden UIP200 phone is 1 hour

Zultys Phones w/ Encryption
I've got a Zultys WIP2 and Zultys 2x2 both of which support encryption. I
have patched my asterisk with srtp (srtp.sourceforce.net) as well as with
the patch found at http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=5413. I'm trying to
utilizing the encryption feature of the two Zultys phones to create an
encrypted call, but am having extreme difficulty. I keep getting the

Zultys 4x5 phone
Does anyone on-list have any advice about the version 2.2 firmware for
the Zultys 4x5 phone? It has a new "gateway" mode that is supposed to
direct calls on the analogue line to the PBX for VM, etc. Zultys has
not yet presented any docs, and the keep refering me to the reseller
who doesn't know anything about t at all.
Thanks,
Michael

Need Help RE Zultys Zip 2+ Basics
I have my first Zultys here but can't seem to get to first base. Does
anyone have a basic configuration file they might share? Mine is a Zip
2+.
If I understand the Zultys User Manual, the default passwd should be a
null string--but the web interface isn't accepting that (nor 'admin' nor
a couple others).
Anyone know what the default passwd actually is?
Thanks for any and all
