Manager "Message: Originate failed" beinggenerated when callee does not pick up
<<I am getting "Message: Originate failed" even the phone is ringing on the other end of the line.>>
Originate will ring your own extension first and when you pick up, call the other number. If you don't pick up your extension, you will receive the message you see.

Inheriting variables
I'm trying to set a channel variable and make it available to another
channel:
I thought that if I SetVar(_SomeVariable=SomeValue) or
SetVar(__SomeVariable=SomeValue) then SomeVariable would be available in
the destination channel.
However __SomeVariable, _SomeVariable and SomeVariable are all blank.
The scenario:

Are we interested, or ready for this? Andrew Seddon is offering to provide

RE: DSP stamp
Hi,
If somebody is interested in having a crack at this (and think's they have a reasonable chance of succeeding) then there is a dev kit up for grabs.
John, we actually already have a LM9638 (1280x1024, B/W) image sensor interfaced to the board. There is a colour version drop in replacement. We also have a color QVGA TFT hooked up for video out.
So a good demo system would be to capture

Yes, the Theora codec is based on VP3, which is an earlier version of ON2's
VP6 codec. Theora is currently at its alpha 3 release, and is stable enough
to have been used already for streaming live video from a number of
conferences, and for encoding several videos that can be found at
www.theora.org.
Development has progressed to the point that the value of the codec can be
seen. That

Newbie: Only allow authenticated users to call
I made the observation that I'm able to make a call with my SIP client (kphone) even when I'm not
registered/authenticated.
Of course, when I'm not registered at asterisk, people can't call me, but it's still a huge security hole,
that unregistered Clients can make calls.
Is there a way to tell asterisk to only allow registered clients making calls? I know about the

Asterisk Manager API - multi "Originate" cal ls
Hello,
You can do either, you can send multiple Originate actions in a long line
without waiting for a response back(although the responses do usually come
back very fast) or you can open multiple connections using each one to
Originate a new call. We use the multiple connection method in the
astGUIclient suite because if you get a pause or lag in Manager output on a
single connection(which does

Re: "virsh list --all" is intermittently causing a shutdown client to boot?
Autostart is set to "enable" for this domain, but I wouldn't expect autostart to be invoked when a simple "read-only" command is run. I'd expect the "list --all" command to only display details about the domain...not change the status of the domain by booting it. Maybe I'm misunderstanding things...

Edit to change startup from SMP to not so SMP
I have an issue on a server that stops to ask SMP or not so SMP on bootup.
Its a pain as its a remote unit, and if I update (or the power goes out for
3 hours) the server will not restart....
I remember back in the day editing a start up file to tell it what kernel to
start... Is that the file I am looking for to tell it to autostart smp???
Anyone have a 101 on how to do this?
Thanks,

gluster store and autostart - but fails
hi all
I've a few guest which work/run perfectly fine, I believe,
except for autostart.
Configuration of system, gluster and libvirt is pretty
regular and not complex.
Errors I see:

Re: [libvirt] Host OS, Storage Info
Martin, et al,
Sorry for the lag in response.
So I started playing with the various virsh commands. Awesome.
Been doing some reading and I believe I have some things configured not so
well.
As I stated earlier in the thread, we have all of the VM image files on one
RAID5. Very fast machine.
When using top, the load average is a stable "5.xx". No I/O wait. GB's of
free memory.

I need to store the CallerId of the PSTN caller with his language preference so that next time he is played the prompt in his language that he chose the first time. What would be better - storing his number in the Asterisk DB and using Dbput and DBget ? or storing it in MySQL from the dial plan and quering it everytime to see the callers

How can I make these command prompt settings into universal settings?
I've got it so that I can enable Japanese input into an application by
typing the following at a command prompt (with FireFox, for example):
[dave at localhost ~]$ kinput2 -canna &
[1] 10631
[dave at localhost ~]$ XMODIFIERS='@im=kinput2' LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.utf8 firefox
However, I would rather not have to type in all that craziness each time
I want to start an application. Further,
