Wall-mounting UIP 200 and SoundPoint IP600 keeps coming off hook
I am looking for a large number (probably about 100 or so) low-cost phones that I can hang on the wall. I need the phones to use PoE. Do the Uniden phones support wall-mounting? These phones are not going to be high-usage; they simply need to be there in case of an emergency. Another question, along the same kind of lines, has anyone figured out how to keep the SoundPoint IP 600 receiver

GXP-2000
I'm using a few GXP-2000 with firmware 1.0.2.13 and everything seems to be working fine. However, there are a couple of issues I'd like to know if are possible: 1) Even though the phone has 4 line appearances, if I am speaking on a line, the phone can no longer receive phone calls. I can manually select another line and make calls, but when Asterisk tries to send a call to it, I

Uniden UIP-200 Multiple line appearances
Hi - I'm wondering if any has experience with the Uniden UIP-200 phones. The product info says that the 8 led buttons at the top are all programmable. Can they be programmed as separate line appearances (ala Snom 200, Cisco 7960, Zultys Zip4x4, etc)? In other words - is the phone capable of multiple SIP registrations? Also, the post about these phones at voip-info.org mentions some

Wall-mounting UIP 200 and SoundPoint IP600 keepscoming off hook
The piece of plastic is built in to the IP600. Use a screwdriver or something similar and push the little piece of plastic out from the top inside the cradle. It will pop out, and you can turn it over and reinsert it upside down to hold the receiver in place. ________________________________ From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On

Polycom 501 power over ethernet
When I bought two Polycom 501 SIP phones, I naively thought they were Power-over-Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) because they were "powered over ethernet." Silly me. Polycom must have some odd voltage or funny way of injecting the power, because the POE switch I bought for them (Netgear F@510P) won't power them, though if I use the Polycom-supplied AC adapter and ethernet power

Handsfree Speakerphone
Hi, What is out there in terms of SIP enabled handsfree speakerphones? Looking for something that works well and also fits a low budget. I am used to using a Cisco 7940. It is a great phone but a bit expensive. Thought about the Polycom SoundPoint 300 until I realized that it does not include speakerphone functionality. Thanks, Adi

Opinions on Cisco 7960G, Polycom IP-600, and Snom 360
Hello, We are planning to replace our current PBX with an Asterisk / SIP solution, and are now trying to decide which phones to get. My first thought was the Cisco 7960G, but the Cisco licensing scheme irritates me enough that I'll probably end up going with either the Polycom IP-600 or Snom 360. If anyone has any opinions of these phones, especially in comparison to each other, I would

Sipura 841 delayed: other PoE options?
I -think- that the Sipura 841 was PoE... and I'd been anxious to find out. However, according to Atacomm.com, it's been delayed until mid-January. *sigh* So: does anyone know of a (decent) phone that meets the following criteria, and isn't too expensive? - SIP - two (or more) lines - some form of TCP/IP-based configuration - 802.3af (power-over-ethernet) - 100 Mbit passthrough (not

And the ringer seems low. - Even all the way up Anyone willing to point out a good asterisk

2 way intercom recommendation for restaurant kitchens
Greetings, I need a 2 way intercom for separate kitchens to communicate without having to walk back and forth. The speaker has to be loud but clear, not distorted. Sometimes the kitchens can be noisy. It needs to be easy to use. It needs to be easy to clean. It would be nice if it used POE. Eventually I would like the kitchens to be able to dial different parts of the restaurant when I

Which IP phones have best voice quality, preferably under $150
Hi all, I have to buy some IP phones. Previously I have used Grandstream GXP-2000, Budgetone 101 and Linksys SPA-841. I always had problems with sound quality with all of them, and I was always of the opinion that it were the phones which were not good. In GXP-2000 deployment of about 50 phones, some work good, some have sound problems like words missing, clicking sounds when talking, and some

Asterisk hardware for new office suggestion
Hi list, I am in the process of setting up Asterisk for a new office and since this is going to be my first "real" installation I'd appreciate some advice on the hardware from the real world. We will have 8 channels (still not sure if 4xISDN2 or ISDN30 8 channels, but I will definitely go for a Digium card with echo hw cancelation) and a DSL 2mbit line (QoS on the switch and

What business IP phone to use
I have been struggling with this issue for about a year now. There were just too many IP phones to choose from at all sorts of price points and not enough information about any of them. Now I am looking at the situation again and if anything it has gotten worse. There are even more phones and all sorts of opinions. For every person that says phone x is great there is someone else complaining

Server for 25-30 phones, sip trunks over the net
What cpu/memmory configurations have people had good luck with for a small office asterisk server... (polycom's/poe linksys) Dell's got their $200 SC440 going again until the 12th... and I'm thinking it might be just the ticket...
