Voice Modem + Soundcard Driver
The problem with using Voice Modems is that they fall into two categories: 1) Hardware Modems which only have half-duplex transmission of voice 2) Soft/Win/Lin modems which are proprietry and don't have asterisk drivers Please shoot down this recipe before I waste any time trying to acheive it: Rationalisation: ---------------- In Australia and I assume other places, there is no

slmodem and CentOS 4 (for reference)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Keywords: slmodem, linmodem, amr, slamr, winmodem Okey, just posting this for future reference, in case someone tries to search the list on this subject. To have slmodemd working on CentOS 4.1 (not sure about ver 4), all that is needed is to edit the file drivers/amrmo_init.c, replacing every instance of KERNEL_VERSION(2,6,10) to

Dial in modem speeds over VoIP?
Hi all, I like to have a dial in modem on my toll free number so that when I or my employees travel, they can always get in for net access to read email if no better method is available. Right now, my Panasonic KX-TD1232D PBX receives the call on a POTS line and routes it to an analog modem. The speeds achieved are around 24 kbps due to the digitization of the KX-TD1232D introducing

Using voice modem as poor man's FXO in Asterisk 1.8
Hi all, I've tried researching this, and so far, have struggled to find any contemporary information on the issue, so I do apologise if asking this irritates people who have answered this before. I have managed to set up Asterisk 1.8 on the web server here. I have two softphones (Ekiga) able to communicate with it. So far so good. I'm now curious to see if I can link it with the PSTN

Listener Stats getting wrong IP
Kurt, thank you very much again. Listeners hear with the label HTML5. I use only open source software and the system is very basic: Icecast audio server mounted on Debian GNU/Linux on a Pentium IV machine with dynamic IP. I understand how the IP information from listeners is lost when move from port 8000 to port 8500. I am also self-taught, but with my current knowledge I do not get to solve

Voice Modem Support?
I'm still playing with * at the moment. Just trying to figure out how much it can do. Anyway, it looks like * supports voice modems. So here come the obvious questions... How well does * support vmodems? How do I set * to use my vmodem for incoming calls? Has anyone gotten it to work? Thanx, Mike Diehl.

Listener Stats getting wrong IP
Kurt, I have retested the Icecast server on port 8000 and it works fine, but there remains the problem with the IP information from listeners. Last time I forgot to change data on the client Ices and for that reason did not work. Yes, here also the default port is 8000. I send you two screenshots. Voice linmodems and Asterisk PBX
Hello group, Just got this reply from Sasha @ Smart Link, a soft modem chipset company with a very nice attitude towards Linux. BTW, You can check the status of most modem chipsets and Linux support here: http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/dips/roster.html The good news is that the current 2.7.x series supports voice commands and is full duplex, but can only work with one modem. This issue will
