I was reading Octobers online edition of Wireless Asia and came across a
company called CDyne (www.cdyne.com <http://www.cdyne.com/> )
They build a number of web services applications but among other things
they have an application which you can fill out your details on a web
page will some time in the future call the number and run a text to

3rd party app store
I recently came across this email that I wrote in May 2008 ...... ?http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2008-May/210887.html
It's such a shame that Digium manhandled the project away from the community only to then bury it and not allow it to proceed. I really wonder when I look at the Apple iphone development community as to where the 3rd party Asterisk development community

Print out data frames into neat images
Hi Group,
I often need to print out data frames with results of analysis into a
neat little image to copy and paste into documents. I need apply
formatting like bold, currency signs, number formats, header shading
etc.
I currently output the data into csv and format using good old excel.
Any suggestions if there are packages to help with such activities (to
some level of basic functionality).

A neat "hot seating" mplementation
Has anyone implemented "hot seating" in any neat way? This where
people can log in to any phone in the company and have their
calls/voicemail come to that particular handset.....

def method_missing(name, value=nil)
key = name.to_s.sub(/[=?!]$/,'''').to_sym
self[key] = value if name.to_s[-1,1] == "="
self[key] = Mash.new unless self[key] || value
return self[key]
end

Its like OpenStruct...so what can you do?
require ''pp''
m = Mash.new

Neat conditional assignment
I would like to make a new vector with values taken from two existing
vectors conditional upon a third. At present I am doing this with a for loop
but wonder if there is not a neater way, given some of the very neat things
R can do.
a<-rep(c("A","B"),50)
b<-rep(1,100)
c<-rep(2,100)
a is thus "A" "B" "A" "B" "A"

Neat style trick
Not terribly exciting, but I was happy to think of it.
I needed a div with a fixed height that could vary depending on page
content.
So I did this:
<div class="listcntnr" style="height: <%= @users.size / 2 * 125%>px">
Whee!

RE: Question regarding Split Access description (Adam Neat)
IMHO, i believe that it would be more realistic to have one router providing
load balancing/dead gateway to one/several subnet(s). otherwise, each
server/user would have to do their own load balancing for each subnet!
that,
or you would need 3 routers, one for each subnet and a linux router doing the
load balancing in the middle.
with 3 routers, the load balancing configurations

Is there a neat R trick for this?
Hello all,
given two vectors X and Y I'd like to receive a vector Z which
contains, for each element of X, the index of the corresponding
element in Y (or NA if that element isn't in Y).
Example:
x <- c(4,5,6)
y <- c(10,1,5,12,4,13,14)
z <- findIndexIn(x, y)
z
[1] 5 3 NA
1st element of z is 5, because the 1st element of x is at the 5th position in y
2nd element of z is 3,

FW: TellMe pay-as-you-go? - UPDATE
As some of you know I've been trying to facilitate an involvement with
www.tellme.com <http://www.tellme.com/> speech recognition tools and
Asterisk. See www.studio.tellme.com <http://www.studio.tellme.com/>
There have been a number of people who are already integrating the two
and utilizing Tellme as an ASP to deliver speech recognition to their
asterisk applications.

Alec Saunders post about Mashable Telco's
Interesting read in Alec Saunders blog today.
http://saunderslog.com/2007/03/01/mashable-telcos/
Thought it may interest some people on this list.
As food for thought, why it is that ITSP's haven't come up with more
'interesting' voice applications? When asterisk first became available I
thought it was the beginning of seeing really neat applications, think

Orative
Has anyone heard anything about these guys? Anyone seen anything like
this?
http://www.orative.com/solutions.php
It's seems very cool, basically uses GPRS as a digital overlay on your
mobile phone for additional functionality such as presence and IM though
I'm sure they have some other functionality (voicemail access, call
announce etc) coming down the pipeline.
Any thoughts,

Neat way of using R for pivoting?
Hi,
I'd like to use R to do what excel pivot tables do, and plot results.
I've never used R before, and I've managed to do something, but it's quite a
lot of code to do something simple. I can't help but think I'm not "Doing it
the R way".
I could be using R for the wrong thing, in which case, please tell me off.
I was hoping something like plot(by(t,

don't have a public facing web page but you are looking for people to
click on but a personalized list of numbers. In order for someone to
access this directory you are going to be asking for a username/password
correct? If so just tie the username to a selection of 'my location'
checkboxes that I tick and then the app remembers this location next
