Panasonic x Asterisk if I can emulate Panasonic fast!
Im a 3-days-asterisk-newbie. In 3 weeks, I must have a PBX installed in a new office of ours: Panasonic or Asterisk. Asterisk would be, if I can emulate some Panasonic functions on Asterisk fast, to convince the executives. What I have done until now: Bought 1 Linksys pap2 (2 FXS), 1 Linksys SPA3102 (1 FXS + 1 FXO) for making asterisk tests. Configured Asterisk/Fedora 9 so I can make SIP->PSTN

Voicemail Password Issue
Asterisk Users, I am running Asterisk-1.4.11 with Zaptel-1.4.4 on Debian Etch System 2.9.18-4-amd64. A TDM03B is installed on the Debian System. Every time, I try to change my voicemail pin via the Sip phone, the voicemail.conf does not get modify and I see this warning message on the Asterisk command line: [Aug 29 00:12:23] WARNING[19142]: app_voicemail.c:799 vm_change_password:

Call dropping out after 5s: Solution!
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello I'm the one who posted a message about the fact that nobody answer anymore to questions asked. I posted two days ago a problem I was facing that calls made over the Internet to my Asterisk gateway would hang-up after just 5s (no NAT were involved) Answer I got was: it's your config Well, it wasn't (as I was expecting). Distinctive ring confusion
I am somewhat unsure as to the definition of "Distinctive Ring". What I am trying to achieve is to have Zap connected phones (TDM400P) ring with different cadences depending on whether the call is incoming on the PSTN context or an IAX2 context. Googling, I find this from Mark: I've added distinctive ring support to Asterisk now (also I've added answer confirmation which is

CentOS on Compaq Proliant Rackmount Servers
Greetings, Can anyone relate experience(s) installing CentOS on Compaq rack mount servers units please? Easy no problem, easy some issues, or ghastly do not do it under any circumstances... ;) Basically, I'm looking at some used/refurb dual PIII units and will run RAID on Compaq built in SCSI or is it easy to pop in some 3ware SATA in them? Let me know in terms of CentOS 3 and/or 4 please.

Dell PE600SC with ServerWorks CSB6
Hello! Has anyone gotten 4.9R to recognize the "ServerWorks CSB6" ATA controller on a Dell 600SC? How about installing 5.2R on a 600SC? 5.2R recognizes the said controller, but it corrupts data. -- eof

What do you think about this motherboard?
Hello all..... I would like to know if anyone here has had good experience with this Supermicro motherboard.....http://supermicro.com/products/motherboard/P4/E7221/P8SCT.cfm I am thinking about using it in an entry level mail and file server with a 3ware card and 200 GB SATA drives. Cost is a factor here otherwise I would go for an Opteron board instead. JC

HELP: ServerWorks data corruption after 350 MB with BerkeleyDB 4.0?
Hi, I received a bug report against BerkeleyDB 4 that may not be BerkeleyDB related, but a problem with FreeBSD or specific hardware in general. Jie Song (CC'd) reported that writing files with BerkeleyDB (no threading or something) on his ServerWorks machine causes data corruption (detected by BerkeleyDB 4.0 library functions) when the file sizes grow beyond 350 MB. For details, see PR

Smart-UPS RT 3000 Baud Rate
I have been running a Smart-UPS RT 3000 VA using nut successfully over the 940-0095B cable for a couple of years. I have just received a second unit, but it is slightly different in 3 ways that I have found so far. 1. It's a Smart-UPS RT 3000 XL 2. The 940-0095B cable now uses an RJ45 connector at the UPS end. 3. It now requires a baud rate of 9600 instead of the 2400 used previously.

load balancing: per route or per interface?
Hi! I''m doing load balancing for 5 dsl lines, each one with a dsl router attached to a linux machine ethernet plug. The problem is that I''m adding 15 more dsl lines, and I don''t have enough PCI slots in the linux machine to sum up 20 ethernet plugs (I already have 2 quad ethernet cards). So I''m considering connecting all dsl routers and the linux machine to a

Kernel panic with load balancing
Hi! I''ve 5 DSL routers and a linux router in a switch. The linux router is doing NAT for a LAN network, but it freezes when I set up load balancing with this command: ip route add default proto static\ nexthop via 192.168.1.10 dev eth1\ nexthop via 192.168.1.20 dev eth1\ nexthop via 192.168.1.30 dev eth1\ nexthop via 192.168.1.40 dev eth1\ nexthop

Problems exporting a PCI device to a domU...
Hi! I am trying to export a PCI device (an AVM Fritzcard PCI ISDN card...) to a domU but when starting my domU I am getting this error: "pciback pci-4-0: 22 Couldn''t locate PCI device (0000:00:06.0)! perhaps already in-use?" My system is running both debian etch in dom0 and domU... Below you can find (hopefully) all important information... Sincerely, Gaubatz Patrick

BRI newbie queries.
Knowing very little about Basic Rate ISDN and having spent the last couple of hours educating myself, I thought I would seek some more informed comment. Please go easy if this is blindingly obvious :) I have a ZyXEL Prestige 100 ISDN Router, a stand alone relic from when we used to access the Net via ISDN. It has an ISDN BRI input, a 10BaseT ethernet connector, an RS232 connector for

fxo connection in the UK
Thank you very much for this hint. My apologies that I messed up a thread for my post - I had a message open and simply clicked on the link ... slap slap. Would anyone know of a better choice to multiplex three fxo lines into an asterisk box? I can still use three Digium X100P cards, but methinks, a seperate unit would be better. Thanks again, Peter >> I am located in the UK and

Running Debian as DomU
Hello, I just gain experiences in using XEN and hope you can help me. My hostsystem is Centos5 that I installed on a Software-Raid (Level 1). Afterwards I downloaded the debian-tarball from the jailtime.org website, extracted/mounted the image and copied the "*/lib/modules/*<kernelversion>"-folder from my host to the guest. My XEN-Configfile looks like this: kernel =

Why Aastra uses 48V whereas other IP Phones use much less, i.e. 5-12V
Hi, Why Aastra phones use more electricity, i.e. 48VDC whereas other phones use much less, e.g. Grandstream and Linksys both use only 5VDC. I first thought it was because of PoE, but the ones with 5VDC also run fine on PoE. What is the difference in power consumption then? -- Zeeshan A Zakaria -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
