IAXy's apparantly failing in the field
I am not sure if this is the place for Digium user-to-user discussion, but... We have deployed many (20+) IAXy's in the field. At a couple of locations, the IAXy's have just stopped working after 1 or 2 days use. No lights go on, no DHCP lease is renewed as far as we can tell, and of course no dialtone and no registration with the server. Has anyone else experienced high failure rate

Sipura 3000 DMTF
I have three Sipura 3000 FXO untis for incoming PSTN lines on a small pbx. There is an IVR to select the extension. The DTMF tones are not being sensed so the IVR does not work and incoming calls are not being answered. I have listed my sip.conf entries. Is there any solution to this? ;Sipura units [101] type=friend host=dynamic context=default secret=mysecret mailbox=101 dtmfmode=inband

Sipura SPA-3000 and PSTN dtmf
Greetings, What is the recommended settings for using SPA-3000's FXO port for dialing out to PSTN in regard of the DTMF? The voip lan contains SPA-2100 and SPA-3000, with all fxs/fxo ports registered to the Asterisk box with unique username/passwords. The inbound PSTN DTMF works excellently, e.g. people calling from PSTN into the * box are able to pick IVR items with DTMF reliably. The

Sipura Behind NAT howto
I am trying to get a SPA-3000 to work behind NAT - for the sake of the exercice. The SPA is on the local network at the address 192.168.0.125 behind a NATted linux router. The machine I am trying to work with is a friend's (let's call it lolo.dyndns.org) and I've installed Asterisk 1.0.3 on it. I can see the SPA register but when I try to make an outbound call I get the message:

Problems using SIPURA and MFC/R2
We are using MFC/R2 driver successfully in at least three places in Brazil. I have problem with an Asterisk integrated with MFC/R2 with a Siemens Hicom 300. I can get a good audio quality with Grandstream, Polycom, and X-Lite softfones, but SIPURAS and Linksys get a garbled audio, something like a "Darth Vader" voice. We have tried everything in Sipura. The SIPURA 2000 and the Linksys

SIP dtmf=rfc2833 not working
We are testing some DTMF-driven applications over VOIP (legacy systems which use fast pulses of standard DTMF tones). The applications work fine when Digium IAXy's are used - no loss or garbling of DTMF tones. However, when we use SIP modems (such as Sipura 1000's), the DTMF tones are frequently uninterpretable and our applications have to ask for retries. I am under the impression that

How to use Sipura SPA3k POTS line to dial Asterisk SIP phones?
My SIP phones can dial out through Sipura SPA3k to POTS for local and 911 calls _but_ incoming POTS calls are being swallowup somehow. Am I on the right track with the code snippit below? sip.conf: --------- In sip.conf the following code is _supposed_ to ring the SIP phones when a POTS line call comes in through Sipuara to Asterisk. sipura over heat
I'm experiencing a very unusual problem with a few of my sipuras. They keep over heating after minimal usage. I unplug them and let them sit for 15 minutes and it starts working fine. The other way around is that I put a fan on it or something to keep it cooling. Has anyone else experienced this or are they just defective units? Regards, Mohammed Salim EZZI Telecom, Inc.

sipura registration problem
Hi everyone, I'm having an odd problem with one of my sipura boxes. The box registers the first time with asterisk properly after being plugged in. After which, some of the subsequent registration tries fail and the box becomes unregistered. However, after a few hours, it finally successfully re-registers and the cycle continues. I have not been able to figure out the problem but

Service Unavailble, Sipura 3000, CheckGroup, what the heck??
Folks! I discovered some serious problem with several Sipuras 3000 but I don't know if the problem is with them or Asterisk. Basically, if I call a Sipura PSTN line, when there is a call already in progress, generally I get a 503 Sevice Unavailable, but if I try hard enough, I am able to get through and connect to dialed number. The other call gets disconnected but the originator of the

Sending DTMF to PSTN problem with SIP
Dear All ~ I have * setup & running ok (with two Wildcard X100P's to PSTN). I also have two analog phones connected into same through a SIPURA 2000. These work fine, except that when I call out through PSTN & try to send DTMF tones to (say) a remote PBX to dial an extension, the gain seems to go wild (high), and the DTMF tones are not recognized at the other end. I tried setting the

Sipura config
This question isn't entirely Asterisk related, but I'm hoping that someone here may have the knowledge to respond to me anyway. I'm using Asterisk with several Sipura SPA-2000 SIP devices as FXS adapters. I would like to have my SPA's automatically provisioned through http or tftp, but I can't find any information on how to do so. Sipura's tech-support has not been very

Re: Sipura and STUN (was: rejected NOTIFY re quests)
Sipura does include STUN as an option. It has for quite some time. We are using it with all of our Sipuras behind NAT'd gateways and it works great! Try upgrading to the latest Sipura firmware rev. Serious NAT problems: can't call between lines on sipura
I have a problem that is almost certainly nat-related, but I can't figure out what's happening. Since moving the Sipura behind a NAT server (Linksys), I am no longer able to call between the two lines on the same Sipura. When I dial one extension from the other, it rings, but immediately after I pick up the ringing phone, the call is uncerimoniously dumped. I can tell the call

Hello all, When I generate an out-going call from *, the DTMF detection is not working ? ASTERISK --> GW AS5300 --> PSTN But the DTMF is working correctly when it's an incoming call. PSTN - -> GW AS5300 - -> ASTERISK Well, I tried with the 3 dtmfmode of asterisk inband, rfc2833 and info, no way !!! Is it normal that asterisk try to setup the outgoing-call using ULAW ? if I

Strategy for a stable IAXy
I've heard comments about the instability of the IAXy (loosing IP, locking up, etc) . I want to deploy some, in a remote site. The comments on the instability suggest that the simplest approach is to power-cycle them when you have problems. The IAXy would only be in use from 3PM to 8 PM. My potential simple solution is to have a timed power brick (like what you would use for a block heater)

WIP-5000 and DTMF
My WIP-5000 phone is working well with my Asterisk box now, except for DTMF. All DTMF key presses come across as clipped or just clicks on the remote side. I had this problem with my Sipura ATA as well, but fixed that by playing with the settings on the Sipura device. I've tried dtmfmode=inband and also rfc2833, but neither seem to work. I don't see any place in the settings on the
