Re: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 5, Issue 219
I don't think it's the snom, (the break key is set to "off")
the "#" key is not being interpereted by the PBX as an attempt to
initiate a transfer.
Is this an error in my extensions.conf?

Rails in Dr. Dobbs Journal ?
Hi,
I''ve read that Dr. Dobbs Journal''s last issue has a cover article about
Rails titled "Ruby On Rails - Java''s Successor?". Can''t find anything
about it in http://www.ddj.com
Does someone have the paper edition and can confirm that, and tell
how the article looks like, and so on.
Thanks,

Help with music over intercom.
I am using Console/DSP for an intercom. I want to play my MP3
collection over it when no one is using it, like when they do in the
supermarket.
Can anyone help me with this.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Ethernet Channel Bank idea
Anyone ever thought about an Ethernet based channel bank? Basically a
rack mount set of 24 IAXys? That would be cool, IMO. No wrangling with
zaptel, etc. IAX as the * <-> Channel bank protocol.
Just an idea...

IAXTEL is dead/dying?
I didn't get any response at all to my last "request for status" on
IAXTEL.
So, when this happens, I attribute it to one of a number of things:
1. No-one knows.
2. No-one cares.
3. Everyone knows, but are too busy to reply.
At any rate, my investigative side kicks in and I began searching thru
the digest's I've gotten, looking for references to IAXTEL. Mostly it is

Call on hold disconnects...
G'Day All,
How do I fix this:
I receive a call at the extension. Press the hold button. Music on hold
starts. When I place the handset back on the cradle, the call gets hung
up/disconnected. The Phone is A GrandStream Budge Tone 100.
Thanks

[LLVMdev] Benchmarks
Dear List,
There's been some recent discussion on the list about benchmarks. I just
read a Dr. Dobbs article on the relative runtime performance of various
compilers (8 of them compared) on Intel platforms. The test focused on
mainly template type things but offers Dhrystone and zlib for
comparisons.
There's no clear winner as all compilers perform well in some areas and
poorly in

ed felton broadcast
Dr. Dobbs will be broadcasting a Usenix security conference soon that
will feature Ed Felton talking about the DMCA. They wish to use
Icecast2 and Ogg Vorbis to do the live broadcast, but are wondering if
there is any temporary available bandwidth on which to host the stream,
since it's likely to be mildly popular.
Please contact me offlist if you have bandwidth to spare (at least a few

manpage/groff failure, build world failure (noc 'ascii' device)
Dear Sirs.
After Upgrading and installing FreeBSD 5.1-R-p2 from FreeBSD 4.8 (completely
fresh installation!) I can not do any manpages and can not do a make world
anymore.
Man pages would work when setting up an exported environment variable
export GROFF_FONT_PATH=/usr/share/groff_font
export GROFF_TMAC_PATH=/usr/share/tmac
and appropriate in csh.
I searched the mailing list and found a lot

ISDN BRI (I.430) over ethernet
Does anyone know of a hardware adapter that can take ISDN BRI frames
(I.430) and encapsulate them in Ethernet (any form, but TDMoE would be
really cool), in much the same way that the redfone does for PRI?
(yes I have asked this before in looser terms, but it was a while ago :)
Would anyone find such a device useful?
Thanks

Frustrating problem with natsemi (DP83815) ethernet devices
[Sorry if this is off-topic for this list, please advise me if there''s a
better place to ask this]
I have an embeded motherboard with 4 natsemi (DP8315) ethernet chips.
I''m running a 2.6.9 kernel (I''ve tried 2.6.11 too) and a very minimal
Slackware distribution.
Now about the problem:
The network interfaces seem to NOT transmit anything when the interface
