Hey there,
I don't know who else has suffered broadvoices terrible service, but I
am about to my end with them. The lack of a LBR codec, the outages,
the changing of servers without notifying subscribers haspushed me to
my end. Now most incoming calls are abbruptly cut off within a minute
of the call starting.
Anyone know of any other * friendly providers that have DID, besides

IAX DIDs, Illinois
I have been looking at moving from SIP-based DID (Illinois) providers to
one that uses the IAX protocol for DIDs. After a search, I've come up
with the following:
http://connect.voicepulse.com -- $8/month, many rate-centers
http://www.iax.cc -- $1.50/month + 0.014/min, many rate-centers
Can that be all that there is? I like the pricing plan at iax.cc,
because it would allow me to set up

IAX2 DTMF not recognized - Bug report - Help sought
I have working SIP numbers with broadvoice, and just added a DID from
http://connect.voicepulse.com/ . The calls answer, but DTMF is not
recognized.
With "iax2 debug" active pressing DTMF does nothing. Zilch. Zero.
A friend tried a different IAX2 connection, and got the same results.
I see the following in the archives:

CallerID - Broadvoice vs. VoicePulse
Until recently, I was using Broadvoice for my in/out calling thru
Asterisk. I was extremely pleased to see that Broadvoice was actually
passing the callerid info (number and text) that I had set up on each
device in my SIP.CONF file. I had PSTN users tell me that they were
actually seeing name and extension info when I called them from the
Asterisk box.

Problems with voicepulse.com
Greetings,
I have been experimenting with Asterisk for a few weeks and finally
decided to
take the plunge and purchase a few DIDs for inbound calling. Our
attempts at
IAX/IAX2 connectivity with VoicePulse have been less than successful.
We get
"Registration Refused" errors from Asterisk whenever we launch the
server. The
front-line support folks at VoicePulse suggested that we are

Suggestions for reliable DID provider forCanada, USA and Europe
I've had some serious issues with Teliax as of late with their "new"
Denver server. DTMF issues, IAX2 connection issues, and major latency
issues. They are blaming it on "1.2 vs 1.4 asterisk compatibility
issues". I have had zero problems with their old servers.
Voicepulse has been WAY better, but no flat charges, no 729.
Frankly, even my broadvoice (yikes!)

Conecting to asterisk server through NAT using IAX
Hello,
I have asterisk setup with Broadvoice.
It works great as PBX and Outgoing calling server for all local clients
withing 192.168.1.0 network. My asterisk is running over NAT.
I use linksys router.
Now, I am trying to connect from outside to my asterisk server.
I use Diax as iax client.
For some reason I cannot connect to my server from outside.
On my router I forward those ports to my

How do I get DIDs for remote areas in Canada
I want the ability to setup DIDs in a variety of different remote locations
in Canada. There are various providers that have DIDs in major cities, but
none that focus on the "smaller" cities.
The question is how do I actually setup these DIDs?
Thanks,

DTMF digit dropping
I run an automated information retrieval system, using Asterisk. Fairly
often the system misses a dialed digit. Our codes are all 4 digits, see
lots of logs with:
4199 - OK
530 - Invalid code
330 - Invalid code
5330 - OK
As callers experience skipped codes. We're using Broadvoice SIP with
inband DTMF (and we've tried every possible setting or option

VoicePulse Issues
I recently switched from BroadVoice to VoicePulse Connect on my Asterisk
box. Too many Meetme quality complaints (whether real or perceived).
I had to make a choice to use IAX2 or SIP with VoicePulse. I first
tried to go with SIP because I already had it working and all of our
devices are SIP. Problem is that every time I turn my back, the
Asterisk registration with the VoicePulse SIP server

looking for responsible iax provider, aftermath
Greetings,
I'd like to thank everyone that has responded to my original email. I
have received information from several companies, and will be testing
several of them.
I also would like to update a statement from my original message to
clarify it:

Re: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #2120 - 14 msgs
In response to the postings by Andrew Kohlsmith and Ernest W. Lessenger:
Andrew,
I modified the exten line in extensions.conf as you suggested.
Unfortunately,
It still does not work...
Ernest,
I spent approx. 4 hours reading list archives (and anything else Google
served up) on
how to configure iax.conf and extensions.conf to work with Voicepulse.
Then, I sent

Multiple X100Ps -- order?
After over a month (well, ok, no more than an hour a day :) of planning,
getting hardware, tinkering and testing, I'm about to my Ultimate Home
Phone System (tm) online.
Connectivity to the outside world is provided by:
A. 1 POTS phone line connected through an X100P ($11/month, needed to
carry DSL)
B. 1 Vonage ATA186 connected through an X100P (needed for the rate
center :( )
C. 3 Broadvoice

VoicePulse Connect
Asterisk Users,
Has anybody use Voicepulse Connect for Asterisk?
I am trying to cover all my bases because in the past, I got burned with
poor quality of service, along with failed DTMF tones with 3 different SIP
Providers (Vitelity, Broadvoice, and Teliax).
I am running Asterisk 1.2.13 on the Debian Etch system, using the SIP
protocol. Any insights would be great. Thanks.

sending traffic to LiveVoip
I have several DIDs (working well) with LiveVoip and I just signed up for
some outbound minutes. Unfortunately they did not send connection
instructions.
I tried:
exten =>
_1NXXNXXXXXX,2,Dial(IAX2/userid:password@217.160.244.186/${EXTEN}|60|s)
but I get the error

RE: Asterisk at home with Broadvoice?
Outward dialing is a no brainer. VoipJet is the best outbound call
provider I have come across. Period.
It always works for me and the call quality is always very very good.
So far that seems to be the norm for them.
I am still working on getting my inward DIDs solidified so no opinion
there...

Planning Asterisk
Hello,
I'm planning to convert my phone system to Asterisk, as I've outgrown my
TalkSwitch system. I have a few questions for experienced * users, most
of which can be answered yes/no.
Current Setup:
- Talkswitch 48NLS (4CO/8Ext) phone system.
- One CO line, two Vonage lines, one Voicepulse line connected to phone
system
- A third Vonage line directly connected to a fax machine

Hardware vs. Network Inputs
We are trying to determine how to build out an IVR system we are
working on. The system needs to be able to handle probably at most
5-10 concurrent calls at peak times. Other times we are just looking
for a reliable service. For incoming calls we've been using
BroadVoice VOIP and before that VoicePulse VOIP. VoicePulse's IAX
service started dropping DTMF inputs that we were processing

FW: NuFone Update: DIDs (Correction)
Well I know from personal experience that NuFone is working on a
solution for its customers as fast as it can. I know they found an
alternate termination provider and are working to have a solution for
the TF and Local DID's he currently has on his platform.

Toll Free DIDs
I have several toll free numbers that get forwarded to a single local
number assigned to a trunkgroup. I've asked the telco to not forward
those toll free numbers but to assign them as DIDs to the trunkgroup, so
that I can differentiate via DNID.
They said that they can't do that. That toll free numbers must forward.
I know that I could have them each forward to different local DIDs
