safe_asterisk used to work fine but with v1.0.3 I am getting all kinds of permission errors, intermittant failures, etc. Even with file permissions relaxed and ownership set to asterisk it craps out. I just had the same exact problem this morning. The only thing I've done in the last couple of days is update update zaptel. I rolled back my zaptel to 2/11/04 from 3/8/04.
