Youch! Painfully loud beep...
I just called 6610 from Zap/1
exten => 6610,1,Dial,Zap/1&Zap/2
(Don't try this with the handset pressed up against your ear) ...is this the
call waiting indicator? Is it a file, can it be turned down - and does it
get used anywhere else?
These are both fxs ports. In zapata.conf changinging to callwaiting=no stops
this. The text implies that this affects fxo ports.

4 line phone w cid recommendation?
Hi,
I'm looking for 4 line phones that will see some heavy usage (they need to
be tough) for office secretary/receptionists. Any recommendations?
One additional consideration (not particularly for my current needs) is
regarding the page/intercom feature that can be mapped to one of the analog
ports - does anyone know of a 4 line phone that will do this?
Thanks,
John

Digital phones
Hello.
Second question. Should I be asking this on the dev list (that's not the
question by the way).
Q. - there are several mentions on the list that asterisk :-
"can interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment"
"interconnection with digital and analog telephony equipment"
"visual message waiting indicator"
etc. etc,
That seems

was FXO cards
Hey guys,
appreciate the input. Here are some thoughts.
ADSI phones are out of the question. This is a business environment, I
can't worry about my employees not knowing how to forward calls, answer
calls when away from the multiline phone, and no ADSI phone will handle
multiple lines that I have found.
I would love to put 6 X100P cards in a case and run asterisk on it.

FAX over IAX
Hi,
We are looking at consolidating our lines with PRI. This will allow the
elimination of many fax lines. Some of them will be replaced with this type
of config ...
PRI * IAX * Channel-Bank FAX
We will have daggressor suppressor enabled. Is anyone doing this and should
I expect smooth operation?

Maria 10 breaks unixodbc mysql connector
I recently installed mariadb-server 10.1 by adding the following repository:
baseurl = http://yum.mariadb.org/10.1/centos7-amd64
...all was well until we had a power failure and upon rebooting unixodbc
was segfaulting. Once I did a yum undo, the mysql odbc driver was
functional.
I traced it to the following:
[root at ec-ast yum.repos.d]# ldd /usr/lib64/libmyodbc5w.so | grep -iE

Maria 10 breaks unixodbc mysql connector
Thanks for each of your inputs.
It was not a configuration issue as odbcinst.ini does not reference the
mysql subdirectory.
Rather than use Alexander's url, I ran:
yum -y install centos-release-openstack-ocata
yum -y install mariadb-server
...the cloud repository provides the properly pathed file.
# repoquery -l mariadb-server mariadb-libs | grep lib64 | grep
libmysqlclient

AT&T T1 Cable Needed!
Hi,
I just got a T1 interface for a AT&T (became Lucent) System75 (uses same
cards as Definity). I would take a crack at making a cable but can't
determine the pinout for a cable and it is not apparent from the board.
Asking you guys makes sense as one of you may have one of these systems. The
cable has a amphenol male D50 connector on one end and probably a rj45 on
the other. I also

Maria 10 breaks unixodbc mysql connector
I think the solution may exist.
The compatibility of mysql-connector-odbc with maria may just means the
driver can access the mariadb - but my experience suggests not live on the
same host.
maria has its own connector:
https://downloads.mariadb.org/connector-odbc/
it does not look like this is in the sig, so I'll have to turn to the maria
repo.
I'll try replacing the driver first, then

Programming an unlocked ADSI phone?
What kind of channelbank/FXS port are you connecting to?
I've seen problems connecting to some of the older versions of the
Adtran Total Access 750's. I wouldn't doubt there would be problems on
other channelbanks with older firmwares. Of course, no firmware on CAC
AB1's
I have the AAstra 480, Adtran 750 Channelbank (updated firmware), T100P
card, and it worked fine on the

telantek.adsi
I am working with the telantek.adsi file, and I was
wondering how I would create a softkey for Transfer.
I tried making a key definition and using SENDDTMF
"#", but that didn't work. Is there another way I
could do this?
Also, does anybody have any ADSI scripts for use with
Asterisk that they would like to share?
Thank you for your time.

ADSI Programs
I just received an unlocked ADSI phone and I am
playing with the ADSI script.
I was wondering how I can include Voicemail functions
(Check new messages, Delete message) into the soft
buttons.
I checked in app_voicemail.c and it looks like these
functions have already been programmed.
Is there a voicemail.adsi script somewhere? If not,
then how do I get the functions I want onto my phone?
Thank

Which ADSI phones to buy?
I just need to buy 5-6 ADSI Phones.
I wondering which of these models to choose
- aastra 390 - I don't know is this an ADSI phone at all. Is there versions with and without ADSI
- aastra 350 - I'm sure that it have ADSI.
If there is some other good working model, it will be great, if someone points me.
Thanks

Setting time on ADSI phones from Asterisk
Hi,
Would anyone know of a way to set the time automatically on an ADSI
capable phone from *?
The phone in question is a Aastra 480e.
While I am at it, does anyone have any helpful docs on the ADSI script
programming? I have managed to do basic functions by modifying the
asterisk.adsi file using stuff gleaned from the app_adsiprog.c file,
but docs would be really helpful at this point.

ADSI -- is it dead? Worth bothering with?
Since Colin Anderson -- in a previous thread -- asked the question about
whether ADSI was dead, I thought it was worth discussing.
We've been using Nortel Vista 350s in our office up until now. The
phones are from Telus, I don't know if there's any way to unlock them.
It would appear Telus hasn't done much in the way of updating software
for these phones; or if they have, they

Aastra 480e phone ADSI config
There isn't much documentation on adsi, but I called NETXUSA (the vendor
of my 480e) and they helped me along.
My experience:
1. I really had no experience with ADSI so I had (probably still have)
some misconceptions on how the configuration is loaded onto the phone.
2. I set the following in my /etc/asterisk/asterisk.adsi (most of this
is the stock asterisk.adsi script):

ADSI Programming
Hello Everyone,
About a month ago, someone put a question to the list about which ADSI
spec to purchase from Telcordia. I looked in the archives, and it
appears that this question was never answered, so I'll put it to the
list in a slightly different manner: Do I need to purchase the
Telcordia specs in order to learn how to write my own ADSI scripts? If
so, which one?
I found the Black
