This may sound kind of crazy and I maybe missing something. But are you placing the call on hold so you can hear the hold music. This may not be the case but you may have to place the call on hold to here the music. Also you mentioned sound, you do not need a sound card in the asterisk box to use this hold music feature. We've just completed another Windows monitor app. This one has a scrolling taskman-like interface. Once again the zip file just contains the .exe file and the INSTALL.txt file. Sorry, I don't remember who was asking about this, but it seems that if you record a video message that contains the send video start, it will actually fire up the remote receive window. I.E. Previously I was using the recording section of voicemail to create my video IVR's. This meant that when I arrived at the section to record the message, I had already clicked send video in Xten.

Using Firefly 1.9.5 (thirdparty) on Win2k Using Asterisk CVS HEAD 20041117 (also tried with 20040806 and 200410-something) IAX2, no NAT. I did get it to work, and can place and receive calls through the Firefly network via *. Compared to iaxtel or FWD, there is a significantly higher amount of latency, but it is workable. For some reason, this needed to be the last entry in my iax.conf or it would try to authenticate with a different user ID when receiving calls (and obviously would fail.
