Cisco 7905
Can anyone tell me the features of the Cisco 7905 with SIP? I mean things
like number of lines, speakerphone, transfer buttons, etc. I've seen the
Cisco material, but all it told me was how nifty it is and how wonderful
the XML interface will be ;)
Thanks,

Polycom Echo
Lately I have been experiencing a lot of echo from my Polycom phones.
Only I hear the echo and it's not on every call. I've researched it
via google and the forums and every echo problem usually relates when
it's using a Zap card and not an IAX provider.
Can anyone give me some advice or where to look to help solve this
echo problem? This never occurs on any of our other phones,

SIP Firmware for Cisco Phones
Just a quick note to people looking for SIP firmware images for Cisco
phones:
To access these files from Cisco's website, you need to have a Service
Contract (SmartNet) on at least on of your phones. I though a contract
was several hundred dollars, but it is way cheaper! Their lowest level,
1 year Next Business Day 8x5 SmartNet program, costs around $70.00, and
gives you unlimited access to

Hi,
An Cisco 7960 ipphone has been set to SCCP firmware by one of our students.

upgrade goof up
Here's the problem, I upgraded all of my 7960 phones to SIP. Now my boss
wants to carry his phone with him between offices. The other office has CCM
which is set up for Skinny. Now I have to put SCCP back on a 7960 phone and
it won't take it. Does anyone have an example of config files for sccp.
Are they the same as config files for SIP? I've never had to go back to
Skinny once I

Cisco 7905G Firmware
I have had a 7905G lying around for the past 8 months and have just had
time to start setting it up with asterisk. I started following the
links on the wiki about where to download the firmware from cisco. I
signed up to cisco so I could apparently download the new firmware for
the phone, but it now seems I must purchase a support contract. Is this
correct? Is there any other way to get the

Cisco 7905G SIP firmware needed
To get the SIP firmware for these phones, you need to buy a Cisco
SmartNet support contract (about $75 USD in the USA, though I've heard
rumors a Europe-only contract exists for about $10 USD.) You can
purchase one through most Cisco resellers. That will give you access to
Cisco's download site. Configuration of these phones under SIP is not
quite as straight forward as it is with SCCP,

7912G: Takes the same firmware as 7940/60?
Does anyone know if the 7912G (which the wiki says can do either sccp or
sip) uses the 7940/60 sip firmware? I ask this because the only
firmware I can seem to find on TAC for the 7912G is sccp, no sip...if it
takes it's own firmware and doesn't use 7940/60 firmware, can someone
point me to the right location for it?
Thanks,

SIP 7960 soft key customization?
Does anyone know how to customize the order of the soft keys on a 7960
running SIP? All the documentation I could find is CallManager
related. Specifically, I want to move the transfer function to the
first set of buttons during a call.

Cisco 7905G vs ATA186
Hi All,
I'm looking at getting some Cisco VoIP hardware to play with in
combination with a Asterisk server.
I've heard that there is beta software available to do SIP on the 7905G.
So, I'm thinking of either getting a 7905G or a ATA186.
My dillema is, which one to buy?
I can get both for about the same price, has anyone had any experience
with using a 7905G with Asterisk?
