NEWBIE - No Audio on ISDN BRI (Teles PCI)
Hello, folks! This is my first post here.
I installed Asterisk from scratch and after reading a lot of information on
voip-info and this mailing list I was able to get started.
I can make sip-to-sip calls (just on a basic extentions structure, let's say
for beginners) but now I'm trying to make this system works with my Teles
ISDN BRI PCI card.
I can make and receive calls through X-Ten

ReInvite X Broadvoice
I've been wondering for a long time why my reinvite option is not working with
Broadvoice anymore. It happend during the time Broadvoice was having a lot of
issues, so I decided to wait.
Recently I decided to test the same sip.conf with another VSP (SIPphone) and it
worked fine! No issues on the reinvite.

I Don't Want Asterisk in the Media Path
Hi everybody.
I'm trying to find a way to connect two (or more) extensions directly without
being kept in the middle during the conversation but it won't happen.
The purpose here is to have asterisk running on a low bandwidth (128Kbps)
internet connection just as some kind of a proxy between some ip phones with
high speed (10Mbps) internet connections.
SER is not an option, for now.

FYI Panasonic Wireless Phone MWI
Last week I asked about MWI indicators on wireless phones that would work
with Asterisk. I sent a message off to Panasonic asking them about it
because in their ads they specifically stated that the indicator works
with and requires phone company voicemail subscription.
The is the model TG5631.

UPDATE - Analog Phones with FSK/Stutter MWI
After purchasing the Uniden TRU9480 and then the Panansonic 5672, both of
which do not have "phone company" compatible FSK/stutter MWI, I finally
got smart and found out just which Panasonic phones have this feature.
Only the following 5.8G models in their current line have FXO compatible
MWI. I purchased the 5771 unit and one remote. I have confimed it does in
fact work with Asterisk

multiline, cordless, expandable phone system and asterisk message waiting
Basically, pretty much all the 2 line cordless systems I've seen come with a
built in digital answering system that I'll never use, the main problem with
this is that these units don't support VMWI (visual message waiting
indicator) with telco supplied voicemail. This is a problem because I'll be
setup an Asterisk system in the next month or so to handle my 2 analog and 1

Panasonic KX-TGP500 w/Asterisk
Has anybody have any experience using the KX-TGP500 Cordless DEC 6.0
"System" with asterisk ?
I run a small asterisk server at home using two SPA3102s, and thinking of
upgrading my cordless analog phones to something a little newer.

Use DECT GAP handsets with Snom M3 base?
Anyone have practical experience using inexpensive GAP-compliant DECT
handsets with the Snom M3 basestation?
When I asked Snom support, the answer was that 'basic functionality
should work', but they didn't elaborate. I'm _guessing_ that means
registering/unregistering with the base, making calls, and receiving
calls (including presenting caller ID). They also stated that they

Which Codec(s) to use..?
Hey Everyone,
I am playing around with my * box, and I have a few different phones

IAXy with a dumb analog phone attached to it, and I have a Linksys

clever ways to "share" an extension between sip and fxs
Using Asterisk 1.6.1.9, I'm looking for a way to "share an extension"
between a SIP phone (Cisco 7940) and a SLT on a FXS port of a Cisco 1760
(via sip) -- at any given time I want to be able to pick up either phone
and it should be "bridged" to the other - just like having two SLTs on the
same copper pair.
The goal is to have a cheap cordless telephone sit right next

voice quality of Aastra 480i CT and cordless
Hi Folks,
Looking for feedback on the cordless phones with the Aastra 480i CT handset. Is voice quality comparable to standard consumer residential 2.4GHz cordless phones in the US$30 - $50 price range, or better/worse?
How about handset and speakerphone quality for the main phone?
Seems like there have been various big issues with firmware in past, but is it pretty stable now?
Thanks,

Major problems with TDM400 and specific telephones: suggestions?
Hello!
Attached to the bottom of this e-mail is an edited version of an e-mail I
originally wrote to Digium tech support regarding Ouch and Power alarm
errors I have been receiving on my TDM400. It contains a great deal of
detail regarding my setup. In the end, I have found that one of the 5
phones I'm trying to make work with Asterisk is contributing to the
generation of these errors.

FXS and PBX Integration
Hi All,
I got a doubt about something I want to do with asterisk. I have this
office (site a) with only a Panasonic analog PBX and another office
(site b) with an Asterisk Box with an ADIT 600 . I want to interconnect
both via IAX. Is it possible to put a new asterisk box in site a
without the channel bank and put a card (FXS or FXO???) and connect it
to the pbx as a CO line ? What

Asterisk sends wrong fxs 'Idle' hints
Hi,
I have a problem with asterisk 10.8, hints and fxs dahdi phones: if a
remote peer and an fxs phone gets connected and the remote peer hangsup,
then asterisk sends the "Idle" state to notify the watcher before you
hangup the fxs phone! Such a way if the user forgets to hangup the fxs
phone (which is a cordless for example) then the operators will keep
sending calls to him

can FXS ports on TDM400P provide Battery Reversal or CPC
Hello, I want to use Asterisk PBX in front of my old, legacy PBX. The legacy
PBX can be outfitted with caller-ID and is already able to handle Calling
Party Control Signal Detection (this is a Panasonic KX-TD1232 Super Hybrid
PBX.
My question is how would one enable Asterisk to control the TDM400P/FXS port
to provide to the /FXO CO port on the legacy PBX, support for proper answer

How to flash hook when there is no hook ?
Hi all,
I'm using regular analog phones with * and an ATA186, and I plan to move
to cordless phones. But cordless phones usually have no way to flash
hook cause there is no hook :-)
I seem to recall there is a way to simulate a flash hook using dtmf
tones in *, but I can't find which combination to use.
More generally, where can I find all those magic cominations to put
people on hold,

TDM400 with FXS some handsets not ringing
Folks,
I have a TDM400 with an FXS module. I'm having some trouble ringing
some phones attached to the device.
I have a real el cheapo handset that cost me about 9UKP. It works fine,
I plug it into the Wildcard and call the channel and it rings.
I have tried plugging in my BT Diverse 3016 cordless phone but it will
not ring, although I can call out from it.
I have also tried my GPO 332L

GSM/DECT handsets (was gsm picocells)
Now that I actually try and google for it, I can't find any dual mode
GSM/DECT handsets, only pages telling me that they exist without any
actual information!!!
Does anyone know of any such handsets? (and even better, ones that are
available in Australia) I've searched a few of the major gsm
manufacturers (nokia, Panasonic, sonyericsson) but their web sites are
absolutely pathetic to the
