W2K Workstation not reading NTConfig.pol
I have recently set up an small SAMBA network(just my server and a W2K SP4 Workstation). My Server is acting as a PDC. Everything seems to work flawlessly, users, roaming profiles, netlogon script, etc... But I cannot make this machine to read my NTConfig.pol file. I have it at my NETLOGON share [/srv/netlogon] with rwxr-xr-x permissions. I have tried with different filenames (NTConfig.POL,

rsync through multiple ssh hops with password authentication prompt
Hi, I have searched the whole internet and mailing list and I was unable to find a clear answer to this. The method described in the FAQ [1] are not useful for me. Three machines source, middle, target. ssh into middle from source requires password pass_middle. ssh into target from middle requires password pass_target. One cannot reach target from source. So I can do: source $ ssh middle

Disabling Roaming Profiles with logon scripts or policy files?
Is there a way to disable Roaming Profiles on a Computer, with logon scripts or policy files? I have a network with W2K Workstation clients, but we also have a WinXP Pro computer that we must use and cannot install Win2K. I have read that using roaming profiles between different windows versions can cause problems. So I thought i could use login services from my PDC on that computer and avoid

X-Lite/Firefly behind NAT connecting to Asterisk not receiving RTP
I have an asterisk server up and running, using Firefly in IAX mode works great, even with Firefly behind a NAT (as expected, since IAX works really well with NAT). Now I'm trying to get X-Lite and/or Firefly to work in SIP mode from behind the NAT, and I can't seem to get there. At this point, the phone will successfully register with Asterisk, and the Asterisk qualify messages get

2 IPs for an Asterisk server.
Hello. I've been setting up an Asterisk server, and I am now supposed to move it to a different network than the one it was set on. I'd like to give the server 2 IP address: -1- The first IP address is the IP it will have on the LAN, meaning that softphones will register to the Asterisk server using this 1st IP. -2- The second IP is the one that it will use to connect to the remote

Firefly 2 third-party version?
I found version 2.0.0 of Firefly on the Freshtel site, but it only has the network setup options for the Freshtel network, despite the final statement on the page http://www.freshtel.net/firefly/download/ that says: ----------------- Standalone SIP / IAX mode: If you want to use Firefly on our network (with your own voicemail etc.) you will need to register a Firefly number. However, you can

Upgrade to Samba 2.2.12 (HP/UX 11.11)
Hi from Barcelona, We've recently inherited support of a server which is running version 2.2.3a of Samba. Obviously this version is well out of date, i know ideally we should move to version 3, but at the moment we're thinking of updating to 2.2.12. The problem is I have no idea how the original version of Samba was compiled and installed. The service that's running is pretty

Asterisk and IAX softphone (firefly) problem/question
Quick question from a newbie, I have asterisk configured to dial IAX extensions (which works). When dialing from one IAX extension (using Firefly) to another IAX extension (also using Firefly), the Firefly client rings on the receiving end and gives the option of accepting or denying the call. However, when I dial in to Asterix using a VoicePulse number and dial the same extension Firefly

Non-free packages in R-Forge
I'm sorry about the tone of my previous email. Let me try again in a cleaner way. The problem is: R or the organisation behind R via its infrastructure seems to be endorsing R-Forge, and R-Forge is hosting at least one project whose sole purpose is to link R with non-free software. This looks like endorsement of non-free software, which is contrary to the aims of the GNU project, of which R
