Touch tone recognition issues
I'm experiencing touch tone recognition issues when calling some outside
phone systems. For instance, if I call my Nextel phone, and try to press
* to enter my voicemail, Nextel's system does not "hear" the DTMF tone.
I've also experienced other outside phone systems for which I am unable
to use their touch tone menus. Oddly, this isn't the case with all
outside systems.

Configuration problems
Sorry, repost
---------------------------------
Hi,
I'm trying to build a vpn between two hosts with valid IP address. One
maquerades the private network 192.168.1.0/24, the other masquerades
10.101.0.0/24.
Configuration files and routes seem to be ok.
I'm getting the following on beta:

Any dialing tricks...
Alright, I am basically cheap, and I have a cellular plan which allows
for free incoming calls (Nextel). I was wondering if there was any way
to do sort of a dialback trick in the extensions.conf. I call into the
system from my cell phone (maybe via DISA), I dial an internal
extension, and dial a phone number. Then * sends to my cellphone the
number dialed thus giving me a in call on the cell. Or

Large number of prefixes in a route to a trunk
We're beginning to test MultiTech's CallFinder CDMA Units, one for Sprint
PCS and one for Alltel. They sell both. Our intent is to use them as a
backup line for our main office (which has a PRI) and a backup/911 line for
our remote offices which are all connected via * over a VPN with no local
trunks at any of them.
In the interest of maximizing use of the lines, I'm putting

Sprint Nextel sueing over VoIP patents
Sprint Nextel is sueing vonage, voiceglo and theglobe.com for infringing
on VoIP patents. Sprint Nextel claims to have about 100 patents on VoIP
technologies. Does anyone know which ones this article is talking
about, and if so does asterisk have any of those features?
The reason I am asking is that the article is vague, Vonage uses a
fairly standard codec set, I dont know about the others.

Asterisk 1.4, Unicall and Nextel...
I have a customer that is complaining that any call coming in from
Nextel gives a fast busy. We are running Asterisk 1.4.7.1 with Zaptel
1.4.3 and all the MFC/R2 patches and libraries. All other calls go out
and come in, just Nextel seems to have this problem. The phone company
technician connected a PBX emulator on the line and that one could
receive the calls from Nextel.

Cisco Config
Is anyone here familiar with configuring Cisco routers? I have a Cisco
3620 with 3x WIC-1DSU-T1, 1x 2FE-2W, and 1x 1E-2W. I have 2 T1 lines
being brought in by ACD.NET, a local CLEC. Within the next 3 months we
will be getting another line from them, as our bandwidth needs grow. I
am new to cisco and need help configuring this router. I am currently on
a 1M DSL line with them. The DSL modem is

RDNIS
I'm trying to use RDNIS with asterisk, and I don't appear to be
receiving any information (the value is blank). The upstream who
provides the PRI says they are passing all the info through, I don't see
this value coming across. I've tried it with a Verizon call forward, as
well as a Nextel with the same results for both. I'm trying to use this
for Voicemail. I'm using

Sending call to analog then to Vmail after timeout?
I have one analog line hooked in my Asterisk box using an x100p (I think that's the model number).
When I do this in my extensions.conf:

exten => 1200,2,Dial(Zap/1/5555551212,20,rTt)
exten => 1200,3,VoiceMail(u100@lightwavetech.com)

GPS-enabled cell phone/PDA
I would like to capture the lat/lon coordinates from a GPS-enabled cell
phone or PDA. Is this possible? Must I subscribe to this information
from the cellphone network provider, or can I capture it without charge?
What devices will broadcast the coordinates? Is there a device that
will broadcast its position inband that can be captured by Asterisk?
Can an SMS message include coordinates?

Background command noanswer option
Hello List,
I am an Asterisk newbie, and I got a question about Asterisk Background
command's option "noanswer":
What is required from the user agent, such as a SIP phone, to be able to
hear the playback without Answer()?
I'm asking this because when I used X-Lite, I could hear the the audio file
but when I used a hardware phone (an ATA in fact) I couldn't hear it. The

Configure an ATI Radeon X1200 card?
Hi,
I want to configure X on a NEC PC with an ATI graphic card. Usually, I
do that by hand, e. g.:
# init 3
# X -configure  --> first draft
# mv xorg.conf.new /etc/X11
Then I edit this with Vi, step by step. Usually, this works, but not for
ATI cards. Here, the first draft only gives me a "vesa" driver... though
xorg-x11-drv-ati is installed. But then, when I replace

Unicall MFC/R2 B3,B4 and clear back
Hi All,
I have an R2 installation still undergoing testings, during the test I notice that the Unicall
always respond B6 to a II-1 (from a forward switch). Except, for a DNIS that can't be found in the
dial plan, in this case it respond with B5. My real problem is, the call will be terminate on a
Cisco 7206 with ISDN/PRI thru SIP. If the Called number is busy or the Cisco 7206 is busy or
