call back on failed transfer or dial?
hi, i'm under the impression that this feature is not available in asterisk, consider this scenario: - you are the operator. you answer a call from outside and you want to transfer it to one of the extensions. after you transfer, if the person you transferred the call to, doesn't pick up or if his line is busy, the call is transfered back to you, you can speak to the caller and tell him,

Migrating NT files (with users/groups) to Linux Samba with ACL kernel patch.
Whoa. Long subject - still, it basically says it all: I have an NT PDC and an NT fileserver. I've also got a Linux box compiled with the ACL patches from acl.bestbits.at and I've got Samba 2.2.5 (--with-acl-support) configured to be a PDC on that box. I've put all my machines and users in LDAP and the Linux box' PAM configuration is also told to look for passwords/users in

Generic page element display initializer in a layout?
All, I''ve run into a snag. I need to handle the display of elements on my page and I want to use my Javascript event handlers on page load. However, my BODY tag is trapped in my generic layout. I''m thinking that I can put an onLoad on the BODY tag that will just call a Javascript method called initializePage() and then provide this initializePage() call in my specific page

Preventing non-root users from transferring root owned files
Hello, It seems that a non-root user is able to copy root owned files. By that I mean a file that has "400" permission, for example. rsync <server_host_name>::base_image/etc/<root_owned_file> . The "rsyncd.conf" file has "uid=root" and "gid=root". What options do I need to use so that root can copy root owned files, but non-root users cannot

/var/wine not owned by you
In an effort to set up a system-wide wine folder, I have moved mine to /var/wine, set WINEPREFIX to /var/wine for all users, and changed the permissions for /var/wine and it's contents to root:wine rwxr-xr-x. The wine registry and the savegame directories for my games have g+w as well. I am a member of the wine group. When I attempt to run wine, I get the error message "wine: /var/wine

yp dir listing
I've recently switched from Oddcast to ices2 under Linux, as my pro sound card unfortunately didn't work well under windows. Is there a problem with ices2 updating the yp dir, as my stream is not listing anymore - it seems that for some reason ices2 doesn't have the metadata code to list like oddcast does? Any ideas if this is a problem with my xml config in ices or a limitation of
