Passing audio to DomU
I am having difficulty configuring a DomU running WinXP for audio. My
hardware is as follows:
00:05.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP61 High Definition Audio (rev

I tried all sorts of settings in my config
soundhw=''snd_hda_intel''
soundhw=''snd''
The domain hangs (runs fine with no sound setting) and I get the following:

Audio issue(s)
I just bought a new (refurbished) Everexe StepNote laptop with a VIA
C7-M CPU and a VIA chipset, installed CentOS 5.4 on it and the audio
is not working.
I looked around for a sound driver for the VIA vt1708/a, which is what
it claims to have (see below), but that didn't work either.
Any pointers as to what I'm missing?

Pidgin and (lack of) sound on CentOS 4.6
When I start pidgin from the Applications -> Internet -> Internet
Messenger menu, my sound device stops working.
I think this has something to do with the Gnome applet. I appear to
end up with two (sometimes more) copies of the "gaim" process running
-- such that if I use the right-button menu on the Gnome applet to
quit pidgin, a login dialog is stil left behind and sometimes

Hello,
When I was running CentOS 5.2 (and other Liuux distribution) on an Asus
W2J laptop, I never get sound.
I upgraded to CentOS 5.3.

Audio fails on centos 5.5 sony laptop - snd-hda-intel
Hi List, been chasing my tail for the last two hours and getting nowhere
on my wifes laptop.
I only do updates monthly on her machine, as it is safely behind
firewalls and only does email and browser stuff.
I have never had audio problems on this laptop, Centos just worked from
day one - even the wireless.
It appears that the 5.5 kernels and related audio driver snd-hda-intel
do not function.

Madwifi just seems to work in Centos 5
I have not installed the madwifi specific kernel stuff (kdml and
hal-kdml) from atrpms. I have installed with wpa rpms.
And my Atheros card is working with almost no work on my part (other
than runing wpa_supplicant as a deamon).
Nice!

CPU soft lockup XEN 4.1rc
Hello,
Similar to others I have freezeups on the system, it is consistent with
high IO load. If the system runs (even with multiple) XenU it does not
happen. But I can consistently force the situation to occur.
Running 4 dd processes dumping 20GB each on a LVM/mdadm soft RAID5
volume it consistenly crashes in a DomU. Running without XEN I do not
see the problem at all - (e.g. after about 3TB of

/dev/dsp
Hey guys,
If I needed to get /dev/dsp back on centos 6, how would I go about
doing that. Note, I've already uninstalled pulseaudio.
I've also edited /etc/modprobe.d/dist-oss.conf and uncommented:
/sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-pcm && /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss
&& /sbin/modprobe snd-seq-device && /sbin/modprobe snd-seq-oss
But I'm getting:

Hotplug scripts not working - Networking woes on opensuse 11.3 m7 with XEN4 on W510 Thinkpad
Anyone can help me with this problem I''ve described here:

I''ve had XEN4.0 working on CentOS 5.4 platform without these problems. I''m trying to do the same now with a newer laptop and CentOS didn''t recognise half hte drivers. The latest opensuse 11.3 does have these drivers and specifically nouveau
