TFTP Server
G'Day All, Can anyone give me some direction in setting up the TFTP server on my RadHat ES3 box? I did quite a bit of reading, but I think I am more unsure now than before. I found the information nebulous. TFTP is already installed. I am trying to determine where the root directory for the tftp services is located so I can copy the CISCO 7960 firmware files onto it. Thanks.... Ferg

Forwarding PSTN to PSTN?
Hi there. I've got a question about what I think is a non-standard usage for asterisk. What I want to do is receive inbound calls on an analog line and connect that call to another number out there on the PSTN (actually, I want to alternate calls between two numbers, but that's not the part I'm asking about). I don't think I'm using any of the IP telephony part of

7960 Not Picking up new firmware.
G'Day All. So I got the TFTP server all set up -thanks to much help from this list- the 7960 found it and updated to SIP the first firmware P0S30200. What I am now trying to do is upgrate through all the versions, as recommended, to the latest version, P003-07-3-00. I thought this would be accomplished by simply changing the sole line in the OS79XX.TXT file to P0S30203 and reboot the phone.

Help - is voip good for in-house calls?
Hi there everyone! I work at an office where we plant to have about 12-15 phone extensions. Costs of PBX are cheaper, but they are not expandable and, as the office is brand new, I want to use all modern stuff. My question is: if I buy 12-15 Grandstream Budgetone 101 phones, and install and asterisk server, as well as a Digium TDM400 for POTS access, will I have the same voice quality and

Not able to connect to shares w/ cli
Hello, I am currently unable to connect to any win98 shares from linux using the command 'mount -t smbfs //share/c /mnt/example'. I am able to connect using gnomba though. What does gnomba do differently than the command I am issuing and why does mount fail? Thanks, sean -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... searching for compatible servers
Im trying to find the best hardware to run asterisk on. I see that the compatibility list is a little dated. Any recommendations out there? This is for a 19 phone system with 2 tdm cards? 7 points of comparison Polycom 430/501 and Aastra 480i. Which one to choose ?
I need to provide a 80 people office with VOIP. I want to commit to one vendor Polycom or Aastra. Price of the phones is not a factor in the decision. The quality of the phones is the factor. Some of the features that I am evaluating on are: (arranged in order of priority) 1. Sound quality 2. complete product line with conference phone and receptionist phone (not on Aastra) 3. cordless (not on

Help - Poor Voice Quality
I'm struggling to get my VOIP installation to be acceptable. I'm looking for advice on what else I can look for. My system: o Teliax VOIP service, voip-ny1 proxy o RCN Cable Internet Service (3Mbps download, 500kbps upload, 6ms average jitter) o 3.2 GHZ P4 Server (runs asterisk, firewall, other stuff) o server lightly loaded o Linux kernel 2.6.19.2 o Shorewall Firewall software with

kind of urgent
Hi all. Can anyone comment why shouldn't we use FC 3 for an * production system? I'm not looking to start a distro war, but we just found out that redhat 9 (and FC 1) don't support SATA drives, and apparently FC 3 does. We are only familiar with red hat and are in a point in time that switching distros is not available. The guy installing the system is already on location. Yes, I

Suggestion: use `select` values if `pluck` called with no args
I suggest that if you don''t pass any args to ActiveRecord#pluck, it would use the select values. This follows along well with the way other AR::Calculations work. As an extra benefit we would be able to pluck virtual columns. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Core" group. Could use some advice/reality check from someone knowledgeable
Have been experimenting with Asterisk for about 2 months now. Have developed a configuration that I feel is ready to deploy for our own in house use. Our primary motivation for considering an IP based phone solution is to provide connectivity to remote tele-workers that for all practical purposes emulates an office extension. As deployed, we will have an Asterisk server at our main office with

Samba and UNC Question
Good afternoon, We have a program that we run on a customer's machine. This program will essentially run a bash script stored on a network server via samba. During the execution of this script it runs a variety of Cygwin programs over the wire. Normally, during our tests and on a variety of other machines the commands it runs locally are executed very quickly. However, we have found a few

[PATCH v3 5/7] drm/nouveau: utilize subconnector property for DP
Since DP-specific information is stored in driver's structures, every driver needs to implement subconnector property by itself. Re: samba and shares
Thanks, but in /etc/fstab I have username/password as options so I don't have to type all that everytime ;) What is weird about this situation (and what no one has addressed) is why gnomba (gtk frontend for samba) will mount these shares fine but I cannot mount them from the command line. What does gnomba do that I am not? sean On Mon, Mar 11, 2002 at 08:24:32PM -0800, Brock Nanson wrote:
