is chan_skinny broken?
I am trying to use chan_skinny but when loading the module I get:
[ Booting....../usr/lib/asterisk/modules/chan_skinny.so: undefined symbol:
ast_pickup_call
I am using CVS 07/23
I can't get chan_sccp2 to compile, it gives me parse errors, or I'd be using
that. :-/

Cisco 7960 Won'
I'm having a wierd problem with a Cisco 7960 (sccp2) and asterisk (1.4.2)
If the call that I'm trying to make goes through, everything works fine. But if
there's any sort of error (like me messing around in my extensions.conf, etc). I
can't get the connection to drop. ie: If I get the conjestion tone and hang up
the phone, I can do a sccp show channels I can see that the

Fun with Echo
I've spent the last week or so troubleshooting echo problems at my
Wife's business, and I've been able to clear up about 99% of the
echo, but there is still a little residual echo that I can't seem to
"tweak out". The users describe it as "buzzing or crackling", but
what it sounds like to me is a slight echo, but just of one syllable
of the word.

IAX Java Softphone?
Does anyone know of an IAX softphone in Java, whether applet or
application? Even the most minimum featureset, just voice and dialing,
or even embedded in some other app/let. Preferably GPL. Thanks.

Cisco 79xx users/consultants, 7970G color in particular share information (was: Re: asterisk-users Digest, Vol 44, Issue 3)
The documentation of how to use the 79xx series' phones and features
with Asterisk is really hard to find and put together. The higher end
phones like 7970 are more like converged PC+phone, a thin client to
telephony and network apps. But it's really hard to target it as a
development and deployment platform because the docs and techniques are
so obscure.
There seems to be a fair amount

Cisco7960/SCCP Transfer Help?
I have a Cisco 7960 running 7.2 of their SCCP image; I am running Asterisk
1.0.5 and using the latest Sourceforge version of SCCP2.
When I make a call (or receive one) the "Transfer" softkey does not show up
- as a matter of fact only 2 softkeys show up (redial & something else), but
those even are not active.
On a 7960 running SIP the Transfer and other buttons do show up and are

DSl and more then 1 call
Hi
I have 2 asterisk servers running 1.2.12.1 and IAX2 with trunking and no jitterbuffer. Both servers are using sccp2 with 7940's and 7960's with 7914. Server 1 is my main VOIP server and is connected to the pstn and VOIP wholesale provider. Sever 2 is a branch site and all calls go to server 1. If I make 1 call on server 2 everything is fine. If I make a 2nd call so there a two calls

Cisco 7960G, Skinny.conf, and reboots
I could use some skinny/Cisco help here. Was finally able to get the phone
registered to * but whenever someone tries to call that phone it freezes and
reboots itself. Same thing happens when you pick the handset up off the
7960G; it locks and reboots about 5 sec later.
Here is what * shows when I plug the phone in:

Thanks you for your help,

Cisco 7940: showing FWD in display.
Hello all,
this may be slightly offtopic :-)
I have some Cisco 7940 phones with SIP firmware, connected to an
Asterisk 1.2.18-BRIstuffed-0.3.0-PRE-1y-g (HorstBox Pro with custom
extensions.conf).
On some of the phones, two lines are configured, one for business, one
for private calls.
When forwarding a line to another destination (e.g. to voicemail), we
can't use the phone's own

ALERT_INFO=1/ Cisco 79x0
Hi,
I've just found:
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-June/014475.html
which talks about ALERT_INFO and Cisco phones. How do I actually get
this working and what does it do? Do I need to add anything to the configs
for the phone or is it just a SetVar(ALERT_INFO=1) - which I tried and it
seemed to do nothing at all..
Thanks

libpri mwi functionality?
Hi,
Looking through the source code, I see two functions in the 'libpri'
code for message-waiting: pri_mwi_activate, and pri_mwi_deactivate,
but they are not used by anything anywhere.
Is there a sample application somewhere which makes use of these functions?
I believe that the ISDN MWI is used when a Norstar MICS has an
external voicemail provider. I don't know exactly how this

wifi
I'd like to survey those on-list who actually use wifi SIP handsets.
What type of wifi access point do you use? Are you happy with it?
I presently use some older Linksys WAP54G APs. I'd like to replace
these but in doing so I'd like to be moving in a VOIP friendly
direction. I've yet to find a handset that I'd buy in quantity, but my
last round of access points lasted >4
