I remember a thread a while back asking about Linux distro's of choice. My flavor is Archlinux. But, I found a tiny discrepancy with Arch and Asterisk's install. Arch uses *mawk* for it's awk compiler, unfortunately...Asterisk doesn't seem to pick up on it. So, I installed *gawk* as well...and the install went smoothly after that.
