RAM in one server?
Also I was planning to implement using 64 bit architecture with Asterisk:

Caller id and the number of rings
Hi all,
I have the following setup
PSTN -> ASTERISK -> IVR (using dialogic card)
1) Caller id information is presented to asterisk during the first and
second ring.
2) Hence, Asterisk waits for 2 rings before pickup the call and forwarding
to the appropriate FXS port.
3) The IVR application also waits for 2 rings before picking up the call to
get the caller id.
4) Hence any caller

Current Open Source Billing Package
After spending a couple hours scanning for an open source (non-
commercial) billing package yesterday I am underwhelmed. Almost all of
the packages listed on the WIKI appear to be defunct, for several
years now. I will be happy to get a login and edit them out if that is
the proper method to do so.
My requirements are very minimal and at this point unless I have
missed something will

Last callers script?
Hi,
Is there some script which can be called from a * extension to
playback the recent incoming
callers on a particular PSTN line?
In the UK 1471 is a BT number which plays back the most recent callers
number, it also
gives you the option to call this number back (now charging you for
this service too!).
Is there anything similar in asterisk-land?
thanks

Need an Asterisk Expert for a Project
We have a customer that handles the billing for a rather large company.
Anyway, they have their phone system through us, Cisco 79xx phones with
Asterisk and such. They want us to build them an IVR system that can
interact with their billing system through XML and read back information to
the customer.
They want their customers to be able to call in, enter account numbers or
credit card numbers

AstDB & MixMonitor queries
Hi
My setup : Trixbox 2.6.1 & TE410P running well ..I've 2 design issues to consider :
1. I need to store the CallerId of the PSTN caller with his language preference so that next time he is played the prompt in his language that he chose the first time. What would be better - storing his number in the Asterisk DB and using Dbput and DBget ? or storing it in MySQL from the dial plan and

Special Delivery from China
I received a sample IP/Speakerphone from my friends in China today.
Asterisk setup was fairly uncomplicated and I had it running as an
extension on my server within a few minutes. Sounds quality of both the
receiver and the speakerphone are fine (wife's opinion). Are there any
tests I should run with this phone?
Following are the specs:
- Single line appearance
- Alpha display, 2x16 chars

What i meant is...like in Linux you make use of the two external

DTMF issue on IVR
Hi All,
I encountered a DTMF problem. We have an IVR built on Asterisk 1.0.7 with
RedHat 9. When the caller calls into our IVR, and IVR plays the first prompt
and asks caller to dial four-digit extension. Caller has to dial slowly,
otherwise, Asterisk cannot recognize the extension number. I look at the
trace on Asterisk CLI and there are missing digit in the middle of string.

CentOS 6 gcc is a bit old
gcc (GCC) 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-11) is a bit old.
There have been major changes since then.
I'd like a newer version.
If I have to, I expect that I can install from source.
I'd rather not.
Is there a CentOS 6-compatible repository
from which I can get a newer version?
Does a standard CentOS 7 repository have a newer version?

Billing/Call Control engine : AGI scripts/ AstMan API
Hello ppl,
Have implemented a really nice Billing engine using AGI scripts. So far
it works fine, tho haven't yet put it in the torture cell.
The AGI scripts have been written in PHP, using MySQL for the billing
and profile information.
The major disadvantages I see using AGI scripts :
1. A new process(invocation of PHP scripts) on every new call.
2. MySQL connections on every instance of

Billing pulses
Hello,
I've discovered that in Italy ISDN lines can be
programmed to generate a "billing pulse" every n
seconds (it dipends from the pricebook). The pulse has these figures:
frequency

12 kHz ? 1%
level
..........................................................................
200 mVrms on 200
