sound dropouts during SIP re-register
hi I keep getting sound dropouts during SIP re-registration, and I can't find a remedy for it. I use SIP friends from MySQL. Below is SIP debug output for the re-registration Thanks in advance roy ------- *CLI> sip debug ip 80.202.161.221 SIP Debugging Enabled for IP: 80.202.161.221 *CLI> Sip read: REGISTER sip:sipgw1.briiz.no SIP/2.0 From:

Time series data with dropouts/gaps
I have time-series data from a pair of inexpensive self-logging 3-axis accelerometers (http://www.gcdataconcepts.com/xlr8r-1.html). Since I'm not sure of the vibration/shock spectrum I'm measuring, for my initial sensor characterization run the units were mounted together with the sample rate set to the maximum of 640 samples/sec. Unfortunately, at this sample rate there are significant

Eicon ISDN to Voicemail audio dropouts
Hello, I'm having a problem with significant audio dropouts occurring in voicemail messages left via an ISDN-BRI trunk. Dropout durations are as short as 15ms and as long as 200-300ms. The audio that is recorded, appears to be otherwise complete, just with frequent holes punched in it. The same trunk has no problems with audio files played toward it from voicemail, nor interacting with

setgid error
Hi all Trying to setup dovecot with mysql and postfix, I have configured it as given below. thecot user has the dovecot group as primary, and is also a member of mail and dovecot-users. Still, it can't setgid to dovecot-users. I tried changing the shell for the dovecot user to something useful and chmod'ing a file to dovecot-users, and it work well. Still, no mail comes through

asterisk-backports.org
hi all I just setup a new site, perhaps soon a wiki, to collect what's out there of useful backports from Trunk/1.4 beta back to 1.2. Dropouts and echo
Hi all, We have recently implemented an Asterisk system using Trixbox (asterisk v1.4.4 at the moment, yet to move to 1.4.9) but are getting pressure to switch back to our old key system unless we fix two major issues. So please help me avoid switching back! An overview: We have about 12 Linksys SPA941 SIP phones connected on a private switched network to our asterisk box which is a

remove-source-files checking for open files?
hi We have a box here connected to an antenna receiving rather large amounts of metheorological data from a satellite. the data is received and ransferred to another box and removed from the receiving server. I first thought of using rsync for this, but it seems --remove-source- files has no way of checking if the file is open or not, so if the receiving process is still writing to a

simulating a few thousand SIP clients?
hi i'm setting up a rig to handle quite a few SIP clients, so i need a way to simulate, say, 20k SIP ATAs. Does anyone know how? This should of course be as close as possible to 'reality', meaning n% calls per client and the usual REGISTER/OPTION traffic. thanks Best regards Roy Sigurd Karlsbakk roy@karlsbakk.net --- In space, loud sounds, like explosions, are even louder

resilver question
Hi all I''m seeing some rather bad resilver times for a pool of WD Green drives (I know, bad drives, but leave that). dedup testing?
Hi all Has anyone done any testing with dedup with OI? On opensolaris there is a nifty "feature" that allows the system to hang for hours or days if attempting to delete a dataset on a deduped pool. This is said to be fixed, but I haven''t seen that myself, so I''m just wondering... I''ll get a 10TB test box released for testing OI in a few weeks, but before

SIP dropouts
Howdy all... When making SIP calls through my X100P from X-Lite to the PSTN I'm getting 3-5 second dropouts in both directions. I've tried ulaw and GSM, but that doesn't seem to make a difference, and the * box is on my local net. Here's my hardware: Celeron 2.4GHz, 512MB, Slackware 9.1, 2 X100P, 1 T100P. Any ideas what could be happening, or pointers as to how to shoot this

bri-stuff.0.1.0-RC2k + hfc card: dropouts on IAX2 & MP3Player quits on streams
Hi there, I am using bri-stuff.0.1.0-RC2k and it seems that things didn't become better. I have got lots of dropouts on the IAX2 link (no matter if jitter buffers are enabled). Further the MP3Player application does not playback streams like http://somestreamserver/somestream. It stops saying: -- Executing MP3Player("SIP/27870-ba4f",

Asterisk scalability?
Hi I plan to setup an asterisk box to function as a SIP gateway forwarding lots of calls to/from a backend of several other asterisk boxes, each with a TE410 card for PSTN connectivity. It will only gateway the calls into the PSTN gateways. No transcoding is planned - only plain ALAW. How many concurrent calls would you think this can handle? I'm asked to plan a system that can handle

Strange dropouts
First of all, *thanks* to all the developers for their hard work on Ogg Vorbis. It's greatly appreciated. I'm having a problem with encoding in Debian GNU/Linux 3.0. The oggs contain occasional dropouts and "blips" here and there. Example files: Original (~7 MB): http://personal.inet.fi/musiikki/nebularia/test/t2title.flac Ogg Vorbis file (~800 KB):

kernel messages question
Hi I keep getting these messages on this one box. There are issues with at least one of the drives in it, but since there are some 80 drives in it, that''s not really an issue. I just want to know, if anyone knows, what this kernel message mean. Anyone? Zfs ignoring spares?
Hi all I have installed a new server with 77 2TB drives in 11 7-drive RAIDz2 VDEVs, all on WD Black drives. Now, it seems two of these drives were bad, one of them had a bunch of errors, the other was very slow. After zfs offlining these and then zfs replacing them with online spares, resilver ended and I thought it''d be ok. Appearently not. Albeit the resilver succeeds, the pool status
