MGCP and Cisco ubr924
I've been trying to figure this one out for a while, but to no avail. I have my cisco ubr924 setup for MGCP with Asterisk as the call-agent. I have manually registered the endpoint in mgcp.conf. When I pick up the phone, I get no dialtone and debug shows errors. IOS on the ubr924 is 12.2. Any help is appreciated. from mgcp.conf: [ubr924] host=65.37.86.203 context = from-sip (just as a

MS SQL & Free TDS
Help! I've been using mysql for cdr storage, I need to switch to MS SQL. I must be stupid or something but I cannot figure out how to setup the cdr_tds. I have FreeTDS configured properly, but my unixodbc is not working properly either... I'd be happy with either solution, but I'm in need of assistance. Luke Catranis

One-way audio in incoming calls with Asterisk + OpenGK + Innovaphone IP3000
Hello everybody, I?ve been pulling my hair for a week now over a problem, and I really don?t know where to look anymore. Here?s my setup: There is an Innovaphone IP3000 VoIP gateway on the LAN (10.253.30.254). I can use it to send and receive calls from physical phones attached to it. I have setup Asterisk 1.0.3, with H323 and openH323, and on the same server I also setup GnuGK (10.253.30.1). I

Using OH323 and Gatekeeper
Hello all, Please forgive me if this sounds a little (or a lot) ignorant as I am very new to asterisk. Right now I have two pc's connected back to back through an E100 card running asterisk. I have openh323 running as well and I am able to route calls through the E1 line. Next up I would like to be able to register asterisk with a gatekeeper. On another computer is running openGK. Using

Digium Cards in Boxes without Power Connectors
I noticed on the wiki that some of the production hardware (compaq) doesnt have a power connector to my knowledge. I have a compaq c6400 that I would like to use for Asterisk. However all the drives are hot swap and the dual redundant power supply bay are not something i really feel like soldering wiring to. How are people getting around this? Is there a magic 'fan card' that has a

I'm trying to use a 4 port ATA that was designed for use with MGCP 1.0 / NCS 1.0 -- is the channel_mgcp compat with NCS -- anything I can do to make it compat?? This is what happens - below *CLI> mgcp reload Reloading MGCP == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/mgcp.conf': Found Use EXIT or QUIT to exit the asterisk console == MGCP Listening on 10.1.22.39:2427 == Using TOS bits 0 mgcp

Dovecot and duplicates
Hi I'm having a problem setting up duplicate filtering on my mail server. I've set up the mail server with Postfix and Dovecot with virtual LDAP users, ClamAV virus scanning. The problem is that some of the virtual users use multiple e-mail addresses and postfix delivers emails sent to a user as many times as the user has email address entries in LDAP. I was wondering what would be

Is there a "connect acl" ?
Hi, I have been reading the acl documentation and it seems that a "connect acl" is not available. I need to limit the users that can login in an IP number, is that posible with dovecot 1.0? (i.e. only these users can login from the Internet) Or a new plugin should be written? It is complicated to do that? Thanks Oliver -- Oliver Schulze L. | http://tinymailto.com/oliver Asuncion

Dovecot Sieve scalability
Hi, I just finished setting up a functional design with Dovecot+Sieve and it works like a charm. However I'm having serious doubts about the scalability of this. Here is part of a discussion we're having here: About Dovecot+Sieve. What happens here is that your MTA is configured to pass _all_ email to Dovecot which is configured as a LDA. In practice this means this in the Exim

Converting Courier mailboxes to Dovecot
Hi, I have around 100 mailboxes (maildirs) to convert from Courier IMAP (4.1.3) to Dovecot. (From a recent backup) I've tested a few mailboxes on Dovecot 1.0.0, and while the client doesn't notice any difference (at least in Thunderbird) I'm hoping to get rid of the old Courier folders and convert any useful information they may have into Dovecot. I've tried Timo's

Drafts, Trash, Sent
Hi, I'm testing a dovecot installation using thunderbird as imap client. The first user I configured has regolar folders: Drafts, Sent and Trash, and thunderbirs shows each one with its icon. The second user shows these folders with a standard icon, and I'm not able to save email in sent. I cann't understand why there is this difference, and how dovecot manage these folder. Can anyone

SpamAssassin and Maildir with Dovecot
A patch has been proposed for SpamAssassin to process Maildir folders of spam: <https://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=3003> Is this patch compatible with Dovecot's implementation of Maildir? For example, is anything needed to avoid stepping on Dovecot's metadata?

Capturing credentials for imap sync
Hi List All the imap sync apps I could find requires the username /password credentails to be known before a sync occurs. I have Dovecot using ldap acting as a nearline backup mail server to MS Exchange. Every hour imapsync syncs mail between Exchange and Dovecot. This all works fine becuase the users credentials are known, but when new users are added I would like the process to work

telnet to dovecot not creating mbox
Hi, Whenever I create a new email user, telnet fails until an email is sent to that user to create his mbox. This is the error that it gives. Anyone know how to fix this? I could create the email account script to touch the users mbox, but I havn't needed to do this in the past with ipop3d and dovecot on a different server. Copyright notices in code
I thought about committing this change to all .c files: Removed all Copyright Timo Sirainen comments. They weren't always correct and the year numbers were rarely updated when something was changed. Copyright is owned by the creator by default in practically all countries, there's no need to advertise it everywhere. Can anyone think of reasons why this wouldn't be a good idea?

Quota warning message ala courier
I have to face it, my users are retards: * either they're using crap MUAs which will not display their quota to them * or they're using POP with "leave mail on server" and will never notice their quota, unless it's too late * and once their quota is exceeded, their mails will bounce -- they'll never notice that, though. Thus I need a feature in dovecot that will

Is there a way to limit multiple POP3 connections?
Hi all, Please correct me if I'm going about this the wrong way. We currently have a 3 system Mail server set up - two machines are the load balanced frontends running Dovecot and Postfix, and the third machine is our NFS. Over the past 4 months or so, I've tweaked and optimized our mail servers, and we receive roughly 3 million emails a day combined through this setup. Sometimes,
