Release 1.0 of FWD Assistant for MacOSX now available
Hi
Release 1.0 of the FWD Assistant for MacOSX is now
available for download.
One bug found in pre-release 1 had already been fixed in
pre-release 2. Release 1.0 further adds automatic
installation of FWD's public keys in
/var/lib/asterisk/keys if they don't already exist there.

Guide to getting started with Asterisk on MacOSX
For the record, I have put up a Wiki page with a 'Guide to
getting started with Asterisk on MacOSX'
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+Getting+Started+on+MacOSX
Some sections are still incomplete, still working on them.
Note that this is based on using the various GUI tools we
released, so there is intentionally nothing about
configuration files nor CLI commands and it should stay

Great stuff.
Please, can you share your adjustments to the Makefiles
with the community?!
If you don't

Well done!
We need more momentum for Asterisk on non-Linux platforms.
Building a community around Solaris much like there is a
community around BSD, would be very helpful. This will
only happen if Solaris users start sharing

Are there any graphic designers on this list?
Hi
I had asked for some help with the Asterisk Assistants
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+Assistants+for+MacOSX
and many have offered assistance with translations which I
am grateful for and like to say thank you again.
However, there hasn't been a single response from a
graphic designer to offer help with a custom icon. Are
there any graphic designers on this list at

Asterisk Assistants Custom Icon
I think I need to clarify what I meant by custom icon for
the Asterisk Assistants in my earlier posting.
On the Mac an Assistant is what the Windoze world calls a
Wizard and there is a generic icon for it - the front of a
dinner suit with bow tie, the one you can see on the Wiki.
However, many of Apple's own assistants have a little mark
in the lower right corner of the generic icon which

If you have installed Asterisk on your Mac using our

I have just uploaded a patch which will install any
missing files.
If you are not sure whether you need the patch, download

That won't make it even past the sloppiest examiner. You
would have to wrap it up nicely and present it as
something novel, like so ...

Asterisk Assistants for Linux or Windoze???
RE: [Asterisk-Users] Are there any graphic designers on

It wouldn't make sense to create Asterisk Assistants for
Windoze (it'd probably be called Asterisk Wizards, btw)
because Asterisk doesn't run on Windoze.
As for Linux, we are currently looking into that.
The Assistants are built using the

Which Zaptel release goes with Asterisk-1.0-RC2 ???
Hi
I am trying to build an Asterisk-1.0-RC2 server with
Zaptel support and two X100P cards.
I was wondering which Zaptel release I should check out to
go together with 1.0-RC2. I tried the CVS from 18 August
which worked fine on another machine with the exact same
OS and kernel and this resulted in a rather nasty internal
compiler error.

Voicetronix OpenLine4 immediately hangs up on every call
Hi
we've got Asterisk CVS-HEAD 18-Aug-04 (modified by
Voicetronix as available on their site for use with the
vpb driver) and an OpenLine4 (4xFXO). The same server also
has two X100P.
Calls on the Voicetronix card drop instantly when the
called party picks up. The vpb driver reports that it
detected a hangup (loop drop) yet there is no hangup when
connecting the X100Ps or analog phones to

Mac OS X installer: missing files fix
I've paraphrased the OS X installer developer's comments: there's a bug in
Installer that is preventing the archive from working right. Below is the
fix for the problem.
First (obviously) run the installer. Since the executables are in the
archive.pax.gz file in the installer package, first do a "show package
contents" on the package file, then unstuff the enclosed

Sipura-3000 Assistant for Asterisk on MacOSX? Well, maybe, with your help!
Hi
We are getting more and more email from Mac users asking how they can
connect their MacOSX based Asterisk server to a PSTN phone line. This
has led to two ideas ...
1) Mid term: set up a donation fund to sponsor the development of
Zaptel drivers for MacOSX
Note: if everyone who downloaded the Asterisk installation package for
MacOSX during the last two months since its release would donate

Asterisk GUIs at Astricon * REMINDER *
I'm working with the final details of the Astricon agenda. I haven't
got anything so far on Asterisk GUI's and there are plenty of projects
out there. I would like to invite developer's of Asterisk GUI's, both
open source and commercial, to participate.
What I'm thinking of is giving each GUI a slot of 10-15 minutes for
a presentation and then a panel discussion on the GUI
