forwarding calls thru Freshtel
Hi,
I'm having some problems getting calls to go out via freshtel.
There dosn't seem to be any specific information on how to get it
working anywhere.
The only information I've found is here:
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Freshtel
and that dosn't give you any idea of how to actually get it working.
I've tried adapting information from other IAX2 provider examples but

Slightly OT - Snom 190 function keys via subscribed config
Hi All,
I realise this is off topic, but its likely the best place to ask!
I sent an email to snom support a few days ago but have yet to recieve a
response..
Perhaps some one has found a solution to this problem already? I've searched
the mailing lists and google and found nothing useful. I've also read
Snom's mass deployment
documentation but thats no real help in this case.

3Com 3102 Phones
Has any advancement been made to get 3102 operational in either a SIP or
H323 asterisk environment.
A post back in time mentioned a downloader service.
>From the posts and articles I have read, the NCP is acting like a bootp
and tftp server which uploads the configuration to the phone??
Am I close? if so, where does one get the SIP image for he 3102 and
2102 phones?

We are looking at installing a VoIP system with Asterisk and are
currently looking at the line of 3Com phones. Has anybody had
success with using the following phones? We need to buy a lot and we
don't want to end up with phones that don't work properly with asterisk.
3Com 3101 (model with speakerphone)
3Com 3102 Business Phone
3Com 3103 Manager Phone

grandstream sip phone to analog not working
Hi all,
Ive got 3 analog phones and 2 grandstream sip phones working with
asterisk, the problem is that although the analog phones can talk to
each other and the sip phones can talk to each other the two types dont
seem to be able to cross communicate.
It looks as though the SIP phones are set to connect directly, and are
failing to do so.
Has anyone else had this problem? is there a work

but they do not seam to work. So far i've done the following in my

3COM 3101 SIP
I have been (un?)lucky enough to be given a 3COM 3101 phone as a demo to play with and see if I can get it to work with ASTERISK. Supposedly it is SIP, but there is absolutely no documentation with the phone and it doesn't seem to have very many programmable options. 3COM doesn't seem to have any information on their knowledge base about this particular phone.
Has anyone had any luck

Cisco 7.2 firmware for SIP 7940/7960 released
Hi All,
Just a heads up - I was looking around the Cisco FTP a little while
ago and noticed that the SIP 7.2 images for Cisco IP Phone 7940/7960
were released yesterday (16th August).
No new features - all bug fixes according to the release notes. I've
already started using it.
I thought those of you running the Cisco phones and the appropriate
access who didn't yet know would like to

MultiLine Sip Phones
Sorry Newbie asking everyones option.
I am setting up a couple of small asterisk phone systems for my work, I
started using some snom 190 and bt102 sip phones (the bt102 works really
well with iLBC), but the complaint from my workmates is there is no way
to see if other people are on there phone or not, or what lines are
being used.
The snom 190 only has 5 function keys, the snom 220 seems a bit

3Com PXE server
I posted this to the group last year, but the problem was not fixed so I
will give it another try.
I use 3Com's PXE server to deploy the Fedora Core boot disk to my clients
for an ftp install. I also have ghost boot disks, bios update disks, and a
video bios repair disk all using the 3Com PXE server. The problem is when I
try to boot a Linux kernel. With all versions of syslinux since 1.72

Hardphone SIP phone costs
I'm trying to understand something that just doesn't seem to compute.
How can companies like Cisco justify selling their hard phones for as
much as they do? I know there is a matter of recouping R&D costs but
when you look at the iPhone with all its amazing features for less than
$500.00 it just doesn't make sense. Am I the only one that thinks this?

Cisco 7960 + SIP
Hello all,
I know this isn't strictly Asterisk, but I'm sure that there are more people
here using the Cisco 7960 w/ SIP, so I thought I'd post here.
I've just bought a Cisco 7960 phone to use with Asterisk. It came with the
CallManager image on it.
I've got the 4.4 SIP images (P0S3-04-4-00).
If I put "P0S3-04-4-00" in the OS79XX.TXT file, the phone downloads this

VoIP phones in Australia
Does anyone know what VoIP phones are available in australia for
'decent' prices (ie, decent for me is under $250 - $300 max)
So far I've found the following:
D-Link DPH-100S $620
Various Cisco phones at > $500 each
ZyXEL Prestige 2000W $380
Haven't been able to find much else around. I would like to get at least
one grandstream but the delivery charges will probably add up

syslinux booting problem with 3Com PXE server
I use 3Com's PXE server to deploy the RedHat Linux network boot disk for
an ftp install. I have done this for RedHat 7.2 and 7.3. I followed
the same procedure I used for the other RedHat boot disks using the
RedHat 8.0 boot disk and syslinux didn't work. Syslinux boots the
system, gets the boot: prompt and dies. The error message is can not
find ramdisk image and then cannot find
