Zaptel, Line Impedence and Echo
Hi,
I'm not sure if I just missed something somewhere along the way, but I
noticed while I was going through the CVS logs that there is an option
in the wcfxs module to set an "opermode" - which apparently might help
with echo issues around the globe (like the ones I'm seeing - some
times).
So I'd love to use it and give it a go. Apparently, there are some
options that

Latest CVS fax detection & grandstream bug
As a follow up to my previous post, I have now identified what is
causing the bug with the grandstream phones.
When the line
faxdetection=incoming is in the zapata.conf file, the grandstream
phones will not ring, nor connect a call to the zaptel interface.
Can anyone else confirm this bug? I'm going to play with the different
options (incoming/outgoing/both) to see if it makes a

ZyXEL Prestige 2000W SIP hangup fails
Does anybody have any experience with the ZyXEL Prestige 2000W? I am
having problems with the line tear down when I call another extension.
If nobody picks up at the other end when I hangup the 2000W, the other
extension continues to ring. Is there any way to hangup a SIP call if
there is no more traffic? Asterisk seems to think that there is still a
connection open. This is pretty annoying

Zyxel Prestige 2000W Firmware - EVIL
If you see a wj0011 version of firmware for Zyxel Prestige 2000W floating around
(I found it in a German forum), KEEP AWAY.
It completely trashed the wireless networking in my phone.

Hi,
Anyone have any experience with either of these, I 'd appreciate some
feedback? Plus it seems pretty easy to steal a connection with this.

Latest CVS, Grandstream and Zaptel bug?
Hi,
I'm confused as anything by this bug. I'm hoping that it is just
something screwy in my config.
I have 1 Cisco 7960 and several Grandstream BT101 & 102's, and a Digium
TDM31B.
I'm running the latest CVS (CVS-HEAD-05/27/04-17:22:40) of both
Asterisk and the Zaptel driver on Fedora Cora 1.
When I make an outgoing call on the Cisco phone, everything works fine.

ZyXEL Prestige 2000W and DTMF
I've just seen this post:
http://www.mail-archive.com/asterisk-users@lists.digium.com/msg41132.html
and it took me back to play again with my dust collecting 2000W. Does
anybody got DTMF to work?
My sip.conf looks like this:

context=from-sip
username=400
secret=verysecret
disallow=all
allow=g729
dtmfmode=rfc2833

ZyXEL Prestige 2000W - cant make a call?
Hi All,
Today I got a couple of ZyXEL Prestige 2000W WiFi phones. I'm having a
problem making SIP calls although I can receive calls just fine. When I
try to make a call the phone makes some sound (like "bup bup bup bup bup
bup beep beep") and then I just hear hissing background noise (not too
loud - like comfort noise).
I upgraded to the latest firmware on the phone - Wj.00.10

Problem with Zyxel P-2000W v2 not receiving calls
Hi,
I am having an odd problem with one of our Zyxel P-2000W v2 wireless SIP
phones. The phone can no longer receive calls. DND is not turned on and
the phone has the exact same configuration as the other 2 phones (they
each have unique extensions and such but all other settings are the
same.) What can I do to debug this in the CLI. Nothing seems to shed any
light on the problem. I am using

ZyXEL Prestige 200w - should I return it ?
Hi all
I have just got a P2000w and experience several problems. Hopefully there is
someone out there that has got it working. I saw it on Cebit and the person
demonstrating it there told me that it was connected to an Asterisk server
on the stand -so it should work.
Problem 1: it does not register correctly
It get lots of messages like this:

NetJet and RAS
Hi,
Last weekend I was planning to buy a physical PBX system, but instead I
have been blown away by the fact that VoIP really works, that Asterisk
is so easy to set up and use... and free!
We're in Australia, so as I understand it, we aren't allowed to use the
Zaptel cards. We need to set up our system to route incoming 56K data
calls to the PPP daemon on our Linux box or to our

FXO answering quicker
Hi,
I don't know if this is possible - but can I set up asterisk to answer
the FSO line after one or two rings rather than four?
I haven't (yet) found a configuration variable to let me do this...
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Compiling on OSX 10.3.3
Hi,
Just thought I'd let you guys know about my time in compiling on
Panther.
Not being the world's greatest Makefile expert, and after applying the
patch suggested on this list (and modifying it so that the 7.2.0 was
replaced by a 7.3.0 - for the latest Darwin kernel) I still had issues
with my system requiring endian.h and byteswap.h .
Being ignorant of most things, after much

Complaining Emails
Hi Everyone,
I'm one of those "newbie" users that really doesn't know what is going
on. And in stark contrast to the posts you may read, I do actually
think that when you post on this list, you get a reply. In fact, I know
you do. I have had a quite nice run setting up asterisk, when I've had
problems I've looked at the Wiki or Google, and then when I can't find

I already have a VAD frame?
Just shoved my 7960 onto one of my clients networks. I'm talking from
outside the office to them (they are using a GS BT101). I'm getting the

ZyXEL 2000w In Call Menu/Hold configs
Hi Everyone,
After a fair amount of faffing ive managed to get the 2000w working with
asterisk for IP -> PSTN calls (i.e. get the phone to make and receive calls
over our BT line). The final solution is to set up outgoing VoIP calls but
I now know that without a SIP aware router I can think again! (damn you
iptables!)
In the mean time I'm trying to figure out why I can't get the

PJSIP AoR vs Endpoint
Hi,
I realise this is an old question, but I’m struggling to get my head around
it.
The ERD suggests that endpoints can link to multiple AoRs
In what situation would you actually use this? Given that mapping of
inbound calls is primary done to the endpoint, it looks to me like most of
the scenarios where this might be beneficial are actually not possible?
One example I had envisaged was being
